Mojo Minutes - 2025 Greatest Hits Rewind

Like a musical greatest hits countdown or rewind, the last official Mojo Minutes for the 2025 MCC recaps the themes and highlights of the month. Jennifer acknowledges that the group has made it through the month-long challenge, likening it to surfing waves - sometimes riding them, sometimes getting tumbled, but ultimately still paddling and moving forward. She emphasizes the importance of building sustainable momentum, rather than constantly "sprinting" to keep businesses afloat. Jennifer offers opportunities for the group to stay connected and continue building momentum, such as an open call in November or a "open house" day to connect with the mastermind community. Current mastermind members share the value of the community in providing support and understanding for their fellow solopreneurs.Keep up your momentum! Good enough IS ENOUGH. And Done Gets You Data so you can keep moving forward, Mighty Pals.

    Content Coaching 10-30 - Last Progress Check-Ins

In the last group content coaching call of the challenge month, Jennifer recaps some recent, pop-culture inspired, Mojo Minutes and does last project progress check-ins with participants. The group discusses content repurposing, overcoming some tech glitches, asks questions about certain tools such as ThriveCart, and also talks about the differences in video presentation style. Kim started a discussion on difficulty of teaching others, especially when it comes to breaking down complex processes into clear, step-by-step instructions. They explore strategies for better documenting and communicating these steps.Encouragement to reach out for feedback and to finish this month strong but also with eye to keeping easy momentum going forward, at your own pace.

Mojo Minutes - Express Yourself! Be Iconic, Be You - 80s Pop Inspiration

Jennifer draws inspiration from challenge participants and the pop icons of the 80s to recap and rewind to the core themes of this month's event. Be YOU. Use YOUR voice and don't be afraid to "express yourself." Referencing the iconic, unapologetic, reinventing-and-still-themselves pop stars of the 80s such as Madonna, Cher, Bowie, Prince, Lauper and more - you can grow, evolve, and still stay true to yourself and your message. She emphasizes the importance of consistency on your own terms, rather than chasing external metrics or advice.Jennifer reminds the group that they don't have to go it alone, and encourages them to join the Mastermind community to continue supporting each other. She notes that evolution and growth are better achieved together.Don't miss the banging, mic dropping, totally rad pop references in this Mojo Minutes! 😄🎶👨‍🎤

Mojo Minutes: Content Needs the Spark - the Rock Inspiration Chat

"You can't start a fire without a spark ..." otherwise you're just dancing in the dark. 😉Jennifer made one of the fundamental mistakes in marketing and content - not being aligned with your audience - when she used a bunch of Taylor Swift song references in a chat. So participants 'dared' her to use cultural references more aligned for them, and show content inspiration can be 'sparked' from almost anywhere. Rock on! She uses Bruce Springsteen and the Eagles as examples of artists who connect with their audiences through storytelling, energy, and authenticity - qualities that can be applied to content creation. How many references do YOU catch in today's chat? (and watch for the next version with inspiration from icons of classic pop) Jennifer shares encouragement for the group to continue taking imperfect action, creating content, and building momentum. She wants everyone to feel empowered to finish the month strong and see the results of the momentum they've been building.

Content Coaching 10-28 - Points For Everyone!

The coaching call where Jennifer gives out points like they're a mega bag of Halloween candy to everyone for everything! 😄🍫🍬As October and the Mighty Content Challenge are wrapping up, this was a chance to check-in on everyone's projects, review progress, give nudges to finish, and to win those prizes. She reminds the group that the calls this week and the final celebration on November 3rd are opportunities to get feedback, ask questions, and support each other in finishing strong.Call includes check-ins and feedback on Linda's 5-day crocktober cooking challenge; long form posts from Tish, Fran, Terre, Claudette, Kelly, and more; Conni's website refresh; encouraging Kim to finish her new lead magnet by Friday, and her own YouTube launch. Jennifer introduces last round of Extra Credit opportunities -for following or subscribing on other participant's content channels (or email lists) IF they are a good fit for that other person and truly interested in their content. Group shares links in chat and a group Google Doc. Group also awards extra points to people who have gone up and above in creating, sharing, or being vulnerable.

Mojo Minutes - It's Not the Platform, It's the Message!

Jennifer is up on her soapbox again today with a rant , friendly reminder, that there are many content marketing paths to success. It is NOT about the platform or the tool, it IS about clarity, connection with your message. She analyzes an email from another solopreneur, that got her fired up. It's not the first time she's seen someone, well-meaning, who attributes the success of their launch to a specific tactic or platform. Jennifer disagrees, arguing that the real "magic" came from having a clear, aligned message and connecting with the right audience, not the specific tools used. (something the emailer even noted - before then crediting the tactic?! Argh!) A reminder that success comes from having a clear, specific message that resonates with the right audience, rather than just focusing on tactics or platforms. She encourages the group to be bold in sharing their unique perspectives and expertise. Jennifer suggests that each person should embrace their own unique style and energy when creating content, whether that's a more passionate, ranting approach or a gentler, more logical one. Jennifer clearly seems to be in her soapbox rant 'era'! 😄

  7. 25

Mojo Minutes - Content Lessons from Taylor Swift

You don't have to be a huge Swiftie to know the impact on culture - and content - that Taylor Swift has had the last nearly 20 years. Jennifer shares her 'connection' to Swift and uses her as inspiration and lessons for us as 'fearless' marketers. *Side note: just Taylor hides 'easter eggs' in her songs and videos, Jennifer has hidden multiple references to Swift content/songs in today's Mojo Minutes. Get bonus points if you report your finds to Jennifer!* Jennifer uses the example of Taylor Swift's experience with online criticism and fan speculation to illustrate the challenges of putting oneself and one's content out there. She encourages the group to "shake it off" and not let negative comments or perceptions deter them, as people's reactions are often more a reflection of their own biases and experiences than the content itself. Also, that our audiences do not come to our content as 'Blank Spaces' - people will always bring THEIR biases, past experiences, hopes, assumptions, misconceptions to our content. We don't have control over that. We also can't expect a single piece of content to change assumptions or views. We have to keep showing up as ourselves, true to what is right and true for us, to attract our right-fit audience.

  8. 24

Mojo Minutes - Community to Content

An experienced content expert and mentor often told Jennifer and others that "you can't help but create content when you are in community" - particularly when you are spending time with your right-fit people. In today's chat Jennifer emphasized the importance of intentionally connecting with her community and tapping into their language and perspectives to generate content ideas. The group discussed the value of being actively involved in professional communities, whether online or in-person. They highlighted how engaging with one's target audience can provide insights, inspiration, and language to use in content creation. Jennifer encouraged the group to seek out opportunities to listen, ask questions, and gather feedback from their communities.

Content Coaching 10-23 Finishing Strong + Next Steps

Coaching call starts with some recaps of themes from Mojo Minutes on reflecting on what's been working well this week, this month, and what's still messy or area for adaptation. Includes example of how we take notes, jot down thoughts or to-do's and then seem to keep those well past point of true usefulness. Jennifer purged some items today including live on the call. Jennifer discussed next steps beyond the Mighty Content Challenge, including her long-running, and evolving, weekly mastermind group. Participants asked questions of what's it like, members shared what they love about it. For many, it's a great way to keep the momentum, community, and inspiration going year long. Check-ins with participants included Ann's work, Terre's tying things together for her new course, Kim's website maintenance blog post is spurring a new lead magnet, recurring email reminders, and easy ways to promote her services. Jennifer led Tish through quick whiteboard to continue her banner theme to multiple supporting blog posts, not just the one great one she's already written.

  10. 22

Mojo Minutes - Pause + Reflect

As we near the end of the month-long challenge, and head towards a new year - it's a good time to pause and reflect. Take a few extra minutes today, grab your favorite note-taking or journaling tool and jot down some thoughts: What's going well right now, even if it's small? What's feeling messy or overwhelming and how can you take some tiny steps to adapt? What's one thing you want to focus on between now and January? One thing to focus on over the next 30 days? And one thing to focus on for being a Mighty Finisher in the challenge? In today's Mojo Minutes Jennifer also acknowledges the difficulty at times of following her own advice, things getting messy, being able to reflect and adapt in the middle of the mess, and the advantage of sharing that messy progress in public with her followers and Mighty Pals. The group seemed to be on the same wavelength today about ways to journal or take notes and tips on getting rid of the clutter of old notes that aren't useful anymore.

  11. 21

Mojo Minutes - Road Trips + 200 ft Ahead Analogies

Jennifer shares an analogy about driving at night, where the car headlights only illuminate the next 200-300 feet ahead. She suggests this is a helpful mindset for making progress, rather than trying to map out the entire route in advance. The key is to focus on the next immediate steps.Jennifer discusses the balance between focusing on the near-term next steps versus planning for longer-term milestones and destinations, using car road trip analogies.

  12. 20

Content Coaching 10-21: Pivots + Addressing the "shoulds"

Jennifer continues to try and model the "imperfect action", creating momentum, and taking smart pivots when they're needed. She encourages the group to share ares where they maybe overthinking.Jennifer asks for feedback on pivoting the name/branding of her evolving mastermind, as it approaches its 5th year. Who better to help, than the people who are ideal fits for the mastermind? The group brainstorms ideas like "The Stop Overthinking Marketing Mastermind" that better capture the program's current focus.Participants share their progress on repurposing, on experimenting in their content creation, and also ideas on where we can address the nasty, neggy/naggy little voices saying we "should do X" or "shouldn't do Y". Those are incredibly valuable parts of our Banner Message stands and to address them in our content.

  13. 19

Mojo Minutes - Imperfect in Action

Jennifer is trying to 'walk her talk' - taking a stand, sharing her voice and special sauce, stop the overthinking, and taking imperfect action. And it's HARD! 😄In this Mojo Minutes she discusses how she channeled all her own advice, the advice from the challenge participants and recorded an imperfect video for the new channel on "Stop Overthinking Marketing", rather than trying to make it better. She shares her thought process of not re-recording or heavily editing the video, as that would go against the message. Talked about the 'curse of too much knowledge', making decisions AHEAD of doing the actions, and continuing to emphasize the importance of taking action and getting content out there, even if it's not polished. Maybe intentionally NOT polishing - because that's NOT what our audiences need or want from us. Mini nudge: go write down 3 things your audience needs to stop telling themselves they "should" do/think/believe. We need to stop "shoulding all over ourselves"!

  14. 18

Mojo Minutes - Good Enough is Enough

An always timely reminder to shake off perfectionist tendencies and embrace the "good enough is ENOUGH" mantra. The group discussed the importance of embracing imperfection and not striving for perfection in their content creation and business tasks. Jennifer emphasized that "good enough is enough" and encouraged the participants to push past their fears of not being perfect and just get their work out there. Several participants shared examples of how they have applied this mindset, such as Tish creating a video without worrying about her appearance. And seeing just how much the message itself was what was resonating.

  15. 17

Mojo Minutes - Permission to Pivot

Jennifer discusses the importance of embracing change and being willing to pivot, using the analogy of GPS rerouting when encountering obstacles. She encourages the group to give themselves permission to try new things, experiment, and change direction without seeing it as failure.

  16. 16

Content Coaching 10-16 - Banner Messages + Sharing Vulnerabilities

Participants shared questions on areas that had them stuck or not progressing as they'd like in their content projects. Jennifer led the group through whiteboard examples of creating possible Mighty Banner Messages and supporting content. Examples from Debbie, Terre, and Kim - across conservation at home, saving ocean life, AI and clipart questions, common myths of AI and website creation. Extra credit opportunities for making a vulnerable share, request, ask and telling the group about it. Which led to some heartfelt, needed, vulnerable sharing among members.

  17. 15

Mojo Minutes - Pebbles + Long Lasting Ripples

Jennifer discusses how the impact of content marketing can take time to be seen, using the analogy of throwing a rock into a pond and watching the ripples spread out. Some content may appear to have instant 'result's - likes, comments; and other content may pull in views - and clients- months and years after publication. While cautioning against 'more' for the sake of 'more' - the group had some lively discussion around their own experiments with frequency of posting or sharing and ripples or impacts they are seeing right now. And questioning if those impacts will last? Are they converting to subscribers, leads, or clients and not just thumbs up or views? Each of us may need to experiment to see what ripples we get when we throw pebbles (or content) out for our audiences.

  18. 14

Mojo Minutes - Halfway Checkpoint - Don't Miss the View

No panic Mighty Pals! Yes, we're at the halfway point of October and the challenge, but you're not behind and it isn't panic time. It IS time to stop, take in the view, look at what you HAVE done, and then maybe adjust your path forward. Jennifer draws analogies to running a marathon and taking road trips, emphasizingthe importance of checking in on your progress and celebrating the steps you've taken, rather than just focusing on the remaining distance. She encourages the group to simplify their projects and tasks for the remainder of the month, and to reach out for support in the community if they are feeling stuck or overwhelmed. There's no reason to be stuck by the side of the road on this trip when you've got support around you - just reach out.

  19. 13

Mojo Minutes - Tides + Finding Your Ryhthm

Jennifer and the group explore the concept of natural rhythms and tides, both in our personal lives and in business. Emphasizing the importance of recognizing and working with these natural ebbs and flows, rather than fighting against them. They share personal experiences and insights about their own productivity patterns, creative bursts, and low-energy periods.Stop working against the tides, the 'shoulds', the well-meaning but doesn't fit you advice, and create your own rhythm for sustainable marketing.

  20. 12

Mojo Minutes - Progress Not Perfection

Let's talk about  the land of unfinished projects — blog posts half-written, videos half-edited, ideas stuck on sticky notes. We all have them - including me. Sometimes that's ok - those drafts and ideas were our practice rounds. But often - the thing doesn't get 'done' and out there because of perfection traps or we feel afraid to just release it. New mantra, "Done gets you data". To go along with "Imperfect Action Beats Perfect Inaction" Jennifer encourages the group to publish work that is "almost done" rather than letting it languish or we edit-edit-edit, as this allows for gathering feedback and iterating. What can you share in its messy, gloriously you and human form NOW?

  21. 11

Mojo Minutes - What Branding Really Is

Another juicy, and longer, Mojo Minutes where Jennifer and the group dive deeper into what branding really means - especially for small, solopreneurs who don't have deep pockets like McDonald's, Disney, or sports teams. Jennifer discusses the power of branding, noting that it goes far beyond just logos and icons. She explores how brands like Disney, sports teams, and TV shows inspire intense loyalty and fandom. Branding also encompasses mission, values, color palettes, and the overall customer experience.Which parts can we, as solopreneurs, control or influence? And what's also in the hands of our audience? Stick around for some vulnerable sharing moments!

  22. 10

Content Coaching 10-9: Making Progress, Places to Start + Narrowing a Banner Topic

Jennifer and the group checked in on progress they are making - in choosing a content focus for the month, finding the place to get started in that project, or how to revise or focus it. Participants shared about how they each track progress, deal with reality of brain fog, what to do when your content or requests are getting 'crickets'. Including a very literal example of "priming the pump" from Fran! We worked on examples of narrowing down broad Banner Message ideas to more specific ones for several participants - digging in to the "so what?" factors and how they can create supporting content for their Banner. Plus a reminder to come share progress - whatever it looks like - and ask for feedback in the online Facebook community (it's part of the Mighty Finisher requirements 😉 and just good connection-building).

  23. 9

Mojo Minutes - Loosen the Grip on Expectations

Jennifer discusses the importance of letting go of old or outdated expectations and patterns that may be holding us back from finding new ideas and directions in our content, marketing, and businesses. She uses the example of her mother-in-law knitting the same sweater patterns for everyone, even though they didn't fit well or suit each different person, as an analogy for clinging to what we know instead of being open to what might work better. The group shared their recent experiences and insights. Then discussed the importance of pausing to reflect on what was learned, even from projects or efforts that didn't fully succeed. They emphasize that the lessons and insights gained can inform future pivots and help us find the right path forward.

  24. 8

Mojo Minutes - Riding the Wave

Jennifer discusses the importance of not chasing constant momentum in content creation, but instead finding a natural rhythm and flow. She uses the analogy of surfers studying the waves and choosing the right ones to ride, rather than trying to chase every wave. The key is finding a sustainable pace that allows for completion, connection, and clarity, rather than burning out from overexertion.Jennifer encourages the participants to reflect on their own patterns and rhythms when it comes to content creation and productivity. Participants shared their reflections and tips for this.

  25. 7

Content Coaching Call - Evergreen, Perennial Content + Check-ins

Jennifer explains the gardening analogy of evergreen (content that stays relevant over time), perennial (content that can be refreshed and reused annually), and annual (short-lived, attention-grabbing content). She provides examples of how different types of content can fit into these categories. The group discusses expanding comfort zones, making intentional connections (for extra credit), and their chosen or potential content projects this month. Discussion of what types of content, in which bucket (Awareness, Education, Conversion) fits their goals for this quarter and beyond.

  26. 6

    Mojo Minutes - It's a Marathon Not a Sprint

Jennifer discusses her friend Sarah Lynn, a marathon runner, and how her dedication to training over many weeks is an inspiration. She draws parallels between marathon training and content marketing, emphasizing that both require a slow, steady, and sustainable approach rather than frantic "sprints" that lead to burnout.Jennifer emphasizes the need for a clear plan and system when it comes to content creation, just as marathon runners have a training plan. She encourages the group to find a sustainable content creation system that works for them, whether that's batching, repurposing, creating more 'evergreen' content, or building in more accountability and breaks.

  27. 5

Mojo Minutes - Someone Needs to Hear from You Today

Jennifer discusses the importance of repurposing and sharing content, even if it's not perfectly polished. She shares a personal story about how repurposing a past Mojo Minutes episode unexpectedly reached someone who needed to hear the message at that moment. Jennifer encourages the group to not hold themselves back from sharing content due to perfectionism or thinking 'but I"ve already said that', as there is always someone out there who needs to hear that message, from you, your way, today.

  28. 4

Mojo Minutes - Like Legos - Brick at a Time

You know those giant Lego sets — thousands of pieces, overwhelming at first glance?Nobody dumps the whole box and panics (well, some kids do 😅). Instead, you start with a single block or section. You use the handy, clear instructions that tell you to start small, with single sections, building modules that add up to the whole thing. Our content and this month's 30-day event is like that - it has handy instructions, and you take it one small step at a time, don't get overwhelmed trying to think or do everything at once. Think first about the smallest, simplest, single step you can take right now. What's one thing you can do that brings you towards sustainable momentum?

  29. 3

Mighty Content Coaching Call - 3 Buckets + Your Choice in Oct

Mighty Content Coaching Call for 10-2: the 3 Content Buckets and Making Your First Choice during October. Jennifer explained a framework for content strategy, divided into three buckets: awareness, education, and conversion. She emphasized the importance of having a mix of content across these buckets, and provided examples to illustrate the differences between them.Participants discussed what bucket they think they will focus on in October - and the content project in that bucket they may do.

  30. 2

    Mojo Minutes- Your Special Sauce

Are you old enough to remember the famous McDonald's jingle with " Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun… McDonald’s didn’t say, ‘secret mayo-ketchup mix.’ They branded it as special sauce. That one phrase set them apart and made people curious. Your voice works the same way. It’s your special sauce. It’s what makes your content irresistible.”Jennifer encourages challenge participants to use the qualities, experiences, and perspectives that make your content and offerings different from everyone else's. She encourages the participants to lean into their quirks and rough edges rather than trying to smooth them out to fit an algorithm or template.
