Shin Suzuma is a pianist and composer. Recently releasing a debut EP "Introspect" on Platoon, his music explores the meeting point between the classical and neo-classical, exploring an interplay between electronic, warped organic strings and piano textures.Inspired by the sonic and harmonic creativity of Chilly Gonzales and Nils Frahm, he began to develop his long-held love of improvisation into composition.Beginning the piano at age 3, many of his compositions are for solo piano and are played in such a way to create a sense of intimacy and calm. With the occasional touch of melancholy, his music always has a prevailing sense of hope and gentle optimism.Being of mixed British and Japanese heritage his other inspirations include the Japanese artists Ryuichi Sakamoto and Joe Hisaishi.
