The Dodgers Have A Shohei Dilemma

California Post’s Dodgers reporters Jack Harris and Dylan Hernandez take the mics after Los Angeles’ 8-3 win over Houston to open the series. The Dodgers’ 8 runs is their best offensive performance in a few weeks, however one player is still slumping at the plate. Despite taking 55 swings at batting practice before the game, Shohei Ohtani went hit-less and the superstar is now 0-17 with no hits in the previous five games, his worst stretch in his time with the Dodgers. The National League Pitcher of the Month for April will take the mound in Game 2 against the Astros, but will not be hitting, going back on earlier plans. This has the hosts of our Dodgers podcast begging the question: Would the team be better off with Shohei only pitching?  The guys also discuss whether Roki Sasaki should be sent to the minor leagues, and why Justin Wrobleski is pitching too well to return to the bullpen. Jack puts on his reporter’s hat to reveal the origin of Dalton Rushing’s dropkick celebration, before the return of favorite segments: Does Dylan Know the Dodgers, and Why We Hate Your City. Orel Hershiser gets a reference, and Bill Kaplan earns an RIP shoutout.

The Offense Stalls As Dodgers Lose Series To Marlins

The California Post’s Dodgers reporters Jack Harris and Dylan Hernandez are at Dodgers Stadium after their second straight loss to the Marlins, and scoring only 3 runs in those games. Is it time to panic? The Dodgers are still second in baseball in batting average and home runs, but their slumps are starting to feel reminiscent of a season ago, but with their stars more healthy. In this Dodgers podcast, the guys give out their monthly awards for April, including a nod to Shohei Ohtani. Jack and Dylan also talk Dalton Rushing and Kyle Tucker, share an incredible story about Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and give a bold predictions for one of the podcast’s favorite subjects, Roki Sasaki.

Kyle Tucker Finally Has His Moment

California Post’s Dylan Hernandez and Jack Harris are at Dodgers Stadium just minutes after the team’s come-from-behind 9th-inning win over the Marlins. New acquisition Kyle’s Tucker finally has a signature moment, with a 2-run walk-off, proving he’s not afraid of the spotlight and capping an impressive inning of offense for the Boys in Blue. On their Dodgers podcast, Jack and Dylan also dig into Shohei Ohtani’s worst week of baseball, and preview another game of the superstar pitching, but not batting. The guys also talk the upcoming Tyler Glasnow/Sandy Alcantara match, and of course offer up their weekly Roki rant. Then it’s prediction time, reviewing last week’s scores and jumping into another round head-first!

How Devastating Is The Edwin Diaz Injury?

The Dodgers’ star off-season acquisition on the mound, Edwin Diaz, is on the injured list with loose bodies in his elbow, an ailment that coach Dave Roberts actually faced when he was a player.  California Post’s Dodgers reporters Jack Harris and Dylan Hernandez talk about that means for the season, and the opportunities for Alex Vessia and Blake Treinen. The team’s first significant injury of 2026 is likely to lead to bullpen problems reminiscent of the worst parts of the 2025 season. Jack and Dylan are always coming with a new Roki Sasaki take, and also talk about whether Shohei Ohtani should be batting in the same games he pitches. The boys introduce a friendly new segment called “Why we hate your city” and return to some Dodgers trivia, and only one of them answers correctly!  And finally, Jack and Dylan give their predictions on the Giants series.

A Star Is Born: Justin Wrobleski Pitches Near-Complete Game | Dodgers Post

The podcast hits a dozen, which is coincidentally the same number of wins the Dodgers have after 16 games, including their latest 4-0 rout of the Mets. As California Post Dodgers reporters Jack Harris and Dylan Hernandez tell it, this game was all about Justin Wrobleski, who nearly pitched a complete game, bit finished with a career-high eight scoreless innings. It was the best pitching performance for the Boys in Blue so far in 2026, and gives fans just another reason to feel hopeful on Dylan’s prediction of 120 wins. The Dodgers/Mets is baseball’s first billion dollar series, but shows a tale of two franchises. Still, the guys have a few concerns: Roki, of course; Kyle Tucker’s slump and Edwin Diaz’s struggles on the mound. And introducing a new Dodgers Post game: Does Dylan Know The Dodgers?

The Dodgers Are Back In Toronto And Soaring

On Episode 11, California Post Dodgers reporters Jack Harris and Dylan Hernandez are in Toronto after Los Angeles’ impressive 14-2 win over the Blue Jays. The team is 8-2 and on pace for 130 wins, although Dylan is not quite adjusting his prediction of 120 yet. Outside of Mookie’s injury, there’s a lot to be excited about, including Andy Pages playing his best baseball. The guys once again talk Roki Sasaki, and Dylan recalls his days in Japanese baseball with an elite fastball. Then finally, the boys reminisce about being back where they won the World Series last fall … although this series is not looking to be nearly as exciting.

It’s Official: The Dodgers Will Not Go Undefeated In 2026

On Episode 10 of The Dodgers Post, California Post’s Dodgers reporters Jack Harris and Dylan Hernandez are at Dodgers Stadium just after the team’s first loss of the season, to the Guardians. The game saw Roki Sasaki make his first start of the season, and Jack and Dylan have mixed feelings on how it went. The Dodgers went to the bullpen in the fourth inning, and the boys, of course, have all sorts of thoughts on the relief roster. Jack and Dylan also talk about the Diamondbacks series and how the Dodgers started 3-0 despite not even playing their best baseball. And the episode would not be complete without a deep dive into Edwin Diaz’s live trumpet entrance and how it must continue!

“We Were Playing Catch-up The Entire Game” | Dodgers Coach Dave Roberts Rewatches The Epic World Series Game 7

On Episode 9, California Post Dodgers reporters Jack Harris and Dylan Hernandez bring a special bonus pod to celebrate opening day, dissecting the epic Game 7 of the 2025 World Series with head coach Dave Roberts.  The guys jump right into it with Shohei Ohtani on the mound in the third inning. “I didn’t feel great,” he recalls as Shohei gave up a three-run homer. “If I could have it over, I would do the same thing, probably call a different pitch.” When it came to the ninth inning, Roberts praises Miguel Rojas. “Something in your gut, I felt like he was going to give us a good at-bat,” Roberts recalled. “For me it’s betting on people who would die on the field to help his team win. It just could not happen to a better guy.” At one point in the bottom of the ninth, the Dodgers had just a 9% win percentage, and Roberts admits to having a few negative thoughts. “I told myself to get out of that,” he remembers. Roberts even gets nervous watching the tape. “I know I lived it, but it coulda been a dream,” he says. “What are the odds of getting out of that inning without giving any runs? … But I can look out on that diamond and say there are 9 players who are dependable.”
