Season 2 Finale - Global Sisterhood, Sacred Rest, And The Call To Become

Your breakthrough isn’t on the horizon—it’s already knocking. We gather for a heartfelt season finale that begins with breath and gratitude, then expands into a global roll call of sisters who tune in from across oceans and time zones. The message lands with warmth and clarity: your voice matters, your story is sacred, and you don’t need permission to be your fullest self.We dive into the power of intentional rest—ritual, not reward. When we honor capacity, creativity rises, decisions sharpen, and the work glows. From there, we face fear without judgment and name the truth many of us feel: shrinking keeps us safe, but it also keeps us small. Together we trade approval for alignment and reclaim the courage to bring our gifts forward. The affirmations threaded through this conversation aren’t fluff; they’re tools to retrain the mind and steady the body—trust, peace over perfection, worthiness, open doors, and ready hearts. There’s celebration too. We acknowledge the listeners who carried us through grief, unbelief, and long nights, and we recommit to a community that buys, shares, and stands watch for one another. The invitation is gentle but firm: stop overlooking the life you asked for. Pause, recognize what has already arrived, and step into it with confidence. Rest, then rise.Season three is on the way, meeting us in our power with the same focus on healing, empowerment, and collective uplift. Until then, take the words with you: unclench, release fear, receive clarity, and walk through the open door. If this message stirred something in you, subscribe, share it with a sister who needs it, and leave a review so more women can find this space. What gift are you bringing forward next?Send a text

2026 Activation - Resetting Your Nervous System

Stop bracing for impact and start bracing for softness. We’re guiding a full-body reset designed to help you move out of survival mode and into a steady, regulated state where clarity, peace, and aligned opportunities can actually find you. With simple breath patterns, grounded visualization, and clear declarations, we create space to release the beliefs that kept you hustling for worth and invite in the truths that let you receive without apology. We begin by slowing the body with a four-four-six breath that cues safety and quiets the mind. From there, we visualize warm, restoring light moving through the body, unclenching hands and softening the chest. Old thoughts and stories are noticed and set free like drifting clouds. Then we get specific: naming and dissolving beliefs such as “I must struggle to deserve” or “Receiving is unsafe,” and replacing them with anchored truths like “I am supported” and “I am allowed to receive.” As the system settles, manifestation becomes less about force and more about alignment—meeting what’s meant for you at the frequency of calm certainty. We also spend time with your future self, the version of you who trusts herself and God, moves with clarity instead of urgency, and allows instead of forcing. Through concise decrees, we affirm a regulated, resilient nervous system and draw a boundary around chaos that masquerades as opportunity. Delays become redirections, closed doors become guidance, and your inner glow up begins at a nervous system level—deep, quiet, and undeniable. If you’re ready to trade hypervigilance for ease, scarcity for sufficiency, and exhaustion for clean receiving, press play and breathe with us.If this resonated, subscribe, share with a friend who needs relief, and leave a review to help more listeners find this reset. 2026 Activation - A New Era, A New Frequency, A New You

You don’t need another resolution; you need a regulated yes. We open this activation by creating real safety in the body—soft shoulders, unclenched jaw, slow breath—so your nervous system can receive what your mind keeps trying to affirm. From that grounded place, we gently retire the story that worth requires overwork, and replace it with alignment, clarity, and overflow without exhaustion.Together we move through carefully worded affirmations that teach your system a new rhythm: trust in timing, confidence in motion, and the courage to receive without guilt. We name boundaries with love—no chaos, no crumbs—and claim support, coverage, and divine orchestration. Then we step into a vivid future-self visualization, noticing how she walks, speaks, and rests. She’s unhurried, calm, and decisive. She doesn’t explain herself. She doesn’t dim her light. You merge with her now, not someday, letting that identity inform how you move, choose, and protect your energy. We seal the session with declarations that turn vision into evidence: 2026 as a year of embodiment, not just intention; manifestation you can measure; hope translated into habits. What is meant for you won’t miss you, and what isn’t will pass by. With a final breath, you step forward with softness and authority, trusting that what you’ve prayed for is already in motion. If this spoke to you, subscribe for more guided activations, share with someone who needs calm confidence today, and leave a review to help our community grow.Send a text

From Vine To Glass, Black Women Are Rewriting The Wine World

A good glass tells a story—but what happens when the storytellers own the vineyard, write the label, and invite the community in? We dive into the rise of Black women in wine, where legacy meets leadership and joy meets craft, from homegrown traditions to thriving brands that set the tone for what’s next.We share how historic gatekeeping made wine feel distant, then spotlight the women who flipped the script. From the McBride Sisters’ coast-to-coast roots to Krishan Lampley’s bold Love Corkscrew, from Theodora Lee’s Theopolis Vineyards to Marvina Robinson’s B. Stuyvesant Champagne, these makers are not just placing bottles on shelves—they’re redefining access, taste, and culture. Along the way, we explore the intimacy of wine as self-care and community: the solo exhale after a long day, the brunch toast that becomes a salon, and the way a shared bottle can turn goals into plans. You’ll hear practical ways to support this movement—buy direct when you can, ask local shops to stock Black-owned labels, and use tastings or virtual clubs to learn your palate. We talk pairings that feel like home, from crisp Sauvignon Blanc with fresh dishes to plush reds with soul food, and the bright lift of Prosecco for celebrations. Most of all, we celebrate the future: more vineyards, more education, and more seats at the table built by the women who own it.If this conversation poured into your day, tap follow, leave a quick review, and share the episode with someone who loves wine. Tag us on Instagram at the Melanin Unicorn Podcast and tell us what bottle we should try next. Cheers to flavor, ownership, and legacy in every glass.Send a text

    Christmas Softness

Some holidays roar with laughter; others whisper in the quiet. This Christmas message meets you wherever you are and wraps you in warmth, breath, and a blessing. We slow the pace with guided breathing, speak life with affirmations that honor worth and rest, and close with a heartfelt prayer covering Black women with peace, protection, and provision. Then we move into simple breathwork to settle the body and clear the mind, followed by affirmations that claim joy, abundance, and softness without apology. These words are not fluff; they are fuel, interrupting the grind and inviting your nervous system back to safety. Gratitude anchors the moment as we honor growth and the healing this community keeps choosing.A covering prayer brings it all together, calling in renewal for your home, your health, your finances, and your dreams. Black Women, Make Time For Yourselves

Rest shouldn’t be the last thing on our list. We open with a grounding breath and a bold truth: your wellness and your peace are not optional, and your time is yours to reclaim. From there, we unpack the pressure to measure worth by productivity and replace it with practices that honor body, mind, and spirit. The conversation moves from permission to practicality, offering a gentle path back to joy without guilt. We explore simple rituals that fit real life: a slow cup of tea or coffee to start the day with presence, ten minutes of silence to reset the nervous system, music that feeds the spirit, and speaking kindly to ourselves out loud. We also talk about boundaries—saying no to what drains you and yes to what restores you—as a loving strategy rather than a personality overhaul. These steps are designed as micro-habits you can repeat, even amid caregiving, work, and community commitments, so care becomes sustainable instead of sporadic. You’ll hear affirmations that honor softness and strength, reminders that you are allowed to be tired and still worthy, and reflections on joy as a vital metric of a good life. Whether it’s a walk, a nap, a journal session, or brunch with friends, choosing what makes you smile is not frivolous—it’s foundational. If you’ve been waiting for permission, consider this your green light to start small, start now, and keep starting. Subscribe, share this with a sister who needs it, and send us a DM with how you’re making time for yourself—we’d love to hear your ritual and cheer you on.Send a text

When God Closes Doors To Protect Your Purpose

What if the goodbye that shattered you was the very thing that saved you? We open a tender conversation about how God sometimes protects our purpose by closing doors we were too afraid to shut. From friendships that dimmed our light to romances that capped our growth, we trace the quiet signs of separation we often ignore, and we talk about how gratitude can coexist with grief without drifting into toxic positivity.Together we name the hard truth: letting go is not petty, it’s prophetic. We unpack boundaries that honor both love and honesty, including the courage to love some family from a distance. We explore how reclaiming worth and voice can unsettle old dynamics, why misalignment resists your healing, and how Psalm 34:18 anchors us when heartbreak is loud. You’ll hear practical prompts for journaling through loss, a framework for not repeating old lessons with new people, and a reframing of “subtraction” as divine strategy that makes room for healthier friendships, stronger love, and deeper intimacy with God.By the end, you’ll have language for the ache, permission to mourn without shame, and a simple practice for thanking God not only for what He gave but also for what He removed. If your spirit knows it’s time to release, this conversation offers clarity, courage, and calm. Listen, share it with a sister who needs it, and if it speaks to you, subscribe, leave a review, and tell us: what door are you finally letting close?Send a text

When Something is For You, You Will Have Great Peace

The loudest guidance isn’t always the truest. We dive into the difference between what looks right on paper and what feels right in your body, and we name peace as the most reliable compass for decisions, relationships, and purpose. Through a candid story about a promising job interview that didn’t quite sit right, we explore how reframing language, practicing faith, and listening to your inner voice can shift you from anxious guessing to grounded clarity. We talk about the full-body markers of alignment—calmer sleep, softer breath, and an ease that returns even when challenges are real. You’ll hear why the right path will never demand self-betrayal, how to tell growth from self-abandonment, and why familiar does not equal aligned. We offer simple, direct questions you can use to test for deep peace: Do I feel settled after I say yes? Am I stretching in a way that expands me? Is my energy being built or bled? These reflections help disentangle fear from wisdom and show you where your integrity wants to lead.If you’re standing at a crossroads, this conversation offers a steady hand and a practical lens. Instead of chasing what drains you, learn to follow the breadcrumb trail of peace toward work, love, and decisions that let your soul exhale. You're Worthy of Love, Honor, Respect and Success

You’ve been told to hustle for your value. Today, we flip that script and root into a deeper truth: you were born worthy, and no metric, milestone, or opinion can grant or revoke what you already are. Kerry guides a grounded journey from external validation to inner authority, inviting us to breathe, reflect, and choose practices that honor our inherent worth. We explore how cultural pressures and social feeds make worth feel conditional, and we replace that noise with simple, powerful actions. You’ll learn how to set clear boundaries at work and at home, celebrate the small wins that actually build momentum, and curate people, media, and spaces that support a healthy mind. We also reframe failure from a dead end into data for your next attempt, turning missteps into markers of growth and resilience. To anchor the shift, Kerry leads a short affirmation practice—statements you can return to whenever self-doubt speaks too loudly: I am worthy of love. I am worthy of respect. I am worthy of success. My worth is not defined by others. I am enough just as I am. Expect practical takeaways delivered with warmth and clarity, plus a gentle nudge to treat yourself like someone you love.If the message resonates, share it with a friend who needs the reminder, hit follow to catch future episodes, and leave a quick review to help more listeners find the show. What’s For You Will Not Miss You

Stuck in the loop of “everyone else is ahead” while your plans stall? We get candid about the mantra that pulls us back to center: what’s for you will not miss you. Together we unpack how to trust timing, quiet the comparison trap, and move with purpose even when progress feels slow.We start by defining the heart of the phrase—alignment, faith, and the belief that purpose arrives on time—even if it doesn’t look like the picture in your head. From there we break down how doom scrolling fuels self-doubt, why curated feeds distort reality, and how harsh self-talk can sabotage momentum. We bring real-life proof that delayed dreams still bloom, including stories of career pivots, long-haul goals, and the truth that arrival isn’t a finale but a new beginning. You’ll learn four simple practices to restore confidence and consistency: focus on the process rather than the outcome, use daily gratitude to expand perspective, release rigid timelines so delay doesn’t become despair, and separate your worth from speed and checkboxes. We close with actionable steps to curate your inputs, protect your energy, and write a mantra you’ll actually live by. If a door stays closed, we won’t spiral; we’ll pivot with clarity, trust the rhythm, and keep building the life that fits.If this message lands, share it with someone who needs it, subscribe for more grounded conversations, and leave a review to help others find the show. I Used to Have Designer Luggage Filled With Baggage

What if the stories you replay are quietly stealing the best parts of today? We’re talking about the weight of the past—how even “designer luggage” can look good from the outside while draining energy, clarity, and joy. Together, we name why we get stuck, how rumination masquerades as problem-solving, and what it really takes to shift from revisiting old scenes to authoring the next chapter. We unpack the mind’s pull toward familiar pain, the search for closure that may never arrive, and a faith-centered question that resets everything: if freedom has been given, why keep carrying what no longer belongs to you? From there, we move into practical tools you can start immediately. Mindfulness in five minutes to anchor attention in your senses. Gratitude journaling trains your brain toward sufficiency and what is working right now. Forgiveness as self-release—no permission slip for harm, just a decision to stop waiting for an apology before you heal. And small, forward-focused goals that turn intention into motion, whether learning a new skill, deepening relationships, or finally taking the first step toward travel and adventure. To help you feel the shift, we guide a brief visualization: set down the suitcase, breathe, and step through a door marked “Now.” The past can teach you, but it doesn’t get to define you. Your power lives in the present moment—in the choices you make today. Speak Life: A Guided Affirmation Session

Your voice can change your day. We dive into a guided affirmation flow built to lift your mood, quiet doubt, and center you in purpose, using clear, present-tense statements that support growth, gratitude, and resilience. From setting a calm space to breathing with intention, we create a simple ritual that helps your words land in your body, not just your head.We move through a sequence of affirmations that reinforce core beliefs: you are growing, you can release fear, your dreams are valid, and patience with your own timing can be powerful. Along the way, we explain why this works—language shapes attention, attention shapes choices, and choices shape outcomes. When you say I am enough or I attract positivity with a steady breath, you are training your mind to notice opportunities and respond with confidence. We pair the statements with gentle visualization, inviting you to see yourself walking in abundance and radiating joy, so the message becomes a felt experience, not a hollow mantra. This practice is short enough for your morning routine and steady enough to revisit when doubt creeps in. Whether you are starting a new chapter, recovering from a setback, or simply craving a calmer inner voice, these affirmations offer a grounded way to design your season. How To Receive Praise Without Shrinking

When was the last time a compliment made you squirm instead of smile? We’re digging into the compliment conundrum—why kind words can feel uncomfortable, how cultural conditioning shapes our reactions, and what it takes to receive praise with grace instead of shrinking from it. As Black women, many of us were taught to be careful with attention and wary of being seen as boastful, which can turn a positive moment into a stressful one. We name that history with care, then offer practical steps to unlearn it.We walk through a simple, repeatable flow: say thank you, add a short acknowledgment that honors your effort, and resist the urge to minimize or explain it away. You’ll hear language you can steal for work, relationships, and friendships so the next kind word doesn’t send you scrambling. We also explore why downplaying makes both people feel awkward and how a sincere response strengthens trust and connection. To help the change stick, we share mirror work that retrains your nervous system to let praise land. Looking yourself in the eye, practicing a calm thank you, and pairing it with breath can make compliments feel safe rather than suspicious. Over time, this builds self-acceptance and creates a positive feedback loop—when you receive generosity well, others feel encouraged to spread more of it. By the end, you’ll have clear steps, grounded examples, and a mindset shift that makes room for joyful recognition. If this resonates, share the episode with a friend who’s ready to stop arguing with compliments and start owning them. Love And Grief, Side By Side

Love doesn’t disappear when a life ends; it changes form, echoes through memory, and asks us to carry it with care. Kerry opens her heart about losing her brother, tracing the messy, holy overlap where grief and devotion meet. From hospital rooms and hard conversations to late-night prayers and quiet moments of knowing, she explores how faith, family, and the words we speak can soften the sharp edges of loss without denying the pain.We walk through the realities many Black women face after a death: stepping into logistics, holding space for others, and pushing our own sorrow to the margins. Kerry names that pattern and offers another way—healthy grief that honors both the loved one and the self. She talks about rejecting toxic positivity, meeting people where they are, and recognizing how language shapes our days. If every word is a seed, what are we planting when we speak about our lives, our hopes, and our healing? This conversation holds tender details from her brother’s final days, including the moment of peace that followed his last breath. It also holds practices you can use now: simple rituals for remembrance, boundaries that protect your heart, and permission to let joy and ache share the same room. Grief is love’s echo, not its enemy. By allowing both to stand together, we build a resilient life—one that remembers, honors, and keeps moving with grace. If this story meets you where you are, share it with someone who needs the reminder that they’re not alone. And if you have your own story of love and loss, connect with us on Instagram at the Melanin Unicorn Podcast and tell us what helped you keep going. Your Power Influences Every Room You Walk Into

Ready to change how a room responds to you—without forcing it? Kerry breaks down a simple, human approach to influence that starts before you cross the threshold and lasts long after you say goodbye. From reading energy to shaping your entrance, you’ll learn how to project calm, earn trust, and make your words matter. We start with prework: who’s there, what they value, and how the dynamics flow. Then we get tactical with presence—eye contact, posture, and a practiced entrance that balances confidence with humility. Kerry shares a quick breathing routine to unlock tension so your face and stance communicate ease. Next, we move into active listening that proves you care: ask better questions, reflect what you hear, and build psychological safety that melts resistance. When it’s your turn to speak, we keep it tight. One to three sentences, strategic pauses, and language tailored to the listener—data for analytical minds, story for expressive minds—to deliver impact without dominating the floor. Finally, we talk about the exit: a thoughtful follow-up and genuine gratitude for everyone who made the space possible, from organizers to staff. Those small acts leave a strong echo and open future doors. Whether you’re headed to a board meeting or a dinner party, this playbook helps you align with the room, lift others up, and still stand out for the right reasons. From Words to Touch: Making Love Languages Work for You

What if your love is getting lost in translation? We break down the five love languages—words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, and physical touch—and show how small shifts in how we give and receive care can change the feel of a relationship fast. Instead of guessing, we map real moments where effort didn’t land and offer simple ways to translate affection into a dialect your partner, friends, or family can actually hear.We walk through each language with practical examples: the difference between vague compliments and specific affirmations that stick; why acts of service relieve mental load more than grand gestures; how thoughtful, meaningful gifts signal “I see you” without spending big; what true quality time looks like when phones are away; and how to approach physical touch with consent, comfort, and warmth. Carrie shares her own mix of languages and how they shift across contexts, reminding us it’s normal to resonate with more than one and to evolve through different seasons of life. You’ll get three reflection prompts to uncover your core language, guidance on sharing your answers without blame, and ideas to layer gestures—pairing a chore with a kind note, or a short date with a small symbolic gift—so connection compounds. We also extend the framework beyond romance into friendships, family dynamics, and self-love, building a daily practice that is honest, flexible, and kind. What You Speak is Who You Will Become

Words aren’t just noise—they’re instructions your brain follows. We explore how everyday self-talk quietly wires your beliefs, steers your choices, and shapes the results you see at work, in business, and in relationships. From the first breath to the closing gratitude, we peel back the science and the soul of language: why negative scripts feel automatic, how neural pathways grow with repetition, and what it takes to replace harsh inner commentary with brave, useful words. We ground the conversation in real life. Picture the big presentation: the difference between “I’ll blow it” and “I’m ready” shows up in your body, your prep, and your performance. We unpack a simple, repeatable framework—awareness, reframing, affirmations—and share how to capture your exact negative phrases, flip them into truthful, supportive lines, and loop them until they stick. You’ll hear practical tools you can use today, from journaling prompts to recording your own affirmations and playing them while you fall asleep so your subconscious adopts the story you actually want to live.Along the way, we connect dots between elite athletes visualizing wins, entrepreneurs betting on a vision, and anyone training their mind to meet the moment. The thread is consistent practice, not perfection. We also open up about our own routines—mindset coaching, nightly affirmation loops, and the small shifts that add up to confidence, clarity, and momentum. If you’re ready to retire the inner critic and speak as the future you, this conversation gives you the language and the steps to start. If this resonated, share it with someone who needs a kinder mirror today. Prayer or Worry: Choose Your Path

Have you ever caught yourself praying about a situation only to spend the next few hours obsessively worrying about it? That spiritual tug-of-war is the focus of this heartfelt episode where we explore the fundamental incompatibility between prayer and worry.Drawing from Philippians 4:6-7, we dive deep into why these two responses can't coexist - because prayer is the act of handing something over to God, while worry is essentially grabbing it right back. With raw vulnerability, I share my current season of struggling to truly surrender my concerns, admitting how I've prayed with my mouth while worrying with my heart. This honest confession opens up a space for genuine reflection on how exhausting it is to live caught between faith and fear. The breakthrough comes in understanding a simple but profound truth: worry is talking to yourself about your problems, while prayer is talking to God about them. When we truly pray - when we pour out our souls before our Creator - we're invited to lay our burdens down and leave them there. Yet so many of us metaphorically run back, snatch up our worries, and continue carrying what was never ours to hold. God is strong enough, wise enough, and loving enough to handle whatever concerns us today, and He doesn't need our help to solve our problems.Whether you're in a season of struggle or simply want to deepen your prayer life, this episode offers both comfort and challenge. Remember to extend grace to yourself in the process - learning to fully trust takes time for many of us. Share your thoughts if this message resonated with you, and know that whatever you're facing, you're never alone. Keep praying, believing, trusting, and letting go - because we were never meant to do both.Send a text

It's Time For Black Women to Live Without Permission or Apology

What does it truly mean for Black women to thrive without apology? When 92% of us stood together in November 2024, we weren't just making a political statement—we were declaring our collective worth in a society that has long expected our labor while dismissing our humanity. The Melanin Unicorn Podcast tackles this powerful truth head-on with a simple yet revolutionary affirmation: "It is safe for Black women to live their lives to the fullest." For generations, we've been told our joy must be earned, our dreams deferred, our safety conditional. We've been the backbone, front bone, and sidebones of America—but at what cost to ourselves? This episode invites Black women everywhere to reimagine what safety truly means. Not just physical protection, but the creation of sanctuaries where our softness is honored, where we're seen without explanation, where fullness becomes our birthright.Living fully looks different for each of us. Perhaps it's booking that international trip, launching the business you've dreamed about, investing in your financial independence, or changing careers entirely. One listener shared how she pursued her JD part-time while raising children, studying whenever possible until finally walking across that graduation stage. The timeline matters less than the commitment. As your host Kerri reminds us: "We are no longer making excuses. We are doing." This episode offers practical encouragement alongside the spiritual permission many Black women have been waiting for—to expand, take up space, and exist in complete fullness without apology.Share this episode with your sister circle, your group chat, anyone who needs to hear that they are both the garden and the gardener of their own life. Subscribe to continue this journey of collective healing and joy as we create a world where Black women live out loud.Send a text

    Are You Ready For Love?

What does it truly mean to be ready for love? Not the casual swipe-right connections or comfortable situationships, but the real, aligned, soul-nourishing love that sees all of you? Many of us claim we want authentic love while unconsciously blocking it at every turn. We've survived betrayal, carried generational pain, and worn our strength like armor for so long that vulnerability feels dangerous. Somewhere along the way, we started guarding our hearts with what I call "barbed wire and prayer" – protection mechanisms that keep others at a distance while we silently hope for something better. The uncomfortable truth I explore in this episode is that love – real, authentic love – cannot thrive in cluttered emotional spaces. Before inviting it in, we must ask ourselves some challenging questions: Do we truly believe we're worthy of the love we desire? Have we forgiven those who hurt us, or are we expecting new partners to pay for old debts? Are we loving ourselves in the ways we want to be loved? These questions cut deep, but they matter profoundly. As I share in this heart-to-heart conversation, "You don't attract what you want; you attract what you are prepared to receive." If you're manifesting a peaceful, gentle partner while your own spirit remains in chaos, there's important inner work to be done. Through journaling exercises, meditation, therapy, prayer, and community support, we can begin clearing the space needed for authentic love to enter and flourish.Take this episode as an invitation to get honest with yourself about where you stand on your journey to love-readiness. There's no shame here – just space for truth and transformation. Because love is coming for you, queen. The question is: Will you be healed enough to recognize and receive it when it arrives?Send a text

Tech's Hidden Powerhouses: How Black Women Are Creating Their Own Tables

When less than 3% of the tech workforce looks like us, every Black woman in technology is both a pioneer and a revolution. Though Silicon Valley wasn't built with us in mind, we're transforming it through sheer brilliance, determination, and a perspective that cannot be replicated. This episode celebrates the Black women changing the face of technology—from coding to user experience design, from data science to startup leadership. We spotlight trailblazers like Kimberly Bryant of Black Girls Code who created vital pipelines for our future innovators, and Dr. Timnit Gebru whose ethical stand against AI bias shook an industry giant. These women exemplify why many of us are creating our own spaces rather than trying to fit where we were never meant to belong. The journey into tech often begins with self-teaching, boot camps, or career transitions—all while juggling full-time jobs and family responsibilities. Yet what sets Black women apart isn't just our resilience but our approach: we create products with overlooked communities in mind, designing for financial literacy, health equity, and social justice. This human-centered approach makes our contributions not just valuable but essential to an industry that desperately needs our perspective.Finding community is crucial for thriving in tech spaces. Whether through mentorship relationships with other Black women, tech collectives on platforms like Meetup and LinkedIn, or conferences like Afrotech and the Black Women in Data Summit, these connections provide the support needed to navigate challenges unique to our experience. When we show up for each other, the momentum only grows stronger.Ready to disrupt the tech landscape? Remember that your voice, your ideas, and your innovations belong in this industry. Share your tech journey with us on Instagram @TheMelaninUnicornPodcast—we're here to celebrate and support your path forward. Because when Black women lead in tech, we don't just code—we transform.Send a text

    Behind the Mic

A new chapter begins! Season Two of the Melanin Unicorn Podcast drops this Monday, and I couldn't be more excited to reconnect with my tribe after our hiatus. This season comes with a transformative mindset shift that changed everything for me. After struggling with perfectionism during Season One—constantly rearranging my recording space and stressing over background noises—I received clear guidance to simply start. Those passing cars you'll occasionally hear? That slight clicking in my voice despite regular water breaks? They're now badges of authenticity rather than flaws. As I've come to embrace: "It is better to be done than perfect." This liberating philosophy has allowed me to focus on what truly matters—creating meaningful connections with you.At its heart, the Melanin Unicorn Podcast remains dedicated to fostering a vibrant community and sisterhood among Black women worldwide. Our digital gathering space transcends geographical boundaries, connecting sisters in the US with those abroad through shared experiences, hearty laughs, and sometimes, collective healing through sorrow. Each episode creates room for both vulnerability and strength, authentic expression and deep listening. We're building something beautiful together—a space where every Black woman can feel seen, heard, and valued. So mark your calendars for Monday, follow our Instagram page for updates, and remember as we journey through Season Two together: you are that woman. Have you found your tribe yet?Send a text

This addition feels like the perfect complement to our existing conversations.Looking ahead, I'm keeping things fluid. Season 2 is definitely happening, but after that?
