Survival Mode

The purpose of Survival Mode is to reach and encourage women, men, anyone, and everyone - especially persons of color-, to talk more about their mental health and childhood and relationship trauma. And to encourage people to look within themselves and find what nourishes their soul and spirit. To find what their purpose is calling them to do, not just what society has told them they have to do to be “successful”. We want to broaden the scope for talking about the core beliefs many people have about themselves. Survival Mode’s goal is to get people to talk about the lives they have lived and the introspection they have formed because of it. We want people - including ourselves-, to learn to be okay with living within their truest form of authenticity! We want to recall the experiences that we felt “changed” us in our youth, whether that be the first heartbreak you experienced, the first sign of emotional neglect from your parents, or the first signs of addiction from earthly substanc

Survival Mode: Episode 1 Why We Date Our Parents

Hello,In this episode of survival mode, we talk about what it's like dating our parents. That may sound daunting and kind of strange, but we mean it in a metaphorical sense. In essence, what it's like growing up seeking out the same traits in our significant others that we mirror in our parents, guardians, or loved ones. Sometimes these traits are positive, and we end up finding the love of our life...sometimes they're not so positive and can lead us to heartbreak and emotional trauma, so why do we do this? Whether its unconscious or conscious...what is it that causes us to do this, and what are the repercussions?Music: Gold by AJ Super (The Quiet)
