The Friendship Tapes is a new podcast all about "fantastic friends and where to find them" hosted by Tom Pinks.So why make a podcast all about friendship? Well, today people all over the world are finding themselves at a loss as to how to make meaningful connections as an adult. So I'll be putting on my detective hat and speaking to real people about their brave journeys making friends in London. Together we'll explore some of the best ways to make new friends, the pitfalls and secrets to building social connection and hopefully get to the very heart of what friendship really means.

    In episode 6, we spoke with Roger Martin, the Director of the Europe's Manufacturer of Board Games, Asmodee.Over the course of the episode, we discussed all things board games, their rise of popularity and how they help to build connection in London and beyond.In the episode, Roger shared some exclusive tips to getting a board game to market and some secrets to creating a game that people love.

    Episode 5 - Shrina Karia

    In this latest episode of The Friendship Tapes, we're joined by Shrina Karia, a Londoner in her 30s. In the episode, Shrina shares her experience of feeling increasingly disconnected from the friends she made in her twenties, many of whom started to move out of the city or settle down. She opens up about how The Great Friendship Project⁠⁠ events helped her overcome her anxiety when meeting new people and she offers some valuable tips for building new friendships in the city. And, as always, the podcast adds a touch of fun with segments like "Sugar, Yes Please!" and "The Happiest Pub Quiz in the World."

    Episode 4 - Lewis Boulton

    In Episode 4 of the Friendship Tapes, we spoke with London-based communications manager, Lewis Boulton. He shares his experience of attending the social events organised by The Great London Friendship Project⁠⁠ and how they helped him discover the confidence to organise his own social activities, as well as find meaningful connections and new friendships. In the episode, Roni shares her experience making friends in London attending the Sunday walks run by ⁠The Great London Friendship Project⁠, and what led her to start looking to expand her social circle. She shares some of the best tips for building new friendships in the capital and as always, the podcast features a range of fun and quirky games and features such as the "The 60 Second Interview" and "Sugar, Yes Please" to add a light-hearted element to the show.

    Episode 2 - Paulo Miguel

    In our second episode, we spoke to London-based video editor, Paulo Miguel. Having moved to London a year ago, Paulo shares his story moving to the city with limited social contacts in the capital. Together, we explore his experience attending social events run by The Great London Friendship Project and how they helped him to meet great new friends and build his confidence. He shares his advice for anyone who finds themselves in the same situation or is simply looking to expand their social circle.

    Episode 1 - David Gradon

    In our first episode of the Friendship Tapes, we spoke with David Gradon, the founder of The Great Friendship Project; a community project set up in 2021 to combat social isolation amongst young people in London. The project brings young Londoners together through community initiatives, online spaces and free or low-cost social events, such as board game nights, social walks and day trips to help build friendships and a sense of belonging and community. Since 2021, the community project has grown dramatically and now has over 30,000 members and regularly attracts over 100 attendees to their larger events. As part of the episode, we discuss all things friendship and explore why he set-up the community back in 2021, the secrets behind the growth of the community and his exciting plans for a cruise exclusively for 20s and 30s.
