    Episode 8: Toy Story

    In this episode we’re going to start with a full breakdown of the plot, followed by the analysis portion where I’ll discuss some of the film’s central themes such as friendship, identity, jealousy, and the nature of change. I also want to highlight the movie’s technological impact as well as its influence on modern animation. After that, we’ll move into the Plaza Pops Ranking, where I’ll score the film from 1 to 10 based on its plot, characters, cinematography( or in this case, animation) and overall watchability or entertainment value.

    Episode 7: Whiplash

    In this episode we are going to be starting with a breakdown of the plot followed by the analysis portion where I want to spend some time talking about some of the overarching themes such as ambition, obsession, and the concept of the greats (with a capital G) as well as the film’s cinematography. Then, will be the Plaza Pops Ranking where I will rank Whiplash with a score from 1 to 10 based on the plot, characters, cinematography, and overall watchability or entertainment value and finally I will close it off with a few words and a preview of next week's episode.

    Episode 6: Fight Club

    In this episode, after the plot breakdown we’re going to spend some time analyzing themes in the film such as toxic masculinity and consumerist culture and diving further into the main characters' roles in the story. Following that is the Plaza Pops ranking portion where I will give Fight Club a score from 1 to 10 based on the plot, characters, cinematography, and overall watchability or entertainment value and we’ll close it off with a few words and a preview of next week's episode.

    Episode 5: WALL-E

    In this episode, after the plot breakdown we’re going to be diving deeper into some of the everlasting themes of the film such as environmentalism, consumerism and the indomitable human spirit as well as looking further into the characters of Wall-E and what makes them work so well to create a work of art as endearing as this one. Following that is the Plaza Pops ranking portion where I will give the film a score from 1-10 based on the plot, characters, cinematography/animation, and overall watchability or entertainment value and we’ll close it off with a few words and a preview of next week's episode.

    Episode 4.5: Memento (Interview)

    Hello and welcome to bonus episode 4.5 of The Movie Plaza! As promised in the previous episode here is the interview with Mr. Carl Mummert, a social studies teacher at McCaskey High School. Mr. Mummert was the one who first introduced me to Memento during his psychology class so I revisited him to discuss the psychological side of Leonard's condition including if it's real, how it works, and more.     Episode 4: Memento

    Hello and welcome to The Movie Plaza, a weekly entertainment podcast where I, Alysha Plaza watch, analyze, and rank the IMDB Top 100 Movies Watchlist in an approachable way that is aimed at those with a more general sense of film analysis. *TRIGGER WARNING: MENTIONS OF RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT* Episode #4 on Memento is going to be different than normal as I do the show segments a backwards which is fitting considering the movie. I still start with an overview but then we will jump right into the Plaza Pops ranking portion where I give the movie a 1-10 score based on plot, characters, cinematography, and overall watchability/ entertainment value. After that we will discuss the movie’s chronological  structure and how it affects our perception of the events and characters as well as how it mirrors the main character’s condition. After that is the breakdown of events which I have opted top tell in in chronological order as opposed to how it is shown in the film. This means that there will be major spoilers so if you want to watch the movie and not have it spoiled you can feel free to skip it using the timestamps below. The Episode will then close with a few words followed by a preview of the movie for next week.

    Episode 3: Parasite

    Hello and welcome to The Movie Plaza, a weekly entertainment podcast where I, Alysha Plaza watch, analyze, and rank the IMDB Top 100 Movies Watchlist in an approachable way that is aimed at those with a more general sense of film analysis. This episode we are going to start off with a brief overview of the film before we jump right into our breakdown of events. During this time I go over all major plot points from the film spoilers included. After that I want to dive deeper into the symbolism throughout including how it relates to the overarching themes of greed, class, wealth and division. That will take us into our Plaza Pops Ranking portion where I give the film a 1-10 score based on the plot, characters, cinematography, and entertainment value/overall watchability. I will then add the film to our new Top 100 list which you will be able  to see on the website starting this week to help you keep track of the rankings as more films are added. Before you go I’ll let you know the film for next week and that will be our episode!

    Hello and welcome to The Movie Plaza, a weekly entertainment podcast where I, Alysha Plaza watch, analyze, and rank the IMDB Top 100 Movies Watchlist in an approachable way that is aimed at those with a more general sense of film analysis. For this week’s episode we will start with an overview of the film before a breakdown of events. After that we will talk a bit about lighting and what it reveals about the characters as well as go over some historical context during which I conducted a short interview with Maple Brulia, and Undergrad student at Millersville University majoring in history and minoring in women and gender studies. Then, we’ll move on to The Plaza Pops ranking portion where I give the film a 1-10 score based on the plot, cinematography, characters and entertainment value/overall watchability. Finally we’ll close out by giving it a new ranking on our Top 100 list and with a preview of next weeks movie.

    Hello and welcome to the first episode of The Movie Plaza, a weekly entertainment podcast where I, Alysha Plaza watch, analyze, and rank the IMDB Top 100 Movies Watchlist in an approachable way that is aimed at those with a more general sense of film analysis. This episode I talk about #100 on the list, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I start with an overview of the film before jumping into a breakdown of events. During this portion, I summarize all of the movie events. After that is some analysis, this week we'll be looking into color theory as well as exploring the themes of innocence and guilt as it relates to the title. Following that is our Plaza Pops ranking portion, where I give the film a one to ten score based on the plot, characters, cinematography and watchability /entertainment value.
