In reference to our previous episode on conventions, this episode provides practicals in how to prepare for the convention and what to expect at the event. Learn the names of companies that are looking for full time positions vs. internships as well as how to approach the booths, elevator pitches, and interview tips. Other tips provided are how to present yourself in your business attire and networking on LinkedIn.

Hear about our co-host’s experience along with a special guest to learn about the Society of Women Engineers convention (SWE) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers conference (SHPE)! Here, two engineers discuss what conferences are, what they hoped to get out of it, their personal experience day-by-day, and personal results from attending! Learn about companies that are looking for internships vs. full-time, where the following episode will discuss practicals to best prepare you for a convention from personal experiences. 

We are back! Learn about what our co-hosts did over the summer (e.g., internship at Centella, research at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, sad boi MCAT studying). The co-hosts discuss outlooks on senior year and possible next steps after graduation.

At the annual Senior Design Expo that occurs at the end of the spring semester is the hard-work that each engineering team gets to showcase to the public at the University of Miami. One of our co-hosts interviewed the BME teams by giving each team 60 seconds to describe their project and explain where they were going after graduation. For the last (official) episode of the semester, our three co-hosts invite a friendly international student majoring in BME! The guest speaker shares her experiences of being away from home, culture shocks, obstacles in obtaining internship and research opportunities, and potential career plans after graduation. Special feature includes our co-host post MCAT!

Our three co-hosts freestyle a "mental health" episode where we discuss experiences and updates occurring in the last semester of junior year. Examples include an acceptance into the 5-Year BS/MS program, elected to a President position of a hip-hop team, studying for the MCAT that will be taken this week, appointed as the Director of Academic Affairs for Student Government, preparing for RCIF, and making moves with help of GDip's matchmaking skills.

Our three co-hosts unite once again and are joined with a highly impressive guest speaker: a senior in BME who is also in the Medical Scholars Program (MSP)! Starting as a med student in the Miller School of Medicine next fall, our guest speaker shares insights on the MSP application process. The conversation shifts as the guest speaker and one co-host provides perspective on why they stayed on the pre-med track, while our other two co-hosts elaborate on why they left. Both point of views are shown on initial motivations for pursuing medicine, differences in college experiences, and guidance for students considering to switch.

Two of our co-hosts invite one unique guest speaker: the Vice President of External Affairs for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)! Also Co-President of UMaker, our guest speaker talks about her summer internship at Medtronic as well as advice for obtaining one, what companies look for, intern positions beyond R&D, and her upcoming internship with Stryker. In the latter half of the episode, the discussion briefly shifts to being children of immigrant parents and how it impacts our perspectives on our academic and professional careers.

Two of our co-hosts invite two guest speakers: the President of Tau Beta Pi and the Social Media Ambassador of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), who both participated in the summer Study Abroad program in Florence, Italy! They share insights of the organizations' missions and their unique experiences of the Study Abroad program targeted for BMEs.
