With the lowering costs of genome sequencing, it's never been easier to map an individual's highly complex 3 billion letters long DNA code. And with the advent of this technology is emerging the new industry of Genomic Medicine. Genomic Medicine is a discipline that involves using genomic information about an individual as part of their medical care and as our understanding of this technology develops further, we are moving to an era when doctors will no longer treat symptoms of a disease, but prevent it from even occurring in the first place. Helping to discuss this subject, I'm joined by Dr Ali Jennings, a PhD in Neuroscience, who also produces the video slate for Genomics England, reports for the journal Nature and copywrites for various companies.
