Coming off of Met Gala I thought I’d do some light fun yap about how history is always repeating itself as a result of colonialism and the mental colonization that consumes us all. In this week’s episode, “Moving Out and Realizing U Were a Prude All Along,” I sat down with my twin flame—someone I shared a bed with for four months—to talk about what it’s really like moving back home after college. We get into how weird it is to be a young brown girl navigating freedom, identity, and family dynamics post-grad. From the perspective of someone who OD'd the freedom of college life (getting food at 3 AM), to growing up with strict parents, to suddenly being on your own at a PWI, and then choosing to return home for free rent—it’s a mix of realizations, tension, and growth.
