The Entheogenic Evolution

The Entheogenic Evolution is the musical creation of Martin Ball, a multi-instrumental musician living and working in Ashland, Oregon. Combining multiple musical influences, Martin creates genre-defying music that is a constantly shifting and changing exploration into the world of sound, texture, rhythm, and melody. Combining elements of alternative, goth, synth pop, folk, reggae, dub, world fusion, electronic, and more, Martin mixes acoustic instruments (6 and 12 string guitars, mandolin, Native American flute, didjeridu, percussion, harmonica) with electronic instrumentation and symphonic sounds (making all of his own beats and loops), and Tuvan-style throat and overtone singing, for a dynamic range of expressive instrumental music. A Different Kind Of Samadhi

From my 2022 EP, "12 Strings" - a collection of 6 songs all built around the 12 string guitar tuned to DADGAD, this track has a distinctly exotic Middle Eastern/Indian sound with a non-western scale. Dark and mysterious, it's a different kind of Samadhi . . .

  2. 17

    Whale Song

Using audio I recorded of humpback whales in Maui, I've crafted an epic electronic dub psychedelic groove that passes through various permutations, all accompanied by the whales. This is track #1 of my four-song collection from 2022, "When Nature Calls" (available elsewhere under the artist name Martin Ball).

    Temples Of Light

This is the title track to my 2021 release, "Temples of Light" - a collection of powerful electronic, world fusion, dub, reggae, and alternative dance music. This track kicks things off with an Asian vibe with layers of electronic instruments, mandolin, Native American flute, and deep grooves.

  4. 15

    Golgath

This track is part of the soundtrack to the audiobook of my novel, "Orobai's Vision." Toward the end of the novel, the shape-shifting raven, Orobai, must go on pilgrimage to the four sacred mountains of Aurduin. Here, he's at Golgath, the White Mountain of the north. The track is meant to invoke the feeling of an ancient being ascending the frozen mountain to its crystal peak with the play of light of the northern lights dancing about him as he trudges along . . .

    Finding Life After Love

This is the title track from my most recent album, which chronicles the separation from and reuniting with my wife. This is the first track I recorded after our separation and captures the big, epic upsurges of emotion I was experiencing at the time.

  6. 13

    The Long Night

A smoldering track with lead "guitar/sitar" on GeoShred with deep ambience, distortion, and reverb building up to pounding drums played on the Korg Wavedrum

A spares track with flute, wind, and bird calls (not actually birds - it's just me)
