Merry Humbug - Suicide Prevention, Trauma & December Message in a Bottle .mp3
This is the 1st Survivor2Survivor message in a bottle episode as part of a soft launch for Foundation for Understanding Complex Trauma, FUCT. Description (with Trigger Warnings & Disclaimer) Trigger Warning: This message includes discussion of lived CPTSD, PTSD, trauma, disability, traumatic bereavement (including loss by fire), exploitation, and assault, including non‑graphic reference to sexual assault. It is honest, heartfelt, raw and may be activating. Please take care with yourself while listening. Disclaimer: This is not therapy or professional support, nor is it meant to substitute for them. It is one survivor sending a message in a bottle to another — an attempt to break silence. If anything here feels overwhelming, please reach out to someone you trust or contact a crisis line or support service in your area. About This Message: December can be a harsh month for anyone carrying trauma, grief, or the weight of memories that don’t match the “season of joy.” Many people struggle silently or alone at this time of year, and this message exists to offer connection without pressure, judgement, or any expectation that you perform or present yourself a certain way. It speaks openly about and deeply ablut living with CPTSD, PTSD, disability, traumatic loss, and the kinds of experiences that often go unspoken. Exploitation and assault, are spoken of. Sexual assault is referenced to honour truth. None of this is ever for gratification. This message neither glamorises pain nor insists on “strength” as a spectacle or inspiration. It offers real honesty, raw recognition, and the hope that hearing another person name these hidden things might make the month feel a little less isolating. Take what resonates, leave what doesn’t, and please — for this stranger, if not yet for yourself — keep going, breath by breath.
