We don't claim to be the 2 smartest guys in the room, but we do have this to offer--we are tuned in, longtime, local fans focused in on one thing, the best bet on the next Giant's game. We are a father and son team that follows the Giants closely; we also follow the betting lines closely and we hope to bring these together every morning to bring you what we refer to as the Safe Bet of the Day.™ Unlike other pods, we are here to pre-view tonight's game, not re-view last night's. We are forward looking. We share our analysis and predictions and then give out what we think is the best bet on the board for tonight. We don't give out picks for other teams, in other sports, or for other people. We hone, we narrow, we focus, all to try to bring you a winner. So, good luck, stay safe, and go Giants.

Giants Dwarf Lad
Giants win again, 2 in a row! M is home late from work, so it's a short one today. The usual quick recap of last night's win, a review of the SBOD, and then it's right into tonight's matchup and game. Since M didn't have time to do too much research, he tosses out some game predictions before discussing his leans and then finally settling on today's Safe Bet of the Day™. Today's song of the day is by The Be Good Tanyas, titled "Draft Daughter's Blues". Hope you like it.Send us Fan Mail

McDonald Up From Farm
What a crazy Giants win yesterday! M spends a little time recapping that roller coaster ride before moving on to tonight's game in LA. The pitching matchup changed from yesterday's projections so a quick look at the new pitcher for the Dodgers leads to a change in game prediction. Finally, after reevaluating the numbers, M finds a Safe Bet of the Day™ that he particularly likes, which is a rarity this season. It's based on the idea that Trevor McDonald is severely under rated. The song of the day is another from one of Aidan's playlists titled "Poets on the Pavement" by Re:um. Enjoy!Send us Fan Mail

Thanks Mom!
Giants lose an ugly one. Offense, defense, pitching--all bad. But it's Mother's Day today, time to think of flowers and chocolate and thank you's, so it doesn't take long to review last night's loss and move on to this afternoon's game. A quick review of the pitcher's numbers leads to a discussion of today's odds. They don't look good, but thanks to a little input from Aidan we are able to mine a Safe Bet of the Day™. Speaking of mining, today's song of the day is "Diggin' Holes" by Brent Cobb, a catchy little country tune I think you'll like. Back tomorrow to discuss the upcoming road trip with a first stop in LA to face the Dodgers.Send us Fan Mail

Foremast Splintered, Mizzenmast Today
Giants win! SBOD hits. Let's keep it going. The usual quick recap of last night's game leads to a fairly quick look at Braxton Ashcraft who is on the mound for the Pirates tonight. He faces Landon Roupp in what should be a pitchers dual. That thought leads to a look at the numbers and the task of finding today's Safe Bet of the Day™. Wednesday's walk to Oracle Park reminded me of today's song of the day, "High Dive" by SHAED, another of Aidan's contributions. Hope you like it. Send us Fan Mail

SBOD Update--Time To Hit The Gym
Still shocked that the Giants lost a game he attended, M recaps Wednesday's game before moving on to tonight's against Pittsburg-- Ray back on the mound for the good guys facing Carmen Mlodzinski for the Pirates. He switches gears and inserts today's song of the day, "Echoes of Velo" by the Slick Kruger's, earlier than usual so he can get to the SBOD update. After a lengthy discussion of this seasons wagers and outcomes and the SBOD's record thus far, along with a reminder that it's all in fun, he finally is able to dig up today's Safe Bet of the Day™. Giants To Agitate Waldron's Pond
It's a short one today because I'm heading to Oracle. A very quick recap of last night's loss, then a brief look at today's matchup, which is followed by a very homerish Safe Bet of the Day™. Todays' song is by Sabrina Carpenter called "Looking at Me". You can look at me in sec. 304. I'm off. Go Gigantes!Send us Fan Mail

Walker Buehler's Off Night
Giants win! Back after 2 days off, M finally has a win to talk about. And how about that new blood, especially Trevor McDonald on the mound? All good stuff, but it's quickly on to tonight's game with Webb facing the familiar Walker Buelher. After a brief look at the matchup, M tosses out today's Safe Bet of the Day™. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, the song of the day is a favorite by The Gipsy Kings called "Djobi, Djoba". A lively flamenco tune that will get you in the mood. Possibly no pod tomorrow because I will be at the game! Look for me in section 304.Send us Fan Mail

Giants Ailing, TB Test Today
Giants lose, another shutout, give Ray no help. (At least the SBOD hit.) After a quick recap of last night, M does a brief analysis of tonight's matchup between one of his favorite Giants pitchers facing an opener and a long reliever. That leads to a game prediction and today's Safe Bet of the Day™, which was limited because of the Rays pitching situation. He then has to apologize for misnaming yesterday's song of the day, was supposed to be Whiskey River not Whiskey Fever. Calling a song the wrong name is no good, which is the title of today's song of the day, "No Good" by Kaleo. No pod tomorrow because M is away for the weekend. Enjoy yours. Go Giants.Send us Fan Mail

When Is 1x > 9x ?
After the rainout on Wednesday and the double header yesterday, everything seems out of sorts (kind of like this season for the Giants). M spends a minute discussing the leadup to two terrible losses by the Giants yesterday and the late game frustrations once again. Then it's on to tonight's game against Tampa Bay who have been playing really good ball lately. He goes over some numbers and a couple thoughts, and then after scrounging around for a while M is able to dig up a Safe Bet of the Day™. He leaves off with today's song of the day by Zach Bryan, "Whiskey Fever" which is what it feels like lately watching these games. In case you haven't figured it out, the answer to the titular riddle is, when x = Ray.Send us Fan Mail

Flyers And Phils Lose Tonight
No singing to start off this episode after an ugly Giants loss. A quick recap of last night's game and then it's on to today's which showcases Christopher Sanchez, who the Giants faced earlier this year, and Webb on the mound. They both have good numbers and that makes it tough to come up with a call for today. Even though he doesn't sound too enthusiastic about it, M finally does come up with a Safe Bet of the Day™. Today's song of the day is quite a bit more recent than yesterday's nostalgia. "Feed the Machine" by Poor Man's Poison. I guarantee you'll like it. Finally, he leaves with the news that there may not be a pod tomorrow because of the early start time, 10:05 am. but he will be back on Friday to break down the game against the Rays.Send us Fan Mail

Sharp Claws On The Mahle Cat
Giants win on Sunday! M reviews the last Giants win and Landon Roupp's impressive outing. Then it's on to today's matchup with the Phillies in PA. Is Jesus Luzardo as bad as his ERA? Is Tyler Mahle as good as his last start? Probably no and no. A quick look at some numbers leads to a brief thought about how the game will go. And that leads to a look at the odds and a few ideas about whether to stay safe or not, like on Sunday. M seems to like a few too many of the numbers, which worries him (a trap?), but he stills comes up with a confident Safe Bet of the Day™. He finishes off with an old song from a Disney movie that few are going to know, O'Malley, The Alley Cat. Send us Fan Mail

Max Out
Attitude change after yesterday's win. SBOD somehow hits. Good game all around. Can the Giants keep it going today? That's what M is hoping as he breaks down today's pitching matchup. After looking at the odds, he is led to a unique Safe Bet of the Day™, a first for the podcast. He finishes with today's song, "uh huh, i like it" by .wavrunner., which you will be singing to yourself after today's win. No pod tomorrow, travel day. Back on Tues. to analyze the Phils.Send us Fan Mail

Note From Ray--Gone Fishin'
Apologies for yesterday's terrible recording, and a warning that today's might be the same. M starts off with a recap of the laugher that was last night's game and yesterday's SBOD. They were both over early, but there were some bright spots--11 hits, 4 runs, bullpen. Next he takes a look at today's matchup between Ray and Perez. That leads to a bit of a game prediction and today's Safe Bet of the Day™. And that is followed by today's song, which is "Upset" by Nic D. Keep up the hope, it's early. Nothin' but A Houser Party
Giants can't pull off the sweep, but a series win against the Dodgers is always good. For tonight's game, M looks at the Marlins in general and the pitching matchup in particular. Some interesting stats about the start to the Marlins season and a look at Sandy Alcantara's numbers lead to a quick analysis of today's odds. Form there it's a short walk to today's Safe Bet of the Day™. That is followed again by a song of the day, "(Ain't Nothin' but A) House Party" by the J. Geils Band. It's Friday, the perfect night for a house party!Send us Fan Mail

Spring Cleaning Time, Grab A Broom
Giants win again against rival Dodgers! M goes over the unlikely heroes that were Tyler Mahle and Patrick Bailey in last night's game. He then moves on to this afternoon's game by focusing on the pitching matchup. Finally, reviewing the various odds leads to an explanation for today's Safe Bet of the Day™, a somewhat counterintuitive, rare strikeout wager. He finishes off with today's song, "Idi Amin Stomp" by Artful Dodger. You youngsters will have to google Idi Amin. Stay safe. Go Giants!Send us Fan Mail

Giants Aim To Nab Artful Dodger
Everything goes as predicted last night and the Giants get the first in Dodger series. After a brief review of that game, M moves to tonight's and explores why this one will probably be different-- Ohtani on the mound vs. Tyler Mahle for starters. He discusses other differences between the two games before explaining why he's having a rough time digging up a Safe Bet of the Day™ today. He doesn't sound too confident about his final decision. Finally, he corrects a statement about yesterday's song before giving out another song of the day. Enjoy!Send us Fan Mail

Gray Skies For Dodger Blue
M is back after a couple days off and has lots to catch up on. First it's a recap of Sat's extra innings win and Sunday's shut out loss. Then he moves on to some general Dodgers info (it's not good) before addressing tonight's excellent pitching matchup between Yamamoto and Roupp. He discusses the difficulty of coming up with SBOD's when the Giants are losing games. That leads in to tonight's Safe Bet of the Day™, and that leads to an overview of how the SBOD's have done so far this year. Back on track. Before calling it a day, M leaves you with a song of the day ("Here" by Mumford and Sons). Enjoy!Send us Fan Mail

Too Early For A Clever Title, GG
It's early! M gets in a quick recap of back to back Giants wins before moving on to today's game and the pitching matchup. Since there will be no pod tomorrow he touches on that game and then reminds us the Dodgers are next up. He fits a Safe Bet of the Day™ in there somewhere and even pulls a Nostradamus and gives out one for tomorrow, even though the lines aren't out yet. Send us Fan Mail

Giant Bats Face Littell Pitches
Always more refreshing to come on after a Giants win. M quickly reviews Roupp's effort and the bullpen's finish to shut out the Reds. Then he moves on to the surprisingly potent offense of the Giants' next opponent, the Nationals. Webb and the bullpen will have their hands full with this lineup. But the Giants should be able to keep pace given the Nats pitching woes thus far. Should be interesting to see what gives. He gives out the Safe Bet of the Day™ before explaining that there may not be a pod over the weekend, depending on time. (No rioting in the streets please).Send us Fan Mail

Giants Cool Burns
M plays his recording of "another frustrating Giants loss". He discusses why the lack of walks and HR's is really hurting the Giants scoring opportunities. Quickly, he moves on to today's game and pitching matchup. After admitting his man crush on a couple Giants pitchers he is led, surprisingly, to a Safe Bet of the Day™ that he actually likes. Bats To Get Louder Tonight
M predicts quiet Giants bats get louder in tonight's game. After a brief recap of yesterday's tough loss, he delves into tonight's pitching matchup and why he thinks, counterintuitively, that the Giants will score runs tonight and actually win. That leads him to the odds and an explanation for today's Safe Bet of the Day™. Yes, it all sounds a little crazy, but that's baseball.Send us Fan Mail

Singer Off Key Again?
Aidan is back again with his usual insights into the numbers and analytics of tonight's matchup. He does a great job reviewing Brady Singer's stats and debating just how much stock to put into the small sample size from this year. He also talks about a couple new pitching stats he's interested in following throughout the year to try and determine if they might be prescriptive or not. M follows that up with a quick look at the Reds in general, both offensively and on the mound. He then adds a bit about the pitching matchup himself before discussing the various possibilities for the Safe Bet of the Day™.Send us Fan Mail

Giants On A 'Vich Hunt
After the quickest of recaps of last night's loss, M moves on to today's early game. He spends a bit of time on the young lefty going for the O's, Cade Povich, and a little less time on the Giants' Houser. He admits he has little clarity on the direction of this game and that leads him to an unusual first for the Safe Bet of the Day™. There is a rumor that Aidan may be making his next appearance on Tuesday morning's pod. Don't miss it. Send us Fan Mail

Old Hound Caught In New Webb
Aidan makes a 2nd appearance in a row! That alone should intrigue you. He begins by recapping last night's Giants and SBOD wins. He follows that with his expert analysis on tonight's pitching matchup between Logan Webb and Chris Bassitt. That leads to 3 possible picks he likes for today. M comes on and adds a few touches, though admittedly Aidan has already done the heavy lifting. M reveals that 3 of his 5 choices to research for today were the same as Aidan's picks. He chews on each for a bit before explaining why one is most palatable for today's Safe Bet of the Day™.Send us Fan Mail

Give Em Enough Roupp
Aidan is Back!! M begins by revisiting both Tuesday's game, which the last pod was about, and Wednesday's, which he attended and helped the Giants secure a 5-0 victory. He then moves on to tonight's game in Baltimore, looking over some general team statistics before moving on to tonight's pitching matchup. He is tilting because of the similarities in both hitting and pitching numbers between the two teams, and has a bit of trepidation about his leans. Luckily, that's when Aidan steps in to settle things down. As usual, he has more analytical research, a deeper dive into the numbers and some stats to back up his thoughts. Finally, he tosses out some possible picks before agreeing with M on a final Safe Bet of the Day™.Send us Fan Mail

Traveler's Saint at the RR Xing
The phrase "another frustrating Giants loss" seems to be echoing off the walls these days. M recaps quickly last night's bullpen deja vu. And just as quickly gets into tonight's matchup with one of his favorites Robbie Ray facing a frightening Christopher Sanchez. After revealing his lack of conviction about the past few picks, M is hearteningly positive about tonight's. Can't be much more overdue. Finally, he announces there may not be a pod tomorrow because he is going to the game, his first of the season, and may not have time. (Apologies for the cryptic title. A little puzzle. Houser Vs Painter--I'm Overwhelmed
M is back with a full pod today after being effectively persona non grata for the last 3. That alone should change the Giants fortunes. Out with the Mets, in with the Phillies. Giants facing another tough youngster on the mound today, while Adrian Houser tries to repeat his first Giants performance. Both teams struggling with the bats. Finally, pitching versus hitting leads to today's Safe Bet of the Day™. (M struggles to come up with the best title with so many directions possible. He finally gives up in exasperation.)Send us Fan Mail

Banana Slugs and Giants Win Today
M is off to the 2nd day of a water polo tournament, Aidan is recovering from a Happy Fits concert, so a very short pod this Easter morning. Just a quick vibe call on today's game. M reads the tarot cards but comes up empty. The crystal ball is hazy but does eventually give out an admittedly unanalyzed Safe Bet of the Day™. Go Banana Slugs! And Giants!Send us Fan Mail

Fire Up The Kilns
M begins by explaining that he wasn't able to see last night's loss and isn't too enthused about going back to see the lowlights. The box score reads like something from Stephen King. Looks like Aidan was right about Nolan Mclean. Then M mixes it up a bit by changing the usual order of things in an attempt to flip the mojo for tonight's game. Instead of leading up to it, he dishes out the Safe Bet of the Day™ early and then gives his reasons for it. Roupp to outpitch Clay Holmes mainly. We'll see if it works. (Of course, it will. These superstitious moves always do.)Send us Fan Mail

Giants Hope to Soil Mclean
M starts off with a recap of the Giants impressive, action-packed win. While looking at the pitching matchup for tonight, he gets a little tilted and needs Aidan to call up and calm him down. Ray Focused On Incoming Mets
Ugh! A quick recap of yesterday's frustrating SBOD loss due to 2 errors. Tonight's game against the visiting Mets is discussed mostly in terms of their similarities to the Giants in that their pitching and defense has been acceptable, it's the bats that have let them down. The pitching matchup between Robbie Ray and David Peterson looks to be a good one. We discuss both teams pitching and batting numbers before jumping in to tonight's Safe Bet of the Day™.Send us Fan Mail

Giants win! A quick look back at the Giants first win of the '26 season, their first HR, and the fine outing by Landon Roupp. Don't give up hope yet, Giants fans. We then move on to today's matchup between Logan Webb and German Marquez. Aidan sends along a little info from the office in SD to take into account before we decide on today's Safe Bet of the Day™. Roupp to Help Giants Climb Out of Hole
A quick recap of yet another Giant's loss (is there an echo in here), is followed by an attempt at staying positive and a look at our new opponents, the SD Padres, who seem to be eerily similar to the Giants in many ways. An analysis of the pitching matchup between youngster Landon Roupp and oldster Walker Buehler (I admit I have no right calling a 31 year old an oldster) reveals that I have a good feeling about today's game. We finish off with today's Safe Bet of the Day™ and a hearty Go Giants.Send us Fan Mail

Today's Command--"Fire at Will"
Another quick recap of another Giants disappointing loss. Let's hope this doesn't become commonplace. Giants hitting woes, defensive lapses and lack of energy come into play. Mark leans heavily on the old cliches to keep up the positive vibes. Today's game seems more promising with a non-ace pitcher on the mound for the Yanks (Will Warren) and a motivated newcomer for the Giants in Tyler Mahle. Hope springs eternal, right? Giants hope to clean up Schlittler
Aidan's back! He gives a recap of Wednesday's disappointing loss, discusses some of Webb's post game metrics, and then goes into today's matchup between Robbie Ray and an up and coming new hard thrower for the Yanks named Cam Schlittler. (Don't forget to pronounce the first "L".) Mark follows that up with a few additions about the last game and few for today's.
