I also traveled to California to be with family for Thanksgiving and then I heard this story about Rajinder Kuar 32 whose jackknifed his semi and 2 newlywed couple lost their lives as they crashed into the truck which was blocking 2 lanes. William Carter, 25, who was driving a Subaru Outback, “struck the trailer of the Freightliner as it was stopped perpendicular to the lanes of travel,” police say.Carter, along with passenger Jennifer Lower, 24, were declared dead at the scene.Please use your flashers people sadly lives were lost at 9:30 when officers arrived and Rajinder Kumar was booked into Deschutes County jail in Bend, Oregon.Following an investigation, Kumar was arrested and charged with criminally negligent homicide and reckless endangerment. UPPER DARBY, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- A priest at the Philadelphia Sikh Temple in Millbourne, Pa. is accused of sexual assault in a case dating back to 2007. Balwinder Singh, 64, faces 4 felony charges in connection with the case. The assault allegedly started when the girl was 5 years old. Authorities say it happened at the temple where the girl attended classes to learn religious hymns. According to the criminal complaint, the victim claims Singh touched her inappropriately for years until she reported it to a school counselor in 2014. At that time, Millbourne police got involved, but the investigation was never completed. According to the court documents, the family came to an agreement with Singh and would not cooperate with the investigation. Now the victim is an adult and wants to pursue charges against him. Upper Darby police arrested Singh on Monday. He was arraigned and bonded out of jail. Singh was not at the temple on Tuesday and wasn't at his home either. A woman who identified herself as his daughter-in-law spoke to Action News about the allegations. She said he didn't do anything wrong. When pressed if she believed him, she responded, "Yes. I've been living with him for 18 years." Singh faces the following charges: unlawful conduct with a minor, indecent assault, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children. All of the charges are felonies. There was another victim mentioned in court documents. Investigators said that person has not come forward.

In the first trial, which took place in October 2022, the jury was not able to come to a unanimous decision, leading to a hung jury after more than 14 hours of deliberation. Why do we pretend to be happy for others while having hatred in our hearts? Who are we really hurting ourselves or the other person. One of the worst things you can do is be jealous of someone. Lets learn to become better individuals. Sikhism is against jealousy. The Sikh Guru's our teachers asks the devotees to tackle this negative feeling and overcome it - "Jealousy and envy bring terrible pain, and one is cursed throughout the three worlds.(1)" (⁠sggs page 1091⁠). If one fails to subdue this evil trait, the person will suffer horrible pain everywhere he goes. As a negative emotion it causes harm to the mind and body. When one is jealous, one feels depressed, miserable; it brings hatred to the heart; ill feeling; nastiness and anger are elevated in the mind. One who is jealous or envious of others feels painful and resentful at their betterment, and feels happy when some miseries befall on them. The person feels happy when he obtains success but feels miserable when he fails at something. This emotional tug-of-war in the mind brings anguish and doubt to the person who has mood-swings all the time. Some days this person is happy but most of the time he is miserable and depressed. This is because happiness only comes to him when he has success or when others fail and depression comes at all other times. Greed has been identified as undesirable throughout known human history because it creates behavior-conflict between personal and social goals.

Gurmit Dhindsa that was an Indian Godfather! Dhinsa was "the self-professed leader of the 'Singh Enterprise,' a vast racketeering organization built around a chain of fifty-one gasoline stations that Dhinsa owned and operated throughout the New York City metropolitan area under the name 'Citygas.' Dhinsa installed 'pump-rigging' technology that overcharged consumers for gas, generating tens of millions of dollars of excess revenues over a period of a decade. He protected the enterprise by bribing public officials, purchasing weapons, and threatening, kidnapping, or murdering individuals whom he viewed as threats to his operations." Dhinsa III, 917 F.3d at 74 (internal quotation omitted). The convictions at issue here arise from the murder of Manmohan Singh, who worked at a Citygas station. "Numerous witnesses testified that throughout 1997, Manmohan was actively searching for his brother, Kulwant, who had disappeared from a Citygas station in 1995. Manmohan suspected Dhinsa of kidnapping Kulwant or otherwise contributing to Kulwant's disappearance." Dhinsa then paid a hitman, Marvin Dodson, to kill Manmohan because of Manmohan's cooperation with the police. Id. Dhinsa supplied Dodson with a gun. Id. "After accompanying Manmohan to an office area at the station under the pretext that he needed a can of oil, Dodson ordered Manmohan to kneel down near a bench and proceeded to fire two shots into the back of Manmohan's head, killing him." Dhinsa I, 243 F.3d at 644. The Second Circuit described the evidence against Dhinsa for his role in Manmohan's murder as "direct and overwhelming." Id. at 660. Dhindsa was not given the death penalty but did get life in prisión without parole. This was greed and power that got him to jail. He was fined money, he was ordered to pay the victims families over 600k each. His businesses gas stations were all auctioned off.
