It's Colon Cancer Awareness Month, and research suggests that we could cut our risk of colorectal cancer by 50 percent just by changing certain habits.  That's good to know, considering colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths.     Worldwide, more than 55 million people are living with dementia. In the United States alone, more than seven million have Alzheimer’s, and over 11 million are providing unpaid care. Guest Sylvia Waller is a volunteer community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association, due to her family history of Alzheimer’s and dementia-related diseases. Hear her story of becoming a caregiver for her proud father. Sylvia was also Mrs. Colorado in 2022 and at the age of 62, she was the oldest person to win the title in the pageant's history. She was also the second African American crowned Mrs. Colorado in the 32 years since the inception of the America Mrs. Pageant system in 1938. Sylvia will continue educating and raising awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, diet, exercise and the connection to brain health, mental health and aging gracefully.
