Kang the Conqueror Got Defeated by Ants lmao (The Mainstream 2/17/25)

Hey remember Kang the Conqueror? The villain the MCU spent all of phase 4 building up to? Probably meant to be the villain of the Multiverse Saga? Remember how he was defeated by ants? Microscopic ants, no less! One of the most powerful villains in the MCU, defeated by one of the smallest animals on the planet. I'll give you a moment to laugh hysterically.Better? Good, cause we're talking about a movie that's better than Quantumania at least. On this episode:- DJ Khaled feat. Why Do We Always End Up in Court? (The Mainstream 2/10/25)

Updates and recaps and trailers, oh my! Yes this episode is long, but the recording session for it was an hour longer. Think of the good jokes and goofs and bits that had to be cut in order to bring this down to a reasonable length. R.I.P. bits. We hardly knew ye. On this episode:- Creating the world's most Key West business- Update: someone save Cleatus the NFL Robot from Fox- Update: EA will make profitable games soon, we promise- Update: MultiVersus accepts Jesus into its heart before death- Update: yeah WB Games is still bad- Shuhei Yoshida pees his pants a little- Wheel of Fortune, a Crunchyroll Original- Grammys were uncharacteristically good this year- I want to be Hailee Steinfeld when I grow up- You won't believe where Jesse knows Tony Todd from- The most marketable Thing yet- Brian loves the Jurassic World franchise!- Trying to find a single new idea in the Smurfs trailerFOLLOW [email protected] on Bluesky@jessenoonanmusic on InstagramFOLLOW [email protected] on Bluesky@brian__mcm on Instagram@brianmc9891 on Twitter

The Comedy Central Roast of MultiVersus (The Mainstream 2/3/25)

I didn't plan on this show becoming a weekly rant about live services and debating on whether or not WB Games deserves to still exist. I also didn't plan on the neighbors having a party that ruins our audio. I did plan on releasing two episodes this week and the fact that we actually managed to is kind of impressive. I should get something nice for myself. Like a pint of ice cream. Or a Maserati. On this episode: - Steve Rogers vs. Kevin McCallister - One more currency could have saved MultiVersus - WB Games must be taken deep into Mordor and cast back into the fiery chasm from whence it came - Video games peaked with Adventure for the Atari 2600 (no woke nonsense) - Having sympathy for EA, unfortunately - Quentin Tarantino listens to our podcast - This week on Mainstream Court: Superman is illegal in four countries - Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Kiss Each Other on the Mouth, this Sunday on Fox - Jason Kelce nip slip - How many times will Kendrick perform Not Like Us at the Super Bowl? BONUS: The Mainstream Grammy Predictions 2025

A bonus episode of our Grammy predictions, recorded around the time they came out in November! My only regret is that I had to cut out the part about Scrat from Ice Age being responsible for the fall of the Berlin Wall. Excited to Watch That at Some Point, Maybe (The Mainstream 1/27/25)

Yes, I'm aware that I said the 2016 Grammys instead of the 2016 Oscars. I apologize. Though, to be fair, the 2016 Grammys also said the wrong name for their biggest award, as album of the year clearly should have gone to E•MO•TION by Carly Rae Jepsen. On this episode: - Debating on whether or not Red One was written while drunk - Our pop culture podcast's very first Star Wars conversation - Ryan Gosling, cantina owner - Having a $200 million time at South Park - The only movie studio greedier than Warner Bros. Discovery - Hell has frozen over (XBOX has compelling exclusives) - id Software will give me a heart attack - Exactly two Oscar nominations - Sonic and Shadow Kiss Each Other on the Mouth, in theaters now - Briefly becoming the music podcast this was meant to be - Laughing the hardest we have in our adult lives at the BRIT nominations FOLLOW JESSE @jesseanoonan.bsky.social on Bluesky @jessenoonanmusic on Instagram FOLLOW BRIAN @brianmcm.bsky.social on Bluesky @brian__mcm on Instagram @brianmc9891 on Twitter

The Mushroom Kingdom's Coolest Goomba (The Mainstream 1/20/25)

Welcome to The Mainstream, a music podcast that talks about video games for an hour. In our defense, the Switch 2 was announced and that occupied a lot of our collective brainspace. On this episode: - The world's first Limewire-exclusive podcast - Please stop making Live Service games - Oh no, maybe Sony sucks a little - WB Games sucks a lot, no surprise there - HULU FUBO VENU SUE BRO - Sling sucks and it's ESPN's fault - 45 minutes of analyzing the Switch 2 reveal FOLLOW JESSE @jesseanoonan.bsky.social on Bluesky @jessenoonanmusic on Instagram FOLLOW BRIAN @brianmcm.bsky.social on Bluesky @brian__mcm on Instagram @brianmc9891 on Twitter
