Always Late
"Ever been late to your first job in 13 months? Or your first date with your high school crush, to a broadway show that you'd promised you would be at, saying you 'wouldn't miss it for the world'? Well, Kathie was late to both, all in the span of a single day. It's actually how she earned the nickname 'Late Kate'. She was good at a lot of things, and unfortunately, tardiness happened to be one of them. Most of the time, she could've sworn it wasn't entirely her fault she was late, sometimes it wasn't her fault at all. Henrik often joked that the universe had some balance to maintain, and Kate's tardiness was the pivot, the fulcrum if you will. It was funny the first three or four times, but by the 1000th time, it'd gotten almost as old as the Late Kate joke. η⊕ω ßαςκ †⊕ †hε š†⊕rψ.... Much like many a hero of the tale, Kate fell victim to society and began to feel rather...ostracized. She began to feel as though she needed to..be accepted, rather than despised. She began to feel as though she needed to change. This was her mistake, for; the more one changes for others, the more one begins to lose sense of self, and identity. One loses the bright light that emanates their path through existence and allows society to throw a torchlight onto a path it sees fit for the individual. I would be a flawed omnipresence in this story by saying that I felt for Kate as I have seen many a lost soul fall victim to society similarly, if not in the same way. If I could stretch a hand and guide them onto the appropriate path, I would. But, rules are rules..." - Stories of a String Tailor Art: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/462956036669495176/

Let's Fly (Refix) *w Austin Elynne*
"This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet. -- Rumi." "'If you close your eyes and just..take in all that's around you, picture yourself amongst the clouds, at home with them, you can fly', she said, observing me with the keen, critical eye of a teacher. She was usually much more laidback than this, its just that now was a special moment, something we'd planned for ages, and couldn't afford to mess up. She'd taken me to her favorite part of the Raville Hills; Turlin Point, this cliff that was barely 17 feet above sea level, but had some of the most beautiful scenery of the water, and the beautiful night sky, if you knew what time to be out here, like she did. She brought me here to teach me how to fly. Sounds silly, I know. It was her thing, she'd teach me how to 'fly', but not in the literal sense, this was her way of bringing us closer together, think of it like a double date with nature. What she was to do was to see the hills and skies from her viewpoint, so she'd paint this word picture and sort of guide me into her subconsciousness, she was very in tune with her spiritual self, and often projected her astral existence. I'd never seen it, but she'd enter this meditative state and then her body(vessel) would go limp for like 30 minutes and then she'd open her eyes again....look, it's difficult to put in words, what she was trying to help me do. Think of it like two Disney characters...say..Nala and Simba, right? So they go to the favorite spot for one of the two, like Simba's forest, and just bond and all that, and after the experience, they're more in tune with each other, and more connected as a couple, think of it like that. That's sort of what we did. She eventually got me to do it, and we were projecting ourselves for hours. We probably kissed a few times, or as close to kissing as astral forms can do. When we got back into our physical bodies, she told me she loved me, and admitted that she'd had her doubts, naturally. Then we just lay in the grass a while longer, cuddling each other." - Stories of a String Tailor.. Art: http://erisiar.deviantart.com/art/Fate-Improvement-Redraw-524413951

Notebooks
Guitar(s) by: @bradosanz Produced by: me "Her father always found himself quoting Zig Ziglar around her, often advising her that: 'Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment.' She learned otherwise, through what she experienced. For it takes an unrequited love to know true loneliness, yet also, to know how to love truly.. and fully. What she learned about repetition was that it is the means with which to abandon something, or at the very least, to develop disinterest towards it. Be it her favorite song, or her favorite meal eaten all days of the week, or writing his name in her notebooks over and over, she learned that much like a blade that is used over time, or an 'I love you' is spoken more often than shown, it loses purpose...meaning over time. This is how she learned the nature of the world, the harsh reality; when you heart gets broken, as much as you cling onto others for comfort and refuge, you will eventually find yourself picking up the pieces of your tattered heart by yourself. A heart broken once loved wholeheartedly, yet may never do so again.." - Stories of a String Tailor Art: http://pablorodrigo.deviantart.com/art/Vintage-pen-and-notebook-465291567

More Like This (prod. Kojau)
"He dusted the boombox and rattled it a few times. He flicked it on and it immediately started booming Fiasco's OSL over the tiny, desolate studio. 'Why can't them youngin rappers try to be a little more like this?', he asked hysterically, sounding genuinely appalled. 'This here', he pointed dramatically to the boombox's left speaker, 'is what good rap sound like, son! Now this...this quality', he cupped his hands as though he was holding the music in them, 'I want to hear that in your music when you plays it, you hear?'. I smiled, chuckling to myself and shook my head. 'You got it, Uncle B', I said, but it was much more, it was my vow to him, and I planned to keep it..." - Stories of a String Tailor Art: http://volture.deviantart.com/art/Lupe-Fiasco-410326274

Distractions
"She tried to clear her head, to focus, but that's the thing with distraction; All profound distraction opens certain doors. You have to allow yourself to be distracted when you are unable to concentrate, at least that's what Julio Cortázar is quoted for philosophizing. She learned that concentration is like the tides, uncertain, and impermanent, and the key to overcoming distractions, was to get distracted...from her distractions. I know right? I couldn't wrap my head around it the first few times she explained it to me. I figured its kind of like poles of a magnet. If you want to get distracted, and you are distracted, then the two similar poles would cancel out, and you'd have a problem solve itself. Simple logic, right? The world works like opposite day though, she also told me. The way to get something is to not want it enough that you get it. When you want to fall in love, life gives you a series of bad breakups and next to no luck with affairs of the heart. When you don't want to fall in love is when it lets you do so, like it or not. Twisted logic, but it seemed to work for her.'' - Stories of a String Tailor Art: http://theunknownbeing.deviantart.com/art/Endless-Thoughts-322312114

Exits
"He was the 'one foot out the door' kind of guy, he was 23, socially anxious and battled with depression from time to time. So when he got a girlfriend, he did the one thing that left him conflicted with himself; he fell in love. He thought she was pretty, smart, and the easiest person to talk to, she seemed to understand him, like really understand him. Most of all, she actually wanted to be with him! Him! Out of 7 billion people, she wanted to be with him. He made it a rule to never get fully invested in anything, but that's what he did with Emma Rodwell. He couldn't find a way to stop loving her, and he couldn't find a way to stop being the way he was(introverted and afraid to put both feet in through the door) either. The thing about exit doors is they don't come as see-through, one is left to imagine the what-ifs. He knew he would be no exception, but he couldn't bring himself to remove either foot from either side of the door. The thing with dilemmas, is either choice feels like there's a lot to gain in making it, but that means losing a lot as well." - Stories of a String Tailor “He tries to find the exit from himself but there is no door.” ― Dejan Stojanovic Art: http://merrdyn.deviantart.com/art/Cave-Exit-275963587

Fade Away
"When you start to fade into the chasms of existence, the abyss, that is when you know just how much you'll be missed. For I recall, it was Eleanor Roosevelt who said, 'You wouldn't worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do.' The only companions are the darkness and the nothingness in a time like this." - Stories of a String Tailor Samples: Vangelis - Chariots of Fire - Abrahams Theme Direct drum sample: Detroit Emeralds - You're Getting A Little Too Smart Art: http://ivorwoodiex17.deviantart.com/art/halo-4-screenshot-fade-away-390511235

The Getaway (prod. Kojau)
"Grass was all over my hair. My legs were already itching. I stifled a frown, because I knew she always loved coming out here, with that orange picnic basket, and she always made sure we carried some kind of fresh juice rather than wine, she always tried to stay away from alcohol. I found it ironic, since I was usually the cautious one, and she, the wild one. 'Let's run away', she cut through my line of thought, 'just the two of us, Nate! Right now' I looked at her with a little disbelief, but a little curious. She noticed I was a little torn and played on that. She took my hand, 'you know how much I hate experiencing the same things for too long..the same place....' 'Sounds like you're saying you'll eventually tire of loving me, Becca, is that so?', I teased at her. That brought that beautiful laugh of hers out, I couldn't help but smile back. 'Nothing is always the same with you, Nate, that's one of the reasons I love you', she said as she leaned in for a kiss. Just as I leaned in as well, she got to her feet, took my hand with the most mischievous chuckle and started running, dragging me along with her. I had quicker feet, so not long after, I was the one leading her into the distance.' - Stories of a String Tailor Art: http://becone.deviantart.com/art/sweet-escape-186594818

Alone
"..'Where will we be when everything is gone?', she asked, almost to herself. 'Alone.' She said it so nonchalantly, as she twirled with my hair idly. All I could do was look to the constellations, as though my answers lay amongst them. Midway through my apparent hallucination, I awoke to a harsh reality, for I soon realized that she had been a mere apparition. I stood and watched helplessly as the remnants of our home world were extracted from the very soil that birthed us. For the first time, I felt well and truly, alone." - Stories of a String Tailor Art: http://victormosquera.deviantart.com/art/Lose-Myself-512385230

Good Times: a week in Paris
"So we spent a week in Paris, she'd always loved the place and always wanted to visit. She knew her way around, and I felt out of place, 'I can't even speak the language', I thought to myself. Alright, Okay
"He was the only other person who loved climbing to the rooftops. In order to see the beautiful city of Pandris, the scenery, the only way was, quite literally, up. The only thing worse than having him outrun me to the rooftops, was having to hear him ramble on and on. I let him talk as much as he needed to; the fact that he was a great listener made up for it quite well anyways. He always let me share with him when I needed to. I think he always saw what we had as nothing more than a friendship, and that was what I needed at the time, someone to be there for me. I'd moved away from Tokyo to here when I was finally old enough to, just a few months ago. I'd grown tired of living in the same town for basically all my life, so I felt I had to leave. A new city is always a scary experience, especially when everyone is as reserved as they are in Pandris, The first building I climbed was a 2 storey Spice shop, named Etta's Spices and Herbs. It wasn't much of a challenge, and somehow I just kept climbing till I reached really high. The view of the city from up was breathtaking. I no longer felt like I was walking amongst a bunch of zombies and robots from up here, I felt like I was in a whole other city, like I had a whole other city to myself. At least, that's what I thought at first. On my second day, I ran into Harry, literally ran into him, somewhere high up in the architecture. I wasn't expecting to find another person up here, and I couldn't help but feel a little jealous, like he was tainting my personal..fort, of sorts. He quickly introduced himself and told me that he came up here everyday to hang out and sometimes just clear his head. He guessed that I was new to the city, because it was quite small, and he basically 'knew everyone'. 'Wanna hang out?', a shy fifteen year old him asked me. 'We're probably the only two people that come up here, and you're the first other person I've ever ran into up here, so we might as well be friends', he continued. This whole time, I hadn't even gotten a word into the conversation, and the first things I said to him were, 'Alright, okay....' He was my first, and so far, only friend, and he did the best job at that..." - Stories of a String Seamstress tried writing from a female viewpoint, sort of like a diary entry Enjoy Alright, okay. Morning Fights (edit)
"I used to wake every morning to a house full of activity, the sweet smell of warm coffee and bacon and eggs, the sizzling crackles and the aromas made my belly rumble. I'd swear Angela made the best bacon and eggs. I always told her that, we called the kitchen her "lab". Nowadays though, I woke to a half-empty bed and a house full of silence. I got dressed for work and walked through the corridor to the kitchen, and for the first time, I'd beaten Angela to getting dressed. There she sat at the dining table, coffee in hands, looking absolutely tired, and her nose had a faint red tint. 'Morning, babe', I said to her, lovingly. 'Morning yourself', she snickered. 'Don't act like we're "fine" all of a sudden.' She air quoted, laying her coffee down on the table and standing up to face me, 'Let's not start this right now, we just woke up, babe', I started. 'Don't you dare babe me, you don't get to do that.' After an uncomfortable silence, she said, 'I'm moving in with Laila this afternoon, I thought I'd let you know. I think we need some space, I need some space. I need to think things over.' 'Think things over? I love you, you love me, let's not fucking fight, for Pete's sake!' I said, things were starting to get a little heated. Her eyes, said that she was sorry, but I decided to leave before I said something I'd regret. 'I'm going to work, alright? You want some space, I'll give you some space. Lock up when you leave.' With that I left." - Stories of a String Tailor This is for the couples that fight in the morning, a love like war. Taylor's Song
"Plans. Destiny. Fate. She hated anything that felt like it had been decided for her. Anything that made her feel like she had no control. She wasn't especially a fan of 'soulmates', destined lovers, written in the stars, that sort of astrological nonsense that kids buy into, which is why she never liked it when I called us 'soulmates'. I did so anyways because that's what we were. Soulmates. But if anyone's ever told you anything along the lines; 'a leopard never changes its spots', then tell them it's complete bollocks. The only constant is change. Needless to say, Taylor will alway be the biggest what-if in my life, I don't think I'll ever be in love like that ever again. Damn. 6 years later and still the name Taylor gets my blood running and my heart beating faster.." Outlines
"It takes a little rain to miss the sunshine, and a little time away from mankind to miss the company. Like a mountain top under the night sky, all I see is outlines, the present feels like a slideshow in year 9 science class; I can almost hear Mr Randall getting called out for brushing through the slides faster than we could read them, "Come on sir! Nobody can read that fast! Slow it down!". Mr Randall hated feeling like he was being given orders, and this time was no exception. My past feels like a history book being read out to me, everything feels so unfamiliar, like I'm reliving someone else's experiences. My future feels like a maths lesson, calculus actually. I'm the worst at calculus. That's why I ran away, grabbed my guitar and a little money from the multiple jobs I'd been working, and went to live the simple life, for when I latched onto my guitar was the only time I ever felt fully in control.." - Stories of a String Tailor.
