Where Sacred Rage Meets the Thin Veil: Inside our Samhain Mini Retreat
At the height of Samhain energy, when the veil between spiritual and physical worlds is thinnest, there is something powerful about stepping into a darkened room lit only by candles and saying yes to whatever your body needs. This week, we share what happened at our Samhain mini retreat in Salt Lake City: the quiet anxieties people brought in, the permission to express sacred rage, the roar that rose from the group, the spirits who wandered close, and the rituals that helped us come back down. If you’re curious about somatic healing, intuition, or energy work, this episode offers a window into it all and we invite you to step into our circle.Relevant Links:Books & Oracle Deck:Moonlogy Cards by Yasmin BolandThe Wicca Bible by Ann-Marie GallagherSamhain on TikTok:Celebrating Samhain: Traditions and Meaning Explained by @thisiskatemurphyCord Cutting by @thatglasgowwitchCustom bonsai crystal trees:IG: @energyshifters1111💫 Follow & connect:IG: @v3nusv3ntur3sTikTok: @v3nus.v3ntur3sLinktree: linktr.ee/v3nusv3ntur3s

Let's Get Curious about UTIs: Tips and Tricks for Addressing the Burn inside You
Let’s be real — UTIs suck. But what if they’re also a signal from your body? Bri and Joy dig into what’s happening physically, emotionally, and spiritually when urinary tract infections show up. They talk about anger, perimenopause, and all the unspoken ways women hold tension. In true Sage & Sensuality fashion, Bri and Joy draw on wisdom from modern medicine, reiki, emotional processing, and Ayurvedic herbal practices to provide tips and tricks, beyond the well known "pee after sex". Expect laughter, truth, and maybe a little TMI. Actually, scratch that. Never TMI at Sage & Sensuality. From Algorithms to Alchemy: Finding Belonging in Both Worlds
In Episode 6, Bri opens up about what it means to live in the space between science and spirit. She reflects on mentors who gave her language for power and group norms (shout out Dr. Richard Hackman!), the sting of sexism in early interviews (no thanks to you Great Recession of 2009) and how research in wearables galvanized her passion for a personalized approach to women’s health. Bri also opens up about her early psychic experiences and how self-acceptance led her to start a reiki and Ayurvedic counseling practice. Her story isn’t about choosing one or the other. It’s about carrying it all — the data and the energy, the logic and the magic. This is Bri’s journey of becoming, one that stretches from algorithms to alchemy and everything in between.Relevant Links:Sasha Graham's Dark Wood Tarot More info on Dr. Richard Hackman & his work in organizational behavior & group normsResearch on Wearables & Women's Health (including some led by Bri)Peer-reviewed research by Bri on How Wearables & AI can Predict a Woman's Fertile Window✨ Save the date: Samhain in Sedona Retreat | October 9–12, 2025. Breaking Point: Heartache, Eating Disorders, and the Women Who Saved Me
Episode 5 continues Bri’s story into some of her most painful chapters that shaped who she is today: her first heartbreak, the spiral into depression and an eating disorder, and the nights she cried herself to sleep in silence. This is also a story of survival. She shares how therapy gave her tools to face her anger and shame, and sisterhood gave her the lifeline she needed. Through the women who held her when she couldn’t hold herself, Bri found a way back into her body and her voice.Episode 5 is a reminder that healing is never linear and that women championing other women can mean the difference between despair and hope, and, quite literally for Bri, life or death.Relevant Links:Sasha Graham's Dark Wood Tarot Dr. Christiane Northrup's Book "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom"✨ Save the date: Samhain in Sedona Retreat | October 9–12, 2025. Never Enough: From New England Roots to Harvard Halls
In this episode of Sage & Sensuality, Bri shares what it felt like to never quite belong. Growing up in a small New England town, she was told to quiet down, to take up less space. At Harvard, she found herself in another world that demanded she change to fit in. Between the pride of “making it” and the sting of not being enough in either place, Bri opens up about the moments that shaped her voice, her confidence, and her mantra: watch me. This is a story about resilience, sisterhood, and finding power in the very places that tried to silence her.Relevant Links:Sasha Graham's Dark Wood Tarot Harvard Crimson Article about Larry Summers' statement on female scientists✨ Save the date: Samhain in Sedona Retreat | October 9–12, 2025. Roots and Wounds: Joy's Path to Healing Begins
Every story has a beginning. In this second episode of Sage & Sensuality, Joy opens up about what it was like to grow up in a polygamist family with 13 children, the pain of being bullied at school, and how she struggled with body image from a young age. This episode also reveals the first sparks of resilience that carried her forward: years of training in martial arts, energy healing, and the moment she stepped into early motherhood. Her story is so full that we had to split it in two.
