Did you know that classic literature with rich vocabulary, complex sentences, and compelling storylines is increasingly being swapped for books that focus more on identity than ideas?  Children are being offered stories to “see themselves in” rather than stories that challenge them to think beyond themselves. It is time to equip parents with the knowledge to recognize warning signs in curriculum and with a path forward to fix the problem and Ann is leading the way!

Join us as we sit down with Becky Lew-Hobbs, Chapter Chair in Wake County, North Carolina, and a proud mom of three incredible children, including her son, Gideon. We’ve titled this episode Gideon’s Army, inspired by the story in the Book of Judges, where Gideon led a force reduced from 32,000 to just 300—and, through faith over fear, achieved victory against the Midianites. 🔥Be Uncancellable - Ep. 43 - The Fire of Liberty Show

Meet Shannon Adcock, the founder of Awake Illinois and the first Moms for Liberty chapter in IL in DuPage County. Shannon knows what it really means to stand firm when the pressure to stay silent is overwhelming. Her life shifted from a proud stay-at-home mom, homemaker, church deacon, photographer, and PTA leader to a bold public advocate for children in 2020. What began as concern quickly became a calling, as she stepped into the fight against gender ideology in schools, filed federal Title IX complaints, and pushed back on mental health screenings conducted without parental consent. In a deep-blue state like Illinois, Shannon has experienced isolation, harassment, and even threats often from institutions, media, and neighbors. Yet through it all, she remains grounded in her “why”: protecting children’s innocence and future. Her message is clear and encouraging that you are not alone. Small, courageous actions like submitting opt-out forms or writing an op-ed can create real change. This episode is a reminder that being “uncancelable” isn’t about avoiding criticism, it’s about not giving up. As Shannon puts it, backlash often means you’re over the target, and those who are feared are often the ones being smeared. If you’ve ever felt alone in standing up for your beliefs, this episode will leave you encouraged, equipped, and ready to take the next step.

🔥Drop an Anchor - Ep. 39 - The Fire of Liberty Show

Join Janelle Bucci, Moms for Liberty Chapter Chair in Green County, NY as she shares her transformation from being quick to “clap back” with a sharp tongue and lingering bitterness to becoming a steady, joyful servant leader in her small upstate New York community. Growing up in the same rural town she now calls home with one stoplight, pickup trucks, and deep roots, Janelle understands the unique cultural tensions of a place split between longtime locals, city transplants, and hilltown elites who often silence dissent.Married to her high school sweetheart and raising two musical daughters, Janelle chose not to retreat from uncomfortable spaces, but to “Drop an Anchor” and stay. Over the past five years, that mindset has reshaped her leadership, leading to her second year as PTSA president, her third year serving on the high school Building Committee, and the development of strong, respectful working relationships with district administration and a new superintendent.Janelle explains why she intentionally shows up in organizations like Girl Scouts, PTSA, and public school committees, not to create echo chambers, but to represent the silent majority of parents who are often too intimidated to speak. She speaks candidly about the toll of leadership in a blue state environment, the social cost of being the dissenting voice, and the courage it takes to stay in the room when you’re the only one who disagrees. This episode is a compelling conversation about maturity, mission, and the Joyful Warrior mindset.   How to choose service over bitterness, presence over outrage, and joyful persistence over cultural pressure. Janelle’s story is a reminder that real influence doesn’t come from stirring the pot, but from planting yourself firmly in your community, building trust over time, and showing up again and again with conviction, grace, and joy.

🔥Fighting for America - Ep. 38 - The Fire of Liberty Show

One mother’s personal history, combined with concern for her children’s education has transformed into a mission of advocacy, underscoring the ongoing national conversation about curriculum, parental involvement, and the future of education in America.Today’s guest is Denise Bell, Moms for Liberty Chapter Chair from Harris County, Texas, and a valued member of our Member Support Team. Denise shares her personal story, shaped by her family’s experience living under the Iron Curtain in Slovakia. Her grandmother immigrated to the United States at just two years old, bringing with her a legacy of resilience, hard work, and gratitude for freedom. Denise reflects on stories of relatives who remained behind and how they lived with severe scarcity and relied on visiting relatives to bring basic necessities like toiletries in suitcases and how witnessing that profoundly shaped her perspective on socialism, communism, and collectivism.A devoted wife of 23 years and mother of four, Denise has lived in Houston for nearly three decades. After beginning her career in international sales with IBM and later retiring from the corporate world in 2006, she dedicated her time to community service, church involvement, and volunteer work. Her path into education advocacy began in 2020 when her 10-year-old son was assigned Dragon Wings, a book she believed included themes inappropriate for his age. As she dug deeper, she discovered a broader pattern in assigned reading materials that emphasized “oppressor vs. oppressed” narratives, prompting her to study school policies, curriculum standards, and the book review process.Denise’s eyes were opened to the complexities parents face when challenging instructional materials and curriculum decisions. She describes the uphill battle many parents experience when engaging with school systems, likening it to “David versus Goliath,” and shares how reviewing her daughter’s AP U.S. History curriculum further fueled her advocacy after she found what she viewed as politically biased and inaccurate portrayals of economic systems. She takes us through her journey and growing involvement in education advocacy, including raising awareness about curriculum transparency, parental rights, and broader educational frameworks. She also recounts viral advocacy moments in her local district and the intense public scrutiny that followed. Denise emphasizes the importance of teaching accurate history, preserving family values, and ensuring parents remain engaged in their children’s education.

🔥No Seat is Safe - Ep. 36 - The Fire of Liberty Show

In this episode, we sit down with Amanda Nedweski.  She helped start Wisconsin’s first Moms for Liberty chapter in Kenosha and she has turned grassroots momentum into real electoral wins.Amanda shares how she helped launch Moms for Liberty in Wisconsin in 2021, then stepped into the political arena herself. First, she ran for county board to counter pandemic-era government overreach, and she WON. She later ran for State Assembly to defend parental rights, protect children, and preserve Liberty, and won again. We dig into what makes Wisconsin uniquely challenging: a deeply divided government with a Republican legislature, a Democrat governor, and a liberal state Supreme Court. Amanda explains why compromise is unavoidable, why many bills never become law, and how this gridlock has eroded voter trust.A major focus of the conversation is the power of local involvement. With 421 school districts and thousands of municipal and county offices, Amanda argues that local government is the front line for preventing overreach, protecting children, and building the bench for higher office. Without strong grassroots engagement, lawmakers don’t know what policies are truly needed.Amanda also reflects on her early days in the legislature—arriving as “one of those school board moms” and having to earn credibility. She has now served on the Education Committee and the Government Accountability and Transparency Committee, helping shape policy from the inside. She shares her personal “why,” rooted in growing up in a poor neighborhood in Kenosha and witnessing the cycle of poverty firsthand. With Wisconsin ranking last in the nation for reading achievement gaps, Amanda championed the Right to Read Act—transforming literacy policy statewide by embedding the Science of Reading into law, creating a literacy board, funding 64 reading coaches, and allocating $50 million toward outcomes that matter. The episode also tackles hard truths: union-backed school board races that price out everyday parents, political complacency, and the danger of assuming any seat is “safe” when voters stay home.

🔥The Thief of Joy - Ep. 35 - The Fire of Liberty Show

LIVE from Iowa from Steve Deace’s studio, this episode features Moms for Liberty Iowa leaders Geralyn Jones (Linn County Chapter Chair and Secretary of the Iowa Legislative Committee) and Jenn Turner (Polk County Chapter Chair).Coming off the momentum of hosting the Iowa governor debate the night before, we will take a look behind-the-scenes look at how an ordinary group of moms went from everyday life to welcoming gubernatorial candidates.  We will discuss the highlights of the evening and what it takes to step into leadership when you never planned to.Also, we will get personal and practical around the things that quietly steal joy: perfectionism, unrealistic expectations, losing sight of the bigger mission, and allowing selfishness or pride to creep in. Jenn and Geralyn dig into what it really looks like when joy is stolen in daily life, especially in relationships, working alongside people you didn’t choose, but with whom you share an important mission.Geralyn and Jenn share their own journey through a difficult working relationship, how they learned to grow through tension, and how choosing joy daily transformed not just their effectiveness, but their friendship.Geralyn also speaks candidly about adversity, being targeted after school board meetings, having her office vandalized while she testified at the Capitol and why she continues to choose joy anyway. The episode underscores the discipline of staying focused on the mission, refusing to get lost in drama, and standing firmly in truth. This episode is a powerful reminder that joy isn’t passive. It’s a choice made daily, even in the middle of opposition.

🔥Be the Light - Ep. 34 - The Fire of Liberty Show

Amy Kappelman Chapter Chair, Moms for Liberty Chatham County, NC & State Ambassador is filled with conviction, faith, and grit that has carried her through leadership, hardship, and advocacy. Grounded in the mantras “Stay in the fight,” “Endure to the end,” and “Have tenacity,” Amy reflects on lessons instilled by her parents, especially her father’s unwavering message: never give up.Amy’s most difficult season of her leadership: navigating family challenges at home while serving as chapter chair. With her husband out of work, starting a new business, and caring for four children, quitting would have been understandable, but it was never an option. She explains why she stayed: because perseverance is what she was taught, what she witnessed growing up, and what she believes is required when few are willing to stand up for what’s right.Rejecting the label of “activist,” Amy describes her work as simply living out her beliefs by putting faith, family, and truth first, and stepping forward when others won’t. She recounts an early defining moment for the chapter: a fourth-grade student told she could not bring her Bible to school as her favorite book. When the child’s father reached out, Amy rallied local community members including John Amanchukwu to speak out at the school board meeting.  This episode titled Be the Light is a reminder that leadership isn’t about having extra time or perfect circumstances, it’s about resolve, faith, and choosing to stay in the fight, no matter the cost.

He’s a farmer, businessman, semi-pro hockey goalie and currently a Ph.D. candidate in theology. Monty is bold and brings a rare blend of grit, faith, and firsthand experience to the fight for parental rights.Monty shares the truth: school boards are the front lines in this culture war and the neglect around them was never accidental; it was strategic. On one side is ideological activists who understand that schools are the most effective place to influence young, highly impressionable minds before parents ever realize what’s happening, and on the other side is a system controlling one of the largest sources of taxpayer funding at the local level. Massive budgets plus minimal scrutiny is a recipe for waste, corruption, and policies that would never survive sunlight.Join us as he breaks down what happens when parents start asking questions and how families are finally reclaiming their rightful role in their children’s education.

🔥Power to Make Change - Ep. 28 The Fire of Liberty Show

April Gibson is the Moms for Liberty Bay County, FL chapter chair, a dedicated mom, mentor and advocate who believes deeply in three things:1.    You have the power to make change.2.    You are stronger than you think.3.    Parents and community members must get informed about what’s happening in our schools.April’s story is one of discovery, determination, and a refusal to look the other way. After enrolling her son in the top-ranked charter school in her county, she quickly realized that the results were far from what she’d been promised—her son had fallen a full year behind. With intensive tutoring and hands-on support, she helped him catch up in just eight weeks, uncovering critical lessons along the way: grades can be misleading, testing reveals real learning, and many students are quietly slipping through the cracks.April serves as a mentor and has seen firsthand how many children have no one advocating for them—and how even one hour a week of genuine support can change a child’s trajectory. In this episode, April discusses doubts she faced stepping into leadership, her fear of failing her chapter, and how that chapter ultimately grew stronger than she ever imagined. She also shares surprising moments of collaboration—like long, productive conversations with her local teachers union representative—and her hope to build more goodwill and support for teachers who are fighting their own battles. At the heart of her advocacy is a simple truth: “My why is the kids.” April’s children have been in public school, charter school, and now private school due to declining academic quality. She’s fighting not only for her family, but for the countless students who don’t have anyone standing up for them.If she could go back and encourage herself at the beginning of this journey, her message would be clear:“You are stronger, smarter, and wiser than you know. You can do the hard things—and they will not break you. Keep fighting.”
