The Moonstruck Wayfarer Podcast
by Jon Chamberlain
In August of 2020, My son was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in Osaka, Japan where we lived. Long before this diagnosis, I was already struggling with serious addiction issues and mental illness. Moonstruck Wayfarer, a nickname that came to me during psychosis, began as an introspective blog on Instagram where I could anonymously write about my journey of recovery as I attempted to navigate a nightmare existence. My son passed in June of 2021. To this day, I keep fighting. On this podcast, I dive into the themes of recovery and mental health as an advocate to all who fight the same battles.

Episode 5: John VS Adam
If you’re still there, I’m sorry it’s taken so long. Life, of course gets in the way of many things we want to do, but that’s not really an excuse. What started as a brief distraction, roughly one year ago turned into a much bigger distraction than I just didn’t really think to get back to this until now.I’m happy to report that I am still happily sober after all this time. At this point it’s been 633 days (wooo). Today I talk about my good friend John, and his battle with his alter ego Adam on his journey through recovery. I draw comparisons to my own battle with my own alter ego Johnny Scotch. I will sincerely make an effort to record and publish episodes significantly more often. I love doing these, even if I’m the only one who listens to them. The universe is an enemy to no one, and you are certainly not the exception. You can follow me on Instagram @moonstruckwayfarerThank you for being here, for whatever reason they may be.

Episode 4: Getting "IT" Back
Today, I talk about one of the processes in recovery that has so far been one of the most... interesting to navigate. The "IT" factor. Your own personal version of it. What was it before addiction took over and skewed your perception of everything? Are you now working towards getting that old one back or has "IT" completely changed looking forward? Thank you so much for listening. Your feed back is awesome and you can message me on insta, or email to [email protected] Support the podcast and me: https://www.patreon.com/MoonstruckWayfarer

Glass + Gold
On the upcoming episode of the podcast, I’m going to talk about the process of gaining back the gifts and talents we once had before addiction overcame us. Today, I’ve simply uploaded a rough demo of a song I wrote a few days into recovery. It’s called Glass + Gold, and is written from the perspective of a whiskey bottle say on the counter, watching me at my worst. Thank you as always for tuning in. Episode 3 - What's Keeping You Sober?
Today, Jon explores learning to recognize the keys to his success in recovery. This is closely linked to learning how to grieve the loss of his son. Thank you for listening as we go a little further into the recovery journey and how the rewards of sobriety can also be the very things keeping us sober.. in this case at least. Episode 2 - Zoom Out
Today I ramble a bit about a perspective I had always wanted to embrace. Hell, I even tried to teach it to others before I could use it myself. The concept of zooming. Both in and out. It has been a big part of my recovery, my grief, my continued success. Thank you for listening to this old drunk talk. Support the podcast, and me: https://www.patreon.com/MoonstruckWayfarer/
