Understanding Trauma: Definitions & Types
Hello listeners,In this week's podcast, Jae and I delved into the complex topic of trauma. We briefly explored some of the science behind trauma and looked at how deeply distressing or disturbing experience can have long-lasting effects on a person's mental, physical, and emotional health. I explained how traumatic experiences can range from single incidents like car accidents, to ongoing issues such as abuse or neglect. I shared some personal experiences that I hope will be helpful for others who may be struggling with similar situations. We plan to continue to discuss trauma in our next few episodes including the journey to healing. YOU will have an opportunity to call in and ask questions! I am also working on a line-up of guest speakers who can share both knowledge and personal experiences.Below you will find the books I mentioned in the podcast.
