Rachel talked about the importance of keeping mental health top of mind for all of us with some tips for everyone to maintain and improve their mental health. She also talked about how good it is for public figures, like Eduard Lowen, to talk openly about mental struggles and when to know if you, or someone you love, might want to seek help for mental health and how to do that.

    During the Y98 pregame show, Jen Siess shared thoughts from CITY Midfielder, Daniel Edelman, ahead of the team’s midweek match hosting LAFC. Edelman talked about some mixed feelings over the team’s 1-0 win at Colorado, stressing the continued focus on discipline in closing out games. He also talked about his partnership with Chris Durkin in the double pivot and how he’ll miss having that facing LAFC with Durkin out on yellow card accumulation. Finally, Edelman expressed pride in continued improved performance for the team, finding redemption against LAFC, and closing out strong before the World Cup break.

    During the Y98 pregame show, Dale Schilly caught up with CITY Head Coach, Yoann Damet, ahead of the team’s midweek match hosting LAFC. Coach Damet talked about his pride in the team grinding out the 1-0 win in Colorado by forcing their opponent to play around the CITY structured defense. He also talked about how important it is to utilize players’ strengths, such as Sangbin Jeong and Simon Becher stretching defenses. Finally, Damet addressed the congested schedule of 5 games in 15 days and how they plan to focus more on recovery to keep players healthy and achieve results before the World Cup break.

    During the Y98 halftime show, Jen Siess visited with Elvir Kafedžić, Assistant Coach for CITY 2. The Bosnian member of staff shared his journey from youth soccer, to a Lindenwood soccer championship, playing for the St. Louis Steamers, creating his own youth club with the St. Louis Dragons, and now part of the coaching staff for St. Louis CITY SC. Along with fellow members of the STL Bosnian community, Elvir shared excitement for CITY's “Summer of Soccer Presented by Purina” which will welcome Bosnia and Herzegovina’s National Team for training with an international friendly against World Cup-qualified Panama on Saturday, June 6th.

    During the Y98 pregame show, Jen Siess visited Lukas MacNaughton, one of CITY’s Centerbacks in the 3-back line, head of the team’s road match out west to the Mile-High City to face the Colorado Rapids. MacNaughton talked about his journey from youth play to CITY preseason trialist to subbing in for big moments and starting when needed by the team. The CB also shared his thoughts on the importance of taking personal pride in defensive actions that don’t make the highlight reel, measuring risk versus reward, and how he wouldn’t mind scoring a diving header at the near post.

Coach Damet stressed the continued importance of the team capitalizing on key moments, a lesson learned from a missed opportunity against Austin. He also shared his thoughts on encouraging the squad to play more bravely going forward, staying intentional on both sides of the ball, and their plans to manage player health and freshness heading into 5 games in 15 days before the MLS break for the FIFA World Cup.

    During the Y98 halftime show, Jen Siess visited with Mr. Soccer, Bill McDermott to talk all things soccer. Bill talked about the massive CITY away in Chicago to secure a spot in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup quarterfinals (a first for the club) and the importance of St. Louis’ ongoing representation in America’s oldest soccer tournament. He also addressed the significance of Eduard Lowen’s return and that the best is yet to come from CITY’s #10. Last, but not least, Mr. Soccer gave us a preview of what it will be like when the world’s largest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup (this time on the Men’s side) comes to Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

    During the Y98 pregame show, Jen Siess shared thoughts from CITY Centerback, Dante Polvara, ahead of the team’s road match facing Austin FC. Polvara talked about building off an imperfect performance against the Chicago Fire, yet it was one that still got the victory to send the team to the quarterfinals. Baumgartl talked about his adaptation to St. Louis since arriving a year prior, debuting in the MLS as a striker before playing his natural centerback position, and his more consistent playing time in the roster this season with high touches on the ball. The 85-er talked about her experience in The Beautiful Game alongside 16 other teammates who did it all with very few resources. Ruth also talked about her recent visit to Seattle to honor the USWNT GOAT., her teammate and friend, Michelle Akers, who accomplished so much and continues to advocate for girls and women in the game. Finally, Jen and Ruth discussed the newest change in the game with FIFA mandating that all women’s teams have at least one woman coach on the bench in the efforts to accelerate parity in the game.

    During the Y98 halftime show, Jen Siess visited in-booth with Ricky Proehl, former NFL Wide Receiver and Head Coach for the St. Louis Battlehawks. The former wide receiver talked about that storied catch in January 2000 that propelled the St. Louis Rams to the Superbowl. The conversation then turned toward the Battlehawks, currently in training camp and preparing for the UFL season start at the end of March. Proehl talked about figuring out this season's team with a core group of returning players, building a team culture, adjusting his coaching to benefit each player, and his gratitude for being back in St. Louis which is the home of so many great memories for him and his family.

Molina talked about his enjoyment of the CITY Energizer Park experience and how he works with his Play-by-Play partner, Polo Ascencio, to bring their baseball broadcast to life. Molina also shared his passion for working in the community in St. Louis and Puerto Rico, plus talked about his book that will be made into a movie - "Molina: The Story of the Father Who Raised an Unlikely Baseball Dynasty”.
