The Donald Schulz Project
by The Donald Schulz Project
Years ago I release some of my music under the name of "Thunderfoot" This was my own invention made up of hired musicians and friends playing my songs and arrangements. The reality of this song and dance was just to keep the attention away from me. I have always enjoyed producing but similar to the Allan Parsons Project he and his partner were frustrated with dealing with difficult artists. What if we could put together the people that are right for a particular song and produce this with our original thoughts behind the song when we wrote it. That is what I did when I released under the name of Thunderfoot and now I will begin to release those same kind of productions under the name of The Donald Schulz Project. I am coming out of the closet sort of speak. Hope you enjoy some of the things that I put out here.

Missing Harv
A very close friend from a long time ago was my biggest influence to rock bands that had a brass section in it. We drifted apart and went in different directions. Recently, I got word that he died. He was a relative but no one ever mentioned that he was even sick. I think about him often and so thankful that he was my best friend when we were kids.

The End and Goodbye(Radio Version)
This is a song that I feel it ends the concert, the album and a simple way to say, "This is the end of the show, and Goodbye"

Penny For Your Thoughts
This is about my dog Penny. The beat and the music emulates the way she walks and struts around. She really is an amazing dog and she communicates telepathically or it sure seems like she does. Just by the way she looks you know what she is thinking. She is a dog with personality and it is really funny to watch her when she has to made a decision.

Beach Talk
This is about how inspiring that the beach can be. My wife and I have had some of the best talks while walking on the beach. There is just something about being there that just inspires you to reminisce and to dream.

Play The Game
This was the first song I ever wrote about my wife and our happy life. We like to play games together or just hang out. We are so much alike that when my friends would ask me what she was like I would answer a female version of me.

Always On My Mind
When you just can't get past a lost relationship because you just can't get them out of you mind and your thoughts. This really happened to me and at the time the only way I was able to past this was to change my location and my occupation. I started my new life.

Hot Java
This song was written for my parent's 25th wedding anniversary as they loved to entertain and that always started with a cup of coffee. This was in the day when the popular way to make coffee was with a percolator and the one they used was very loud. I captured the sound of that old coffee maker and included it in the song. Funny thing too, a couple of months later it died and they switch to a coffee drip, not nearly as interesting.
