    Ambika Adhikari -From rural Nepal to planning urban cities in USA

    Ambika P. Adhikari is a Principal Planner with the City of Tempe, Arizona, USA, where he heads its Long Range Planning Division. He has more than 35 years of experience in urban and environmental planning and international development including in the US, Canada, Nepal, India, Mexico, Fiji, and Kenya. He is a Distinguished Adjunct Fellow at the Institute of Integrated Development Studies (IIDS), Nepal. He obtained his Doctor of Design (DDes) degree from Harvard University and Master of Architecture from the University of Hawaii. He has authored one and coedited six books, and published widely in journals and newspapers.

Previously, he served as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Nepal on InternationalAffairs and the Peace Process; asCo-Chairofthe UN Secretary-General’s IndependentAccountability Panel for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescent Health; and as Board member of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI);andOXFAM-GB. Gautam is the author of several books including hisAtmaKathain Nepali (2022), GlobalCitizen from Gulmi: My Journey from the Hills of Nepal to the Halls of United Nations(2018) &Lost in Transition: Rebuilding Nepal from the Maoist Mayhem and MegaEarthquake(2015). A citizen of Nepal, Gautam got his higher education in international relations and development economics at Dartmouth College and Princeton University in the USA.

    Episode 11: Deepa Dahal

    For our eleventh episode, TGND Beats presents Deepa Dahal. Deepa was born in Kathmandu and enjoyed a happy childhood with her large extended family in Nepal. When she was ten, her parents moved to the United States to pursue their academic careers and she moved with them, spending the next few years of her life in Moscow, Idaho. Deepa went on to earn a Business degree from the University of Idaho and then pursued her MBA at the University of New Hampshire. After completing her education, Deepa moved to New York City to begin her career in management consulting, specializing in the healthcare industry. She spent a decade working in this field before taking a career break to travel extensively throughout Latin America. Along the way, she studied Spanish, danced, and soaked up the local culture. Later, she began working as a freelancer and exploring the digital nomad lifestyle, spending months in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, and back in Nepal. When a good friend and colleague approached her about starting a company together, Deepa moved back to the United States and co-founded DKI Health, a life sciences consulting firm based in New York City. Today, she lives in Seattle and continues to oversee the company's consulting practice, which has grown into an exciting and rewarding professional venture. With a passion for travel and a deep interest in the healthcare industry, Deepa brings a unique perspective and diverse skill set to her work. She is committed to helping her clients and teams succeed and making a positive impact in the world.

Pema Sherpa is the founder of Pema Solutions whereas a Keynote speaker and corporate trainer, she helps organizations boost employee productivity, performance, and innovation.     Our guest for the sixth episode is Sam Thapaliya. Sam is an entrepreneur, programmer, AI infrastructure and blockchain engineer from Nepal. He is the founder of Zebec,a  real-time, frictionless, and continuous streams of payments. He is also one of core contributors of Nautilus and founding advisor of Cedro and Eclipse. Since its inception in 2020, Zebec has raised over $35M in funding. Companies he has advised have gone on to raise millions of dollars.  Sam completed his bachelor's degree at Menlo College in information systems. And while at college he has published 2 US patents on models for monetization of videos.

He was the Co-Founder of Lacuna Diagnostics (acquired by Heska), a networking platform for hospitals and pathologists, and kDuo Productions, a radio app for 60+ countries. With an educational background in business administration and chemistry, Bikul has various experiences in Biotech, Edtech, and Veterinary Medicine.     Our guest for the fourth episode is Nirnaya Lohani. Nirnaya is a Chief of Staff for LMS Marketing at LinkedIn and has over 15 years of experience working in Consulting, Strategy, and Program Management. She is also the communications co-lead for North America’s chapter of Women@LinkedIn which is one of the largest Employee Resource Groups (ERG) that aims to : 1. build an inclusive community of women and allies. 2. uplift women and those who identify as women in the workforce 3. empower and enable them to find their voice. She is passionate about mentoring and developing a new generation of leaders.

    Episode 3: Gaurika Singh

    Our guest for the third episode is Gaurika Singh. She is a Nepali swimmer that is known for being the youngest athlete to represent Nepal at the Olympics, having competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics at just 13 years old. Recently, she also made the Forbes 30 under 30 lists. She also participated in various international competitions for Nepal, including the 2015 and 2019 FINA World Championships in Russia and South Korea. In the South Asian Games, she won a total of four gold medals, two silvers, and three bronzes. Gaurika completed her high school in the UK and is pursuing a degree in international relations at Tufts University, where she continues to train and compete in swimming events. She is passionate about inspiring young people, especially girls, to pursue their dreams and believe in themselves.
