Our very own Evan Koehler is set to be this week’s guest on Episode 5 of The Double Play Podcast! A Wichita, KS native, Evan went on to play at Butler County Community College before finishing up his career at Emporia State. Koehler was a juco All-American and 1st Team All-Conference first baseman at ESU. Come on with us this week to hear what helped Evan hit 50 college homeruns and play a heck of a first base!

Two words- The Closer. The great ones just keep coming! Whit and I grew up 10 miles apart, competing against each other in all sports from elementary school to high school. The competitor in each of us didn’t really allow us to be too fond of each other! As high school sports came to a close, we ended up on the same legion team our senior summer. From there we appreciated each other’s competitive spirit, became best friends, and started to establish and bond that will never be broken! Buckle your seatbelts. You won’t want to miss Episode 4!

This week’s guest on The Double Play Podcast is Taylor Steen! Taylor and I were teammates for a season at Emporia State. Since finishing up his education and playing career at ESU, he has stayed highly involved in baseball, coaching at the Division I and II level. Today, Steen works as an assistant coach for The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. We hope you join us to hear from a great baseball guy that has a lot of cool experiences provided by this great game! You’ll want to hear about what current MLB pitcher Steen caught as a freshman in college.
