He is a teacher for students learning English as a second language and loves using music to understand both language and culture. He idolizes Bear Grylls and in his free time he is often hiking or kayaking in the mountains of northern Utah with his brother and sister. His beautiful story.January 9th was a cold and windy day in the quiet industrial town of Ogden. Jason and Amanda Carlton had been expecting their first son for nearly 9 months and were both feeling that anxious excitement that often foreshadows such life-changing moments. The last minute switch of hospitals did little to ease the tension and family members were waiting outside eagerly for news of the delivery. Hours seemed to pass by as weeks before the doctor greeted the visitors and ushered them inside the room to see both mother and child. Amanda was holding Andrew, wrapped, as newborns often are, in those simple blue and white blankets. She was looking at firstborn son with eyes of pure love and joy that held no trace of the agony she had so recently endured. “He’s perfect,” she muttered, to no one in particular. She had no way of knowing just how right she would be.
