Mr. Dibbs on Strange Famous, Cincinnati DNA, and Why This One Hits Different

Mr. Dibbs returns to The DOD45 Show to kick off 2026 with a focused, funny, and strangely revealing conversation that covers Ohio origins, tour life, Strange Famous energy, and the kind of everyday questions that accidentally expose your entire personality. Dibbs is a Cincinnati lifer, DJ, producer, artist, and one of the key architects of Midwest underground hip hop. His new album Ohio Dirt is landing on Strange Famous Records, and we talk about what it means for that record to live in that world. We also circle back to multiple eras of Dibbs releases and let the memories show up if they want to. Did you know Dibbs has publicly written about Deadworld Reborn taking on deeper meaning after a medical incident where he briefly died for about 53 seconds, with the project becoming tied to tribute and preservation. Movie shares Good Fortune directed by Aziz Ansari Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKWndx83RwQ IMDb describes it as involving an inept angel meddling in the lives of a gig worker and a wealthy venture capitalist. SAGE FRANCIS COMES CLEAN ABOUT THE ACID BEING PUT IN T-SHIRTS!” - Sage Francis on The DOD45 Show

Sage Francis on The DOD45 Show | Episode 120 A New Year conversation with one of independent hip hop’s most thoughtful voices. In this episode of The DOD45 Show, we’re joined by Sage Francis, rapper, poet, label head, and founding force behind Strange Famous Records. This is a focused, reflective discussion about memory, internet culture, touring, creative longevity, and what it means to speak honestly while moments are still unfolding. We talk about growing up in the same cultural era without living the same life, how pop culture imprints differently when you’re young, and why comment sections have become their own strange ecosystems. Sage also reflects on touring with Winter Carnival, Strange Famous community lore, and how creative priorities shift with time. No press cycle energy. Just conversation. 🎬 Movie Recommendation Megalopolis directed by Francis Ford Coppola An ambitious, polarizing film that feels like a master filmmaker taking one final, unapologetic swing. Not built for fast consumption. Best experienced with patience. On this episode of The DOD45 Show we sit down with two of the funniest and most genuine creators in the Strange Famous orbit. Jesse the Tree and Mopes join us to talk about their brand new Strange Famous Records album Worm in Heaven and the conversation swings from deep introspection to absolute comedy with no warning at all. Nnamdi's First Visit With The DOD45 Show: Episode 119

Chicago’s multi-instrumental enigma NNAMDÏ crashes into The DOD45 Show for his very first visit, and this one goes everywhere. From math-rock chaos to hip-hop confessionals to avant-pop surrealism, NNAMDÏ opens up about the creative impulse that refuses to obey genre, job security, or even gravity. Born to Nigerian parents, armed with an electrical-engineering degree he’ll probably never use again, NNAMDÏ walks us through the leap from “safe” life to full-time sonic adventure. We talk about finding peace in the noise, what it costs to stay independent, and why humor might be the most radical instrument in music. We unpack the layered insanity of his albums Brat and Please Have a Seat, and touch the early weirdness of “Scarlett Johansson” and “Vasectomy,” and suggest “Let Go of My Ego” as the moment he learned to stop explaining himself. Then we break the format and dive into the DOD45 gauntlet: 🌀 If reincarnation’s real, which fly species does NNAMDÏ choose — dragon, house, butter, or may? 🌀 Who's getting the vote... Kendrick or Björk? 🌀 Wet the toothbrush before or after the toothpaste? 🌀 Cats or Synths? Harp or Recorder? Beach sunrise or City sunrise? 🌀 And somehow Mr. T comes up, and so do eyelashes? (He has answers… and they’re beautifully strange.) When Mr. Dibbs bursts in with a “Mayo or Miracle Whip” blitz, NNAMDÏ's asked to throw Tai into a vat of either.... which spirals into pitting Nirvana vs Nine Inch Nails and Sooper Records vs Super Mario... NNAMDÏ doesn’t flinch. He just laughs, reflects, and somehow turns it all philosophical. 🎬 Movie Share: I’m Thinking of Ending Things... Charlie Kaufman’s brain-bender starring Jessie Buckley. A film that bends identity and time the same way NNAMDÏ bends genre and expectation. 🎧 Music Shares: • “57 Ways to Die” by Lord Toozy & J57... dark humor with a killer pulse. • “Future Now” by Fritz Cook... a hopeful groove about persistence and strange beauty. 💻 Other Key Links ArtByTai – https://www.instagram.com/artbytai   DOD45 – https://www.instagram.com/dod45w   Strange Famous Records – https://StrangeFamousRecords.com   Mr Dibbs – https://MrDibbs.com   Speakerface Store – https://Speakerface.Store   🎧 DOD45 LUVS Playlist: https://tidal.com/playlist/9dd15982-32da-45a5-87d6-21be12e911a4  f you love fearless art, unfiltered conversation, and creative minds that color outside the frame, hit LIKE, COMMENT, SUBSCRIBE, and SHARE this episode. Slugghead Returns to The DOD45 Show: Episode 118

The 2025 Halloween episode of The DOD45 Show brings back sibling band Slughead for 45 minutes of spooky fun, underground hip-hop energy, and live drawing. We set the timer, put pen to paper, and create an original black-and-white piece in real time while talking Halloween movies, haunted house memories, and the band’s origin story. If you enjoy podcasts, Halloween, drawing, art, and the independent music ecosystem that connects artists like Sage Francis and Mr. Dibbs, you’re in the right place. You’ll hear clips and references spanning Slughead’s catalog, from “Vamps in Space” to “This Album Is Haunted” and Jimmy Cry, plus talk of their upcoming EP “Tales of Sweat and Stink.” We dig into the creative process behind tracks like “Serpent King,” “I Am Da Moon,” and live favorites “We Hate You, Ross” and “Fly Vampire,” and we talk about samples, synths, and why the band leans into eerie, playful storytelling. Sage Francis drops in with a thoughtful question pulled from the socials. Mr. Dibbs gets his flowers as he preps for tour. And as always, the drawing unfolds on camera while we run rapid-fire Halloween questions, swap horror recommendations, and keep the energy loose and candid. If you’re a fan of underground hip-hop, Strange Famous Records, or rising indie bands like Nalei and Slughead, this is a perfect October watch. Sage Francis + Strange Famous Beach Bash Recap | DOD45 Show | Series 8

We are back from a short hiatus, still deep in Series 8 of The DOD45 Show. Episodes are less frequent now with the ArtByTai art tour schedule, but when they land, they land big. Yes, this one runs long. We don’t care. We are not a podcast, we are a SHOW. It is free, we love it, and if you think it is too long, either watch it or don’t. Complaining about it is like complaining that a mural is too wide. The episode kicks off with Tai’s recap of his trip to San Francisco for the Handsmade Collective Dax Pierson Tribute Show, where he spent time with Jel of Anticon, Doseone, M. Sayyid, and Handsmade founder Zack. It was a moving night of music and visuals at the Gray Area Theater, honoring Dax Pierson of Subtle and 13 & God. Tai also drops an unofficial announcement of the DOD45 Compilation Album... nearly every past guest is on board, with beats in hand from Buck 65, Blockhead, Steel Tipped Dove, Mike Ladd, Remi Rough, DJ Zole, DJ Criminal and more, plus interludes by Mr. Dibbs. See details here. From there, the bulk of the episode dives into a full recap of the Strange Famous Ocean Mist Beach Bash in Rhode Island. Tai and Adrienne sit down with Sage Francis to laugh through memories of the show, the pizza party hosted by Early Adopted, and a gloriously chaotic whiffle ball game with the Strange Famous family. Short drop-ins from the crew Storm Davis, Mopes, Jesse the Tree, Metermaids, BlackLiq, Early Adopted, Cas One, and Seez Mics make this a true Strange Famous celebration. Packed with laughs, footage, and a whole lot of love for independent hip hop, this episode is basically a family reunion on camera. 🎬 Movie and 🎵 Music Recommendations 🍿 Film: The Ballad of Wallis Island Watch here A British comedy drama starring Tim Key as a widower who hires his favorite musician for a private concert. BlackLiq - DOD45 Show: Episode 115 – (Series 8)

🎙 Much Given, Much Tested — And Now, Much Revealed 🔥 This is a brand-new Series 8 episode of The DOD45 Show! We’re well into the hundreds now, and who better to help us burn into the next era than lyrical powerhouse, Richmond emcee, educator, and WRIR radio host BlackLiq. In this high-voltage episode, we go track-by-track through BlackLiq’s album Much Given, Much Tested and dive headfirst into everything from parenting and pressure to calling out predators by name and writing verses that linger in your bones. Tai draws imagery from the album live while BlackLiq answers a relentless parade of deep, absurd, and revealing questions: • Would he rather lose a toe in a kung-fu tournament or a finger in a table saw accident? • What time of day does he eat lunch—and does it ruin everything? • What trauma still sits in his lyrics? Plus: • The return of Mr. Dibbs for the “Mayo vs. Miracle Whip” debate • Our “First, Worst, Thirst” segment with some brutal crowd stories • Wild hypotheticals about Nicolas Cage • Shoutouts to Slug, Sa-Roc, Haphduzn, Mopes, Michael Alan Alien, Noah-O, and more • And a taste of what makes BlackLiq one of the most honest voices in indie rap today 🎬 Episode Movie Recommendation: Athena (2022) – Directed by Romain Gavras An explosive French action-drama about three brothers reeling from the killing of their youngest sibling by police. Taryn Manning – Gold Juice Drama, Boomkat Vibes & MASH Night!

📌 This is a past episode of The DOD45 Show. In this electric conversation, Tai sits down with actor, musician, and unpredictable pop-culture lightning rod Taryn Manning. From her viral "Gold Juice" saga to sharing deep thoughts about rhinos and poop (yes… poop), this is the kind of episode that swerves when you expect it to cruise. 🎤 Inside the Episode: Her breakout roles in 8 Mile, Crossroads, and Orange Is the New Black A candid reflection on media pile-ons after the Whitney Cummings Podcast Stories from her time fronting the band Boomkat and launching her solo career The bizarrely beautiful story behind her web series Sht Happens*—yes, inspired by a real Instagram post A surprise segment with Sage Francis, who pulls up a 2012 social media post that leads to a hilarious tangent A childhood game of MASH reveals her alternate life path “The Dish” rapid-fire segment: first concert, first paid gig, and surviving a freakin’ plane crash 🎧 Music Recommendations: "Predator Place" – Doseone An experimental hip-hop banger that rattles the brain and punches holes through genre boundaries. Doseone’s distinct flow turns words into sound art. "Cell Therapy" – Goodie Mob A grown-man track from one of Southern rap’s most reflective crews. This song dives into introspection and self-awareness without ever sounding corny. 💡 Did You Know?Taryn once opened for De La Soul on tour with Boomkat. She also voiced a character in the video game Scarface: The World Is Yours and once claimed she identifies more with animals than people—which explains the rhino. 🎥 Movie Recommendation: Maggie Moore(s) – Trailer This 2023 black comedy mystery blends dark humor with small-town crime suspense. Jon Hamm and Tina Fey shine in this slow-building, character-driven whodunnit that critics called “Coen-lite, but full of charm.” 🎶 Get more music shared on the show: 👉 DOD45 Luvs Song Share Spotify Playlist 💻 Stay connected: ArtByTai: @artbytai DOD45: @dod45w Strange Famous Records: strangefamousrecords.com Mr. Dibbs: mrdibbs.com Speakerface Store: speakerface.store ⭐️ If you dig what we’re doing, subscribe, rate, and leave a review. Runt (Jivin Scientists) on DOD45 – ReRelease of Episode 63

Runt of Jivin Scientists joins Tai & Adrienne for a deep-digging episode that hits all the good spots—Strange Famous Records, DuckTales nostalgia, desert survival, fishing tales, and the unexpected power of beard oil. It’s a laid-back, layered conversation with one of Tucson’s most underrated hip-hop voices. The trio dives into the creation of Cicada, the Jivin Scientists' first release on Strange Famous Records, and Runt opens up about balancing a 20+ year music grind with his day-to-day running Thunder Canyon Brewery—Tucson’s oldest brewing brand. This episode is Tucson-flavored, beer-scented, and hip-hop heavy in all the best ways. 🎬 Movie Share: 🎞 Turbo Kid – This 2015 post-apocalyptic BMX joyride is equal parts gore and nostalgia. Think Mad Max meets Stranger Things, with synths and sawblades. ▶ Watch Trailer 🎵 Song Shares: – “Three Sisters” by Jay Tillman – A dusty, southern gothic ballad dripping with atmosphere and tension. – “The Floor” by Buck 65 – Spoken-word storytelling at its finest. Grapetooth, Wheelchair Sports Camp & A Van Breakdown Story – ArtByTai (NEVER-BEFORE-AIRED) | DOD45 Ep. 64.5

🎧 Spotify Show Notes: 🚨 THIS EPISODE HAS NEVER AIRED… UNTIL NOW. That’s right—Episode 64.5 of The DOD45 Show sat in the vault, untouched and unheard, until today. Whether it was lost in the chaos or just forgotten by time, this unreleased short-format gem is finally getting its spotlight. No guest this round, just 15 raw minutes of Cryptic Collab drawing action, paired with a deeply human road story about a desert van breakdown, no cell service, and the early days of hustling ArtByTai across the country. If you’ve ever wondered what it really takes to build something from the ground up—this is that story. 🎵 SONG SHARES: • “Infinite Source” by Grapetooth – Dreamy synths, moody vibes, and a taste of beautifully unpolished indie chaos. Think Twin Shadow meets early MGMT. • “At (Moves)” by The Temps ft. Wheelchair Sports Camp – From comedian James Acaster’s experimental band. It’s weird, wonderful, and defies genre rules—featuring underground hip-hop royalty Wheelchair Sports Camp. 🎬 MOVIE-ISH MENTION: Not a formal movie share this time, but Tai reflects on Watsky’s “Exquisite Corpse” track and how it inspired his family’s collaborative drawing game. It’s chaotic, layered, and beautifully bizarre—exactly the kind of creative mess we love. 🧠 Did you know? Watsky’s “Exquisite Corpse” features verses from 9 different artists over 9 minutes. It was recorded during quarantine and praised by fans for its dystopian poetry-meets-speed-rap style. Tai’s own Cryptic Collabs are a visual echo of that chaos—drawn in parts, unseen until the final reveal. 🎧 Explore more sonic goodness: 📀 DOD45 Luvs Song Share Playlist 💻 Stay connected: 🖌️ ArtByTai 🎙️ DOD45 🌐 Strange Famous Records 🎧 Mr. Dibbs 🧢 Speakerface Store 🙏 Don’t forget to rate, review, and share with your weirdest, most creative friends. Clipping, Milo, Cryptic Collabs & Chaos – DOD45 Show Ep. 64 (PAST EPISODE)

🎙️ 📢 This is a rerelease of DOD45 Episode 64, originally aired on May 31, 2023. No guest, no rules—just ArtByTai doing what he does best: drawing chaos and talking about life. This quick-hit 15-minute episode dives into a live Cryptic Collab drawing session using the classic surrealist Exquisite Corpse method—with help from Tai’s kids. There’s some banter about algorithm nonsense, upcoming shows, pinched nerves, ghost stories that don’t get told, and a few memorable music recs. 🎧 SONG SHARES • Nothing Is Safe – Clipping A horrorcore masterclass in tension and storytelling. David Diggs (of Hamilton fame) spits cinematic terror over twitchy industrial beats. • Wyrmlands – HMLTD Prog-pop? Post-punk? Victorian jazz-metal fever dream? Either way, it slaps. Loud. British art rock at its wildest. • Almond Milk Paradise – Milo Lyrical acrobatics and poetic introspection from one of the underground’s sharpest pens. “I can rebuild Castle Grayskull from a pile of dirty laundry...” Enough said. 🎬 MOVIE SHARE • The Orator (Trailer) A stunning film from Samoa about a man of short stature finding his voice in a society that discounts him. Subtle, profound, and deeply human. 💥 Did You Know? Tai’s “Cryptic Collab” series has included live pieces with Sean Coss, Kelly Clank, and even street artists at live shows. He’s been reviving the format for festival booths and DOD45 segments, making spontaneous art with fans and guests alike. 🎧 More music Tai loves: Check out the DOD45 Luvs Song Share Playlist 📢 If you dig what we’re doing, please take a moment to leave a review, share with your people, and subscribe on your favorite platform. Ep 49 – Underground with Thorts: A DOD45 Global Link-Up

Remember back in Series 4 when we were finally getting our act together? Yeah, this episode dropped Feb 15, 2023—we had new Mr. Dibbs theme music, tighter pacing, actual flow... and a podcast host still drawing mutant animals in real time. We’d evolved a ton since the chaotic mess of Series 3. But now that we’re deep into Series 8, we’re re-releasing this wild, wormhole of an episode because—get this—Spotify terminated our original account like absolute maniacs. Yep, they nuked our entire podcast history. So we’re bringing them back. All of 'em. As many past episodes as we can, as often as we can... because they deserve to be seen, heard, and weirded out over. Just like this one. In Episode 49, Tai (@ArtByTai) and Adrienne crossed time zones, hemispheres, and possibly dimensions to beam in Aussie underground wordsmith @Thorts for a proper cross-continent convo: 🌏 2 Countries 🕒 2 Time Zones 📆 2 Days Apart 🐱 1 Cat-Morphed-Into-a-Quokka-Skyscraper Drawing That’s right. While Tai warped Thorts’ beloved cat Frank into a surreal Quokka/Taipei 101 hybrid, the convo bounced between: 🐨 Unhinged Australia-centric hypotheticals 🎤 Thorts’ rabbit-hole journey into hip-hop 🎶 His encyclopedic list of collabs & solo projects 🇨🇦 A weird detour into Saskatoon rap scenes (don’t ask) 👀 And Sage Francis dropping in to blindside Thorts with a throwback moniker during our Sage’s Social Media Lurksegment ✨ DID YOU KNOW? Thorts has been a true international collab machine since the early 2000s—working with underground artists across the US, UK, Canada, and Europe. His album Bleeding Heart Muzik was hailed by Oz indie circles for its haunting lyricism and anti-commercial ethos. He’s a poet in skate shoes. Also: Quokkas are known as “the happiest animals on Earth”—and honestly, this chat has that exact energy. 💥 So yeah, if you dig what we’re doing on The DOD45 Show, don’t be a lurker: Rate it. 🎙 EPISODE 48 (Re-release) - Eligh of Living Legends Manifesting Mayhem & Fatherhood Feels

Originally dropped on Feb 8, 2023 during our all-killer, no-filler Series 4, this episode marked a turning point for The DOD45 Show. We had finally cracked the format code, the pacing hit like a perfect beat drop, and Mr. Dibbs had just laced us with our now-iconic theme music. The evolution from Series 3? Massive. Were we at our current post-Series-7 peak? Not yet. But the monster was waking up... 💥 And then... Spotify did the dumbest thing imaginable: terminated our entire podcast account. Yup. No warning, no explanation, just poof. So now, we’re re-releasing this gem (and all the others!) between new Series 8 drops because this convo with Eligh (of Living Legends royalty) deserves your ears all over again. 🎤 What Went Down (Back Then): Eligh got deep on reimagining the grind of touring—think longevity over burnout. Talked fatherhood in his 40s and how art fits between diaper changes and tour dates. Opened up about the wear and tear of tattooing—physically and spiritually. Shared how manifestation and mindful living are steering his second creative renaissance. 💡 And this was also the birth of a now-beloved segment: 🔥 Sage’s Social Media Lurk 🔥 Strange Famous ringleader Sage Francis popped in with our first-ever guest drop-in to expose the dark scroll holes of social media. It was messy. It was glorious. It was... the beginning. 🎯 Unhinged Side Roads Include: Robin Williams clouds, McDonald’s toys, Dukes of Hazzard, Raiders nostalgia, Bon Jovi riffs, Picabo Street (!?), and even Tom Cruise in Legend. You’ve been warned. ✨ DID YOU KNOW? Eligh credits sobriety and meditation as the fuel behind his post-Grey Crow solo evolution, and if you didn’t know—Living Legends practically wrote the book on independent hustle, hand-to-hand slinging albums out of backpacks across the West Coast way before it was a thing. 👑 Getting Eligh on DOD45 was a major moment—and yeah, maybe it’s the gateway to bringing more of the Legends into the arena. (Looking at you, Murs.) 🚨 IF YOU DIG THIS... 👉 Slam that follow button 👉 Leave us a review (takes seconds, changes lives) 👉 Share it with your crew, your cousins, and your weird neighbor who keeps asking what podcast you’re always talking about 🎨 Tai’s art & prints: www.artbytai.com 📲 Follow the chaos: @artbytai + @dod45w #Eligh #LivingLegends #DOD45Show #ArtByTai #SageFrancis #StrangeFamousRecords #PodcastReboot #ManifestationMaster #FatherhoodVibes #MrDibbsTheme #Series4Energy #SpotifyFumble #IndependentPodcastPower

Ep 47 (Reissue): Sk8 Liborius w/ Bryan Bedwell & David Blum – From Church to Skatepark to Phoenix Rising

🛹 Originally dropped Feb. 1, 2023 (Series 4) 🧯 Re-released now because Spotify fumbled the bag and torched our podcast account like a bad landlord with a grudge. 🎙️ In this pivotal Series 4 episode of The DOD45 Show, Tai (@ArtByTai) and Adrienne sat down with the two unstoppable visionaries behind Sk8 Liborius — Bryan Bedwell and David Blum — who took a crumbling Gothic Revival church in St. Louis and turned it into a punk palace, underground skate utopia, and creative sanctuary for the misfit masses. 👂 If you missed this when it first aired, now’s your second chance to catch one of the most inspiring conversations from the season where we finally figured out the format. We had Mr. Dibbs on intro beats, we were firing on all cylinders, but still short of the weird beautiful chaos we hit post-Series 7. 🔥 Highlights from the Episode • The Church That Became a Skatepark: How an 1889 cathedral morphed into the Sk8 Liborius dreamscape. • DIY to the Core: Punk shows, rave nights, and community programs born from busted pews and board slides. • Raising the Roof (Literally): How they hoped to raise $1-4 million to lock in permits, repair the bones, and go full legit. 🕯️ Tragedy Strikes: On June 28, 2023, just months after this episode aired, a fire tore through Sk8 Liborius — gutting the church and punching every skater in the soul. The rectory’s kitchen went up first, and by the time the smoke cleared, most of the structure was gone. But the spirit? Still grinding. 🛠️ Ways to Support: • Donate to the GoFundMe – Every buck helps rebuild this icon of art and resistance. • Buy the ArtByTai tribute print – 100% goes to the rebuild fund. No middlemen, no fluff. Just support. 📜 Did You Know? • Sk8 Liborius was one of the few U.S. skateparks housed in a 19th-century cathedral listed on the National Register of Historic Places. • Before the fire, their crew hosted free events for underserved kids, hip-hop shows, even weddings (with a halfpipe backdrop). • The Sk8 Liborius community is still meeting regularly, rallying funds, and planning its resurrection. These folks don’t quit. 🎯 So Here’s What You Can Do: LISTEN. SHARE. SUBSCRIBE. REVIEW. TELL YOUR FRIEND WHO USED TO SKATE OR STILL DOES OR WISHES THEY DID. The underground doesn’t survive without the aboveground making noise for it. 🎥 Watch the full episode now on Spotify video, or just tune in while you sketch, shred, or pretend to be working. 🎙️ RE-RELEASED: The Lazerbeak Episode (Series 4 Throwback)

🚨 Originally dropped January 25th, 2023. Brought back from the grave thanks to Spotify pulling a bonehead move and killing off our entire podcast feed. (Nice one, Spotify. Real helpful.) So now we’re re-uploading every single one of our past episodes—sometimes daily—between our new Series 8 drops. You're welcome. This heater came straight outta Series 4—that glorious run when we finally locked in the pacing, sharpened the format, and debuted that fresh Mr. Dibbs-produced theme music. We were dialed in… though, yeah, still rough around the edges. But damn if we weren’t on the verge of something big. And who better to help us stretch our wings than Lazerbeak—the multi-tasking, genre-bending producer from Doomtree, Shredders, Dope Walker, and a dozen other soundscapes. This episode has Tai & Adrienne chopping it up with Beak about: 🔥 Lava Bangers II and the ten-year legacy of his breakout beat tape 🎤 Producing Lizzo’s debut (Lizzo Bangers—yep, he was there at ground zero) 🏀 Crafting the official anthem for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 2023 season 😇 Growing up religious and the oh-so-familiar childhood anxiety 😂 The first time he swore (his bike caught the heat) 🎶 His bizarrely dope playlist tastes—from Carly Rae Jepsen to El-P to Luther Vandross 💥 Bonus Round: Mr. Dibbs tosses in a wild card question about where “Lazerbeak” got his name. The answer? Let’s just say… it involves ancient robots. ✨ DID YOU KNOW? Before music became the day job, Beak was grinding nonprofit office hours by day and cooking beats by night. Man was moonlighting with mission until the leap paid off. If you’ve been ridin’ with DOD45, or you’re just now hopping on—this one’s a must-watch. 📢 DO US A SOLID: 💥 Tap Subscribe 💥 Leave a review (5-star, obviously) 💥 Share it with your crew, your niece, your barber, your ex’s new partner—we don’t judge 📺 Watch on YouTube → youtube.com/@ArtByTai 🎧 Stream the full archive → dod45.com 🛒 Grab art & merch → artbytai.com A POS, a Sims, a Lazerbeak & a Paper Tiger walk into a bar… What comes out? SHREDDERS. #DOD45Show #Lazerbeak #Doomtree #PodcastResurrected #ThanksSpotify #ArtByTai #MusicPodcast #Shredders #LavaBangers #TaiTaeoalii

🛍️ EP110 – The Sweetest of It Mall: A Deep Dive with Mally

Welcome to Series 8 of The DOD45 Show! We’re continuing with strong with Minneapolis rapper/educator MaLLy, whose new album The Sweetest of It All is pure reflection, smooth delivery, and grounded lyricism. 💿 It’s a full-length collab with Last Word (produced in NZ!), and it sounds like grown-ass rap with heart. Think: soul grooves, boom bap roots, and lyrics soaked in gratitude, clarity, and lived experience. - https://open.spotify.com/album/0CUZqw7vCDDh6ojz9Da9y7?si=lPykOl5qTR2IO-2Ef7cMBg 🎧 Highlights from the album: • “New Year, New Wave” – a reset anthem with thunder beneath it • “Dreaming” – soft-spoken self-awareness over a mellow glide • “100 Heartbreaks” – quiet devastation in controlled bars 💬 “This album exhales,” Tai says—and MaLLy confirms, it’s a project made to be felt in motion. Preferably in a Toyota 4Runner. 🗯️ Absurdity ensues as we drop into: • The Mall of America vs Giant Squeaky Necklace dilemma • Whether Mally prefers being named after Spike Lee or Bruce Lee • Why he hates the question, “So what do you do?” • Drawing an elephant with three heads • And why the Deep Ellum lady thought Tai was hired help 🎬 Movie Recommendation: Mallrats (1995) A 90s slacker cult classic from Kevin Smith, filmed in Eden Prairie Center Mall (Minnesota shoutout!) • Comic book nerds, food court crises, trench coats and Jason Lee in full flight • “That kid is back on the escalator again!” — just pure cinematic joy 🎶 Song Shares: • All We Need – Raury – Adrienne’s pick, a lush, hopeful track with gospel leanings and a teenage wisdom beyond its years • Rapture – Zoot – Tai’s eerie, lo-fi choice that feels like Burial and DJ Screw fused in an abandoned arcade. A beatmaker’s fever dream. 🎧 Don’t miss the DOD45 Luvs Playlist – a running vault of every song shared on the show. 🤝 Support Mally at his website or Instagram. Don’t just stream—buy the vinyl. 🌐 Connect: ArtByTai | Strange Famous Records 💥 New music also out now from Aesop Rock, Slugghead, and others worth diving into 🙏 If you dig the pod, leave a rating, a review, or tell your mall security officer. It helps the show more than you know. 🔚 Final thought from Mally: “We’re all connected. Be kind to one another.”

Episode 45: Tai Unleashed – Lynx Drawing, Airline Rage, and Ghost Teeth | DOD45 Series 3

Originally released January 18, 2023, this off-the-rails solo episode from Series 3 of The DOD45 Show is back as part of our full re-release blitz—dropping as many past episodes as we can (sometimes daily) between new Series 8 drops. Why? Because Spotify pulled a boneheaded move and nuked our original podcast account. So now we’re rebuilding it—louder, weirder, better. Now, let’s be clear—we don’t usually drop guest-less episodes. It’s not really our thing. We’ve always figured our audience wants the chaos of conversations, not just Tai ranting into the void. But this one? This one worked. So we’re not saying we’ll make a habit of it... but maybe we’ll throw a few in from time to time. In this one, Tai was in full tilt: no guest, no script, just 45 minutes of drawing a lynx while unloading hot takes on anything and everything. What happened: Airline travel nightmares that nearly broke him Comedians who forgot how jokes work People with zero self-awareness getting full-volume attention Adrienne on deck to fact-check, balance, and try to keep the ship from capsizing Bonus audience Q&A: Favorite graffiti artists (Tai's got opinions) Do ghosts have teeth? (We regret asking) Who really killed Tommy Boy Records? Did You Know: The lynx Tai drew during this taping became one of his fastest-completed pieces ever—and it sold before the episode even dropped Tai’s airline rage rant has been quoted back to him by fans at art shows across the country At least one graffiti artist mentioned in this ep reached out to say thanks for the unexpected love Watch more episodes or collect Tai’s art: artbytai.com/art-shop dod45.com Theme music by Mr. Dibbs: mrdibbs.bandcamp.com Support the show: If this episode made you laugh, cringe, or fist-pump in solidarity over airplane misery, do us a favor—review, subscribe, and share it. Episode 43: Illogic on Christopher Nolan, Guy Fieri, and Spaghetti Laws | DOD45 Series 3

Originally released on January 4, 2023, this gem from Series 3 of The DOD45 Show returns as part of our full podcast archive re-upload. Why the rerun? Because Spotify, in all its wisdom, decided to shut down our original podcast account—so now we’re bringing every episode back, as many as possible, sometimes daily, in between new drops from Series 8. Thanks for the detour, Spotify. By the time this one aired, we’d hit our Series 3 stride. The format had started locking in, the pacing was almost dialed, and we were finally loosening the screws enough to let the madness flow. Still not the evolved beast it is post-Series 7—but you could tell it was coming. This episode featured the triumphant return of Illogic (Jawhar Glass), fresh off nearly retiring from the mic. He joined Tai and Adrienne to talk about his album The Transition—a record of growth, change, and creative rebirth. While Tai live-drew a piece inspired by Christopher Nolan’s Memento, the conversation spiraled through music, movies, chili, laws, and laughs. What went down: Illogic’s deep love for Nolan films and how Tenet might be impossible to understand Who played Batman best (and worst), and his picks to play The Joker Imagined collaborations with Billie Eilish and Billie Holiday A Guy Fieri vs. pasta debate that turned heated (Cincinnati chili enters the chat) Mr. Dibbs dropped a surprise question that cracked everyone up A breakdown of bizarre Ohio laws And the ultimate question: Is Illogic a better fit in Kill Bill or Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure? Did You Know: Illogic is widely credited as one of the pioneers of abstract, poetic hip-hop in the underground scene. His collaborations with Blueprint and Aesop Rock helped shape an entire generation of indie lyricists. The Transition was seen by fans as one of his most personal, introspective works to date. Episode 33: Jared Knight and the DOD45 Halloween Movie List Frenzy | Series 3

Lists, Scares, and Alien Clowns: The DOD45 Halloween Special | Series 3, Episode 33 Originally released on October 26, 2022, this Halloween banger from Series 3 of The DOD45 Show is back from the crypt as part of our episode resurrection mission. We're reuploading all of our past episodes—sometimes daily, as many as we can squeeze in between our new Series 8 drops—because Spotify made the genius decision to terminate our original podcast account. We’re not bitter, just busy… uploading. By Series 3, we had started hitting our stride—tightening pacing, locking in format, and finally feeling the rhythm of what the show could be. Still a few light-years away from where we are now beyond Series 7, but this one already had serious weight. In this Halloween episode, Tai and Adrienne sat down with their friend and fellow artist Jared Knight—whose work was heading into an exhibition at their Ol' Blue Gallery in Hannibal, MO. While Tai sketched out an Alien/Clown hybrid (nightmare fuel, naturally), the trio went all-in on their favorite thing about October: horror movie lists. This episode is all about lists—lists of must-watch horror movies, weird favorites, deep cuts, and outright questionable picks. And to make it a proper celebration, a bunch of past DOD45 guests and friends called in to share their own go-to scary flicks. Guest appearances from: Slug of Atmosphere Sage Francis BlackLiq Doseone Mr. Dibbs Gel Roc Mopes Ceschi Cas-One ALXNDRBRWN And Johnny & Quentin, Tai and Adrienne’s longtime friends from back home Each of them brought their own list of Halloween picks—some expected, some bizarre, some that’ll leave you wondering how they sleep at night. Whether you’re a diehard horror buff or just in it for the nostalgic VHS vibes, this episode delivers a whole stack of viewing suggestions you won’t want to miss. One guest listed Babe: Pig in the City as a horror movie. Not saying who. You’ll have to watch. Support the show: Review. Subscribe. Share. Tell your people. Tell your enemies. Creature Features, Tarantino Blood, and the Magic of Makeup FX with Howard Berger | DOD45 Series 3

Originally released October 19th, 2022, this classic Series 3 episode of The DOD45 Show is back from the archives as part of our massive re-release campaign — because Spotify decided to pull the rug out from under us and terminate our original account. Their loss. Your second chance to catch (or relive) the madness. During Series 3, we had nearly locked into our signature format and pacing. Major strides had been made since Series 2, but we were still a few wild leaps away from the tightly-wound chaos you see now, post-Series 7. Watching these episodes is seeing a work in progress that already had a hell of a lot to offer. In this special Halloween-style episode, Tai and Adrienne sat down with none other than Howard Berger — Academy Award and Emmy-winning makeup effects master from the legendary KNB EFX Group — to talk about his debut book Masters of Make-up Effects and a lifetime of unforgettable work behind the scenes of Hollywood's greatest films. While Tai drew a custom rendition of The Creature from the Black Lagoon for Howard, the conversation went deep into the art, the history, and the weirdness of Hollywood practical effects. Some of what went down: Howard’s stories about working on Quentin Tarantino films and inventing his now-famous low-light blood formula, known on sets as “Tarantino Blood” Getting hilariously roasted by Don Rickles on the set of Casino What winning an Oscar really does (or doesn’t do) for your career Why Hi-Definition digital filmmaking has, in Howard's words, “ruined movies” Tales from The Walking Dead, Kill Bill, Evil Dead II, From Dusk Till Dawn, and way more Behind-the-scenes grit, genius, and absurdities of the makeup effects world Book Spotlight: Masters of Make-up Effects — A behind-the-curtain tour through the art and artists who changed cinema forever. Monkey Business & Microphones: Seez Mics Reflects on Music, Loss and WWF Legends | DOD45 Series 2 Finale

Originally dropped January 30, 2022, this Series 2 finale of The DOD45 Show is back from the archives. We are rereleasing past episodes daily until we reload our full library — all thanks to a boneheaded move by Spotify when they terminated our original podcast account. Their loss. Your gain. At the time of this recording, we had made huge leaps from Series 1, but we were still a few miles from the chaos-crafted machine that is Series 7 and beyond. Watching these early episodes is like looking at blueprints for the building we have now. In this episode, Tai chopped it up with Seez Mics — battle-rap veteran, MC, deep thinker, and longtime Strange Famous Records artist. While Tai drew a crowned monkey climbing out of a Kansas City Chiefs helmet and gripping a cat skull, Seez unpacked the making of his deeply personal album "Even in Death," created with his close friend and collaborator Cubbiebear. After Cubbiebear’s passing, Seez finished the project as a tribute — raw, powerful, and unforgettable. What went down: Reflections on loss, collaboration, and the making of "Even in Death" Raising kids and trying to survive the madness Recapping that NFL Divisional Round weekend of the century Nostalgia trips to WWF’s Macho Man and Christian Okoye Wild side convos about Ralph Macchio, Fabio, Cobra Kai, and Evel Knievel Tai and Seez taking jabs at Samuel L. Hosted by Tai of ArtByTai, this one’s got more twists than a gas station taquito during a tornado. Recorded in person at the infamous Crimewave HQ, Tai and Adrienne bring the heat with questions so sincere and absurd, even Mr. Dibbs and Sage Francis had to get involved. Mr. Dibbs Crashes Back Into the DOD45 Show: 🚨 TORNADOES, TURNTABLES & TACO ROLLER DOGS

Still reeling from Spotify's boneheaded decision to erase The DOD45 Show podcast at the top of 2025 (seriously... who pulls that kind of digital arson on an art & interview show this dope?!), we’ve clawed our way back with the all-new, hotter-than-a-gas-station-rollerdog SERIES 8! And we’re lighting it up with none other than the legendary, vinyl-slinging cyclone that is... MR. DIBBS. He’s a turntablist. He’s a chaos conductor. He once fought a tornado and lived to eat a taquito about it. This dude doesn't just bend rules—he melts 'em on hot wax and scratches 'em backwards. 🎞️ RECOMMENDATION STATION: 🎬 Movie Pick: Me and Jesus the Pimp in a ’79 Granada Last Night” – The Coup Written by the incomparable Boots Riley, this track plays like a mini-film—gritty, funky, tragic. A haunting tale of childhood trauma, religion, revenge, and survival set to one of the most gut-punch grooves of the ‘90s. 18andCounting Plugs In: Thousand Legs & Synth Gods - Ep 107 Series 8

Still reeling from the bold and brainless move Spotify pulled by terminating the original DOD45 podcast account at the top of 2025 (seriously, what are you doing Spotify?), we’re THRILLED to be back with the all-new, highly anticipated Series 8 of The DOD45 Show — hosted by artist Tai of ArtByTai. In this wild new episode, we welcome 18andCounting aka Stan Chisholm — STL-based sound alchemist, muralist, multi-disciplinary wizard, and frontman of the genre-defying chaos collective TheOnlyEnsemble. ⚠️ Tai draws him a custom piece (armadillos, devils, you name it) while they chop it up about everything from Sk8 Liborious and synth parties, to mural culture, zombie survival, and the true mascot of St. Louis (spoiler: it has a lot of legs). This one’s part interview, part sonic séance, and 100% chaos in the best way. ⚡️ So... which is the better song: Eminem’s Stan or Outkast’s Stankonia? 🎹 Is Herbie Hancock a modular synth spirit animal? 🛒 What groceries get you the side-eye? 🚗 And can you judge someone’s soul by their car? 🔥 SONG SHARE RECOMMENDATIONS 🎧 Adrienne’s Pick: “Peace” – Youngblood Brass Band feat. Mike Ladd & Ceschi 💣 Brass meets bars. Urgent, soulful, and rowdy in all the right ways. 🧐 Did you know? Youngblood once banned corporate sponsors to stay fully DIY. Rebels with tubas. 🎧 Ceschi’s Pick: “Rosicrucian Rolls Royce” – AJ Suede & Televangel Dark & dreamy with ghost-in-the-machine vibes. Televangel (of Blue Sky Black Death) brings that hazy, cinematic punch. 🎧 Tai’s Pick: “Fix” – Speakers Corner Quartet, Tirzah, et al It’s like a dream whispered by jazz musicians in an underwater lounge. 🎵 Don’t forget to follow the official Spotify playlist: 💘 DOD45 LUVS All our song picks, all in one beautifully weird place. 🎬 MOVIE PICK: 🎥 Children of Men (2006) 📍 Set in dystopian 2027 London. 👤 Stars: Clive Owen as the reluctant savior of Earth’s last pregnant woman. 🚨 A moody masterpiece full of single-shot madness. 🧐 Did you know? It was named one of the greatest films of the 21st century by the BBC. 🤫 SAGE FRANCIS SOCIAL MEDIA LURK 📡 With theme music by DJ Zole & love from Strange Famous Records, Sage pops in to ask 18AC about playing a library show at noon. Marley B Talks Rattails, OutKast & Arizona Heat | DOD45 Ep.106

💥 THE DOD45 SHOW: SERIES 8, EPISODE 2 💥 After Spotify did what Spotify does best—deleting our entire podcast account with zero warning at the top of 2025 (shoutout to our overlords at HQ! 🙃)—we’re back with the vengeance of a desert monsoon and the absurd joy of a melted sandwich. This is Episode 106 of The DOD45 Show, and it slaps like a rattail in the wind. Hosted by Tai of ArtByTai, your favorite ballpoint-wielding host draws his guest LIVE in real-time while deep-diving into chaos, craft, and curiosity. This week’s canvas? @uglyassmarley aka Marley B—Arizona rapper, Broken Complex torchbearer, and self-proclaimed ugliest dude in the crew. 🔥 Things get... unpredictable. We talk time travel, desert childhoods, worst hairstyles (RATT🍑TAIL), creative rituals, studio dream pairings, and a condiment-related breakdown that might change how you view mayo forever. ✨ Did you know? Marley was discovered by MURS after a Tucson performance in 2013 and was signed to 316 shortly after. His debut with Cash Lansky and DJ Fresh, The Tonite Show, put him on the map. Since then, he’s toured with Demrick, Dizzy Wright, and dropped a wild number of singles and EPs under DJ Hoppa’s Broken Complex. His recent 2024 releases “Bullshit” (w/ Johnny Slash), “Shot Clock” (EP), and “4Ok” (feat. Tommy Will) are all undeniable heaters. 💣 🧂 And yes, Mr. Dibbs hijacks the show mid-episode to pose a question about Miracle Whip, prison inmates, and an unidentified condiment war. Just press play. Don’t ask questions. 🎨 Tai draws Marley live while folding in themes like: The Waterboy 🏈 Sloth from Goonies 🙃 Donatello 🐢 Desert rain & weed haze 🌧️🌿 Alice In Chains & OutKast colliding in sonic space 🎶 — 🎬 MOVIE RECOMMENDATION: The Proposition (2005) – Dir. John Hillcoat A brutal, sun-drenched Australian western. A lawman makes a deal with a renegade: kill your older brother to save your younger one from the noose. Gritty, moral, violent. Just how we like our frontier tales. ▶️ Watch Trailer on YouTube 🎥 Also streaming on most major platforms. — 🎶 DOD45 SONG SHARES (click to listen on Spotify): 🎧 Adrienne’s Pick: "Winter’s Going" – DJ Signify ft. It dances through your bloodstream. 🎧 Ceschi’s Pick: "My Dear Blue" – Zander Schloss ✨ Punk icon turned folk preacher spills guts on acoustic strings. Sad cowboy energy. Yeehaw. 🎧 Want more? 🚨 DOD45 SERIES 8 PREMIERE: SAGE FRANCIS IS IN THE BUILDING! 🚨

💥 Spotify tried to kill us. They failed. We rise again like a majestic, awkward phoenix in sweatpants. 💥 WE. ARE. BACK. Stronger, stranger, and slightly more beautiful? than ever. 🎙️🔥 🚀 WHAT’S IN THIS EPISODE? New series, new energy, same nonsense—but better. This is The DOD45 Show, where we talk art, music, and whatever random, intrusive thoughts slip past our filters. And who better to kick off Series 8 than the lyrical warlock himself—SAGE FRANCIS. Hip-hop pioneer. Strange Famous Records overlord. Touring survivor. Wearer of mysterious beanies. 🎭 SAGE FRANCIS IS HERE. ARE WE EVEN READY? Fresh from the Imagine the Fun Tour with Atmosphere & Mr. Dibbs. (Spoiler: He survived.) NEW MIXTAPE ALERT – A Sick Twist Ending (23 tracks of Sage doing what Sage does best: dropping bars, blowing minds, and making you question your life choices). 🎧 Only on Bandcamp & physical copies, because Spotify already messed around and found out. (BUY IT) Secrets from the tour: Did Dibbs really puke on him? Did he let it happen? Will we ever be the same after hearing about it? The "Net Worth" Lie: The internet says Sage is loaded. Sage begs to differ. How rich is he really? (Spoiler: Not as rich as the internet wants you to believe.) Weirdest fan interactions: A marriage proposal? Someone trying to sell him a parrot? WE NEED ANSWERS. 🐦 RANDOM FACT BREAK: Did you know sea lions can dance to a beat? 🦭💃 Sage’s song Sea Lion is prophetic. Coincidence? We think not. The phrase “I’m Audi 5000” actually came from a real-life Audi car scandal in the '80s, when their cars allegedly had minds of their own and just drove away. Who knew? 🔥 MUSIC & MOVIE RECOMMENDATIONS 🔥 🎬 Movie: The Limey (Directed by Steven Soderbergh) 🕵️‍♂️ A revenge thriller with an arthouse edge. Think Taken, but cooler and British. Starring Terence Stamp, Peter Fonda, and enough non-linear storytelling to break your brain. 🎷 Soundtrack vibe? Noir jazz meets fever dream. 🎶 Songs You Need in Your Life Right Now: 🐶 Pup – Hallways – If Alex G, Elliott Smith, and your last existential crisis formed a band. Lo-fi indie with hazy, introspective vibes. 🚗 Push Off – The Palms – Surf indie groove that makes you wanna drive aimlessly with the windows down, contemplating life. 🤠 Got Up This Morning – Sage Francis – Hip-hop meets honky-tonk blues with Jolie Holland’s ghostly vocals. Sounds like Mark Twain on edibles telling you a bedtime story. 📝 BONUS HOMEWORK: Subscribe to the DOD45 Song Share Playlist 🎧 LISTEN HERE 💀 FINAL THOUGHTS & UNHINGED MOMENTS 💀 Public restrooms: Tai defends using the short urinal. Adrienne doesn't care. Sophie's Choice—Which song benefits more from an accidental name swap?“Sage My Name, Sage My Name” (Destiny’s Child) “Sage It Ain’t So” (Weezer) (The correct answer is both.) The Francis Dilemma: If Sage could instantly have infinite knowledge of either historical Francises or Francis Ford Coppola’s wine collection, which would he choose? 🔔 BEFORE YOU GO… REVIEW & SUBSCRIBE! 🙏 We need this. 🎯 “Elton John Wayne Gacy, Doppelgänger Dibbs & Other Disasters — Series 6 Rewind” 🎯

🔥 Originally aired November 8, 2023, during the wild ride that was Series 6—our season of format flips, fresh graphics, and the debut of fan-fave segment “The Dish: Firsts, Worsts & Favorites.” We had finally greased the gears but were still throwing curveballs to keep you guessing. 🚨And thanks to Spotify pulling a bonehead move and TERMINATING our original DOD45 Show account (yeah… real forward-thinking, Spotify 👎)—we’re resurrecting ALL our past episodes, two or more a day, until we’re back in full force. So here’s your shot to relive, rewatch, or rage-listen to the chaos. 💥 And chaos it was. For Episode 73, we teased you with names like Jim Jones and Ed Gein—because who wouldn’t want a conversation with them? But the real guests: The audaciously unhinged Mr. Dibbs and his sonic partner-in-crime Brett Fullerton, together known as INIM E.G. (It’s not a cult… or is it?) 🎃 We recorded this one the day before Halloween, and Dibbs & Fullerton showed up fully costumed. Seemed fitting when Tai finally delivered on Dibbs’ long-time request: a portrait of Sir Elton John Wayne Gacy. That’s right—nobody else dared touch that concept, but we did. 💀🎹🤡 Expect the unexpected: ✨ Sage Francis lurking Dibbs’ infamous razor-blade airplane stunt. ✨ TWO people claiming to be Mr. Dibbs during our Question From Dibbs segment (doppelgängers? glitches in the Matrix? You decide). ✨ Pure mayhem discussions featuring Dog the Bounty Hunter, Steven Seagal, Brett Favre, Forrest Gump, and even Dibbs' shop teacher—who apparently punched him square in the face. Oh, and we weren’t just here clowning. This episode also plugged the 2nd 7” release from INIM E.G.—with limited pre-sales (AND cover art by @ArtByTai) lining up to form one Voltron-esque masterpiece across all three releases. Word is, the album’s as 🔥 as it gets. 🚀 Episode Movie & Song Recommendations: 🎬 Killing Gunther – A hilariously absurd action-comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the world’s most elusive hitman. Think mockumentary meets explosions meets unhinged hitmen. 🎵 “No Blood” by Moodie Black ft. Ceschi A raw, noise-rap masterpiece blending industrial grit with lyrical brilliance. 🔥 “DJ Abilities, Hot Yoga Mishaps & Airplane Weirdos — Series 5 Rewind” 🔥

🎙️ Back from the archives and back on your feeds—this gem originally dropped April 5, 2023, during Series 5 of The DOD45 Show! We’d finally hit our stride with the show’s structure by then—though still tossing in wild experiments like slap-boxing stories & random Marcus Aurelius references. You know, finding the groove but still leaving room to wreck the place. 🚨We’re re-releasing ALL past episodes (two or more a day!) thanks to Spotify hitting the self-destruct button on our original account (💀 real smooth, Spotify)—so now's your chance to catch this classic if you missed it! 👑 This one's a banger. DJ Abilities aka Max sits down while @ArtByTai draws a cyberpunk Max-from-Where-the-Wild-Things-Are piece, and Adrienne throws the questions that don’t usually get asked. No Eyedea obituary vibes here—nah, we talk guilty pleasure TV shows, Alice In Chains’ flawless Jar of Flies, the deep meditations of stoicism, mask-wearing on stage, and the underrated magic of burning nag champa. 💥 Did you know? Jordan Klepper (yes, that Jordan Klepper) is a big DJ Abilities fan—and we briefly ponder how he's surviving the madness of NYC. Plus, Mr. Dibbs crashes in (fresh off recovering from a hot-oil yoga accident) with wild on-tour slap-boxing “True or False” tales, and Sage Francis swings by to troll Max’s 2016 airplane-weirdo tweets. You’re not getting this kind of chaos anywhere else. Oh, and Max’s Phonograph Phoenix album? We get into that too. 🦅🔥 ⚡️Bottom line: You’ve never heard DJ Abilities in a convo like this. Ever. ✨ Watch it. Share it. Tell your friends, family, grandma & your ex’s new partner. SUBSCRIBE. REVIEW. 🎄🔥 “Sage Francis, Beard Clippings & Holiday Chaos: A DOD45 Christmas Special” 🔥🎄

ORIGINALLY AIRED: DECEMBER 21, 2022 …but thanks to Spotify deciding to hit the ol’ self-destruct button on our entire podcast account (because, apparently, indie shows = expendable), we’re bringing ALL our past episodes back—2+ a day—until every last one is resurrected. So if you missed this absolute holiday banger the first time, now’s your chance to unwrap it again. 🎁🎙️ (And hey, Spotify… maybe next time, send a fruit basket first before you wipe out years of work? 🤡) Back in Series 4, Episode 41, Tai (@ArtByTai) & Adrienne invited Strange Famous Records’ own captain, Sage Francis, to cozy up for a special holiday-themed chaos-fest. And because we don’t do anything halfway, here’s what this episode packed under the tree: ✏️ Tai sketched Sage as a wild hybrid: Grinch + Jack Skellington + Curious George + Cocomelon = one nightmare-before-Christmas masterpiece. 💿 They celebrated the 20th anniversary repressing of Sage’s Personal Journals—which sold out in 15 MINUTES(seriously, blink and you missed it). 🎞️ Sage dropped the classic story about his grandma taking him to see Gremlins at 8 years old. 🎤 Deep dives into 2 Live Crew, 90s rap lyrics, and how the music landscape’s shifted in today’s era. 🎅 Sage’s Top 3 Favorite Holiday Rap Songs & Holiday Movies—which somehow derailed into talk about Lucinda Dickey, Ninja 3, and MacGruber. 🎄 The age-old debate: Is Die Hard a Christmas movie? Spoiler: Sage’s take may spark fights at your next family gathering. 🧔‍♂️ Question From Dibbs Segment—Sage delivers a message about a bag of his beard clippings Dibbs has apparently been hoarding since Scribble Jam days (you can't make this stuff up). 🎙️ Plus... MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS: Sage teased The Hard Lurk Podcast, new Strange Famous projects, and whispers… a Strange Famous FESTIVAL in Denver, 2023? Yes, please. 🔥 Oh, and Tai made it all into a drinking game with prize giveaways—because what’s Christmas without a little reckless merriment? ✨ DID YOU KNOW? Sage Francis' Personal Journals has been widely hailed as one of the most influential underground hip-hop albums of the 2000s, blending raw vulnerability with razor-sharp lyricism. And yes, Sage’s grandma truly took him to see Gremlins. Parenting, 80s-style. 💀 🎯 REMINDER: Series 4 was when we had the format & flow locked in tight, fresh new Mr. Dibbs-produced theme music bangin’, and the energy soaring—though we weren’t the post-Series 7 beasts you see today. Still, this episode is pure holiday gold. 🚨 SPREAD THE HOLIDAY CHEER: Spotify may have hit us with coal, but YOU can keep us thriving—Rate, Review, Subscribe & SHARE this episode with your friends, family, or the bearded stranger at your local dive bar. 🎙️ Punk Rock Buffaloes & Jurassic Park Secrets w/ Whit Hertford | DOD45 Series 3 Throwback 🦬🎭

Originally aired Nov 16, 2022 – back now because Spotify pulled the plug & terminated our original DOD45 feed (classic corporate move 😒). So we’re re-releasing EVERY episode—2+ a day—until they’re all back and better than ever. 🔥 In this Series 3 classic, Tai & Adrienne had an introspective, off-the-rails convo with actor, playwright & theatre genius Whit Hertford—child star of Jurassic Park, founder of Riot Act Theatre, & all-around creative powerhouse. 🎨 Tai sketched Whit a punk rock buffalo carrying the Whitby Abbey (yep, that happened) while they dove into art, theatre, film, and life’s curveballs. Series 3 was where we hit our groove—levels above Series 2 but still building toward the chaos we unleash beyond Series 7. ⚡️ Did You Know? 🎤 Monsters, Mourning & Street Lessons: Myles Bullen Drops Gems on DOD45 🎤

🚨 Originally dropped on October 12, 2022, this classic Series 3 gem featuring the brilliant Myles Bullen is BACK—because Spotify pulled a boneheaded move and terminated our entire DOD45 podcast account 🤦‍♂️. So now, we’re rereleasing every single one of our past episodes—2 or more a day—until they’re all right back where they belong. (Thanks for the extra workload, Spotify. Real smooth.) But honestly, this episode aged like fine wine 🍷 and deserves another spin. 💥 Series 3 was the season where we hit our groove—format tighter, pacing smoother, vibes dialed in. We weren’t quite the juggernaut we are now post-Series 7, but we’d definitely outgrown our training wheels. In this unforgettable convo, Tai & Adrienne sat down with the thoughtful and talented @MylesBullen (of @FakeFourInc fame) to dive deep into: ✨ Their Mourning Travels album ✨ 4 wild years hitchhiking & street performing across the U.S. ✨ Why Adventure Time hits differently—and how Marceline’s monsters mirror real life ✨ …AND (a first for DOD45!) a surprise live performance of Marceline's heart-wrenching song “Monster” 🎶 Did you know? 🔥 Myles once described their sound as “a cross between emo rap & folk poetry.” 🔥 They’ve shared stages with acts like Sage Francis, Ceschi, and Guante. 🔥 Myles is a fierce advocate for mental health awareness & uses music as a form of therapy and activism. 🔗 Dive deeper: Myles Bullen Bandcamp Myles' Website “Hypothermic Anvil” Music Video Myles Bullen YouTube Marceline’s “Monster” Song 🎵 Theme music by the incomparable Mr. Dibbs 🎨 DOD45 hosted by Tai (ArtByTai) & Adrienne 👉 DOD45.com 👉 ArtByTai.com ⚠️ Don’t forget! This Series 2 episode with Mopes (formerly Prolyphic) from the @strangefamousrecords fam originally dropped Jan 23, 2022—back when we were still finding our footing, shaping the DOD45 Show into what it is today. And now, thanks to Spotify pulling a Spotify (aka nuking our entire podcast account for no good reason 🙄), we’re re-releasing two or more episodes a day until every single one is back where it belongs. So hit FOLLOW and buckle up. 🖊️ While Tai sketches a stag with owls tangled in its antlers, he and Adrienne sit down with Mopes to talk about: 💔 The lifelong agony of being a Jets fan (Mopes) vs. a Jazz fan (Tai) 📀 The making of Mopes’ EP & album (yep, this is pre-release talk) 📺 The weird nostalgia of Alf 📚 Madonna’s Sex book—wait, why was this even a topic? 💀 The horrifying reality of accidental deaths on movie sets 🥊 Mike Tyson’s struggles, transformations, and why he’s still terrifying 🎤 Working with Chicago emcee Robust 🎥 Why movie set safety still isn’t taken seriously ✍️ Their favorite lyrics of all time 👀 And of course, the Sophie’s Choice segment made a return! You picking Lady Gaga or Madonna? What about Alfred E. Neuman or Paul Newman? No? Fine—how about Jets or Giants? 💡 DID YOU KNOW? Before becoming Mopes, he spent over a decade as Prolyphic, dropping gems on Strange Famous Records alongside artists like Sage Francis. Rebranding isn't for the faint of heart, but he made the switch, evolved his sound, and kept it moving like a true artist. 🎨 GRAB THE ART! ”I Used to Live Off Candy Bars, Snapples, and Drugs...” 🍬🥤💊 (Series 7, Ep 85 with Candy’s .22 – Reuploaded!)

💀🚨 Spotify tried to kill us, but we won’t stay dead! 🚨💀 In case you missed it the first time around (or because Spotify decided to nuke The DOD45 Show podcast account for no good reason 🤡), we’re bringing back ALL our past episodes—two or more a day until they’re all back up where they belong! Because why? Because big tech is dumb and we don’t quit. 💥 This was originally released May 22, 2024, but now it’s BACK—stronger, uncut, and combined with its bonus “Dish” episode. That means MORE stories, MORE chaos, and MORE of the absurd brilliance that is Candy’s .22 (Existereo of The Shape Shifters & CBS + Barfly aka Barf Loko of Oldominion). 👀 This episode? It’s a free podcast, don’t complain that it’s longer now—just hit pause and come back later. But also, why would you want to? 🎙 What’s Inside: 🔥 No holds barred convo with Candy’s .22—nothing’s off-limits. 🖊 ArtByTai draws a Death to Smoochy-themed piece while the guys unload stories you definitely won’t hear anywhere else. 📝 First concerts, first crushes, first time getting stitches, first motorcycle, first car, first run-ins with the law, worst injuries, worst ways to die, best action stars, favorite cereals… yeah, we cover it ALL. 🤯 DID YOU KNOW? Candy’s .22’s "Neon Room at the Davenport" was one of their most cinematic releases, featuring production that felt straight out of a noir crime flick. 🎥🔪 Existereo has worked with legends like Busdriver, Awol One, and Pigeon John—and still keeps his rhymes razor-sharp. Barfly (Barf Loko) isn’t just an MC—he’s a published author 📖. His book “Winding Up Strangers in Bars” is basically this episode in literary form. 🎥 MOVIE RECOMMENDATION: 👨‍✈️ Popeye (1980) – The Robin Williams cult-classic that’s more bizarre and wonderful than people give it credit for. Directed by Robert Altman, featuring an unforgettable Shelly Duvall as Olive Oyl. If you haven’t seen it, you’re missing out. Watch here 🎵 MUSIC RECOMMENDATIONS: 🎧 "Spacious Thoughts" by N.A.S.A – A mind-bending collab between Tom Waits and Kool Keith. You need this in your ears. 🎧 "Let’em Breathe" by Maker & Mestizo – Heavy beats, raw lyrics—this one hits hard. 🎧 DOD45 Luvs ‘Song Share’ Playlist – A constantly updated soundtrack to vibe with. 🛒 Support the Guests & Their Work: 🎵 Candy’s .22 - "Neon Room at the Davenport" 🎵 “Livin La Vida Boo Hoo” 🎵 “A Girl and Her Gun” 📖 Barf Loko’s book Winding Up Strangers in Bars 📲 Follow & Connect: 📷 Existereo 📷 Barf Loko 📷 Candy’s .22 📷 ArtByTai 📷 DOD45 🔥 DON’T FORGET: 📢 If you dig the show, leave a review, subscribe, and share it with your people. More ears = more insane convos. Let’s make The DOD45 Show unstoppable. #DOD45 #Podcast #Candy’s22 #ArtByTai #Existereo #Barfly #UndergroundHipHop #IndieRap #Art #Music #SpotifyScrewedUsButWeBack
