It was the battle that ended the Anglo-Saxon rule in England and opened the path for a new kingdom, a Norman kingdom, led by William The Conqueror. History though is cruel - it remember the victors. Victorian graveyards were literally full, overflowing even. There was a trade in the dead though. Body snatchers operated under the cover of darkness to feed the demand for corpses - science required these for medical advancements to happen.
