    This new episode covers vulnerability. Sharon talks through the history and what the philosophers, researchers and literature says, what it feels like to experience vulnerability and the benefits of feeling vulnerable. It's a strong, deep feeling, one that involves self development and intimacy with oneself.     Episode 6 - Emotional Strength in Teachers

    This is a super exciting podcast to share with our listeners! Episode 6 details a study conducted by the Institute (formerly the Sharon Faye Foundation) in the education sector titled, “Emotional Strength in Teachers”. The study was focussed on the teachers and found that by building Emotional Strength in Teachers, it increased teacher engagement, improved vigor and dedication and in-turn improved student engagement and disaffection. The Institute plans to do more in this space in the coming years. In the meantime, whether you are a teacher, student, parent or work in the education sector, we hope you enjoy!     Listen in to this episode for an inside look into the myth of negative emotion. The myth challenges the idea that negative emotion is bad. Sharon talks about negative emotion, such as anger, anxiety, or sadness, and notes that positive emotions are not generally defined as these are simply referred to as emotion. During the episode, Sharon talks about her belief that all emotions are functional and explains some of the research on the topic of negative emotions.
