    Episode 3: What it Took to Match Ortho ft Dr. Tyler Williamson

    Joining me this week is Dr. Tyler Williamson. Tyler is one of my fellow PGY-1's at UT San Antonio. Tyler matched into Orthopedic Surgery this past year. In this episode Tyler shares his experience about what it took to be the first student to match Orthopedic Surgery from our newer DO school. He shares his advice on how to choose a specialty, how to decide where to do Sub-I’s and how to stand out on Sub I's,  the importance of research, and how to study and enjoy the medical school experience. He also shared his med school journey and how much he enjoyed the relationships he made. It was a pleasure having Tyler on the show and I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did

    Episode 2: Marriage + Kids & Med School?

    On this week’s episode I’m joined by my wife Yasmin. She shares with us the medical school/residency experience from the perspective of a partner, wife, and mother to children. Yasmin talks a little bit about how we met,  what it has been like being married to a student and resident, how she manages her time with 3 kids and her work, and  most importantly her advice to others who are currently supporting medical students and residents during this busy time in life.

    Episode 1: How to Manage the Didactic Years of Medical School

    On this week’s episode we have special friends of mine Dr. Christina Sanchez, a pediatric resident currently completing her residency in Oklahoma and Joshua Ibarra, an internal medicine resident completing his residency in Chicago. We discuss how we survived the didactic years of medical school which includes what resources we used, how we maintained our personal lives, and how we prepared for boards. We also share some of our favorite memories from our study group, as well as the Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Ibarra’s engagement
