Welcome to Second Act with Barbara Brooks. Today's the launch of something special, and it's been a long time coming. For years, I've wanted to launch a YouTube channel and Podcast specifically for us women in our midlife quest looking to celebrate this time in life, share ideas, talk about the good and sometimes that ick, but always leave inspired. I'm your host, Barbara Brooks. Hyping women over 40, I'm the founder and Chief Inspiration Office of SecondAct|Women, a community of dynamic women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond built on the foundation of building one another up, one woman at a time if that's what it takes. Ageism. It's at its highest, and because of that, we go unheard, unseen, and undervalued, living under outdated stereotypes of who we really are. Think about it. Ageism is the last remaining acceptable 'isms today. Joked about from comedy stages and sitcoms to inside our offices and friend groups. It's everywhere, and we're making a big change with this podcast! We're not over the hill. We're at the top of the hill!
