Sunshine & Lollipops: Welcome To Dubai's Underworld
by Brazen
Betrayal, glamor and £100 million stuffed into high end suitcases. COMING SOON from Brazen, this is the true story of Dubai's unlikely money mules. In 2020, an invitation to a WhatsApp chat group called "Sunshine and Lollipops" marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey for a group of friends. The offer was alluring: a glamorous side hustle as couriers, moving investment cash for Dubai’s royal family. It was a world of luxury, rolling through Heathrow with millions in cash inside high-end suitcases, chauffeured cars, business class flights, and five-star hotel stop-overs.That is, until the arrests start. Some couriers are put in cuffs at the airport, others have their homes raided at dawn by police. In fact, more than 20 people are put in cuffs, many facing more than a decade in prison on money laundering charges. Because there was no royal sheik behind the scenes of this scheme. Instead, there were shadowy organised crime groups and a tsunami of dirty money.
