Horror stories. A mix of Nosleep hits, creepypastas, Reddit scary stories, and occasionally some classic weird tales or cosmic horror. We're an anthology, so you can jump in anywhere! Created by Kevin Schrock and Annie Marie Morgan.

  1. 61

    The Dryad's Kiss

"...particularly on the occasion of Samhain, bonfires were lit with the express intention of scaring away the demonic forces of winter, and we know that, at Bealltainn in Scotland, offerings of baked custard were made within the last hundred and seventy years to the eponymous spirits of wild animals which were particularly prone to prey upon the flocks - the eagle, the crow, and the fox, among others. Indeed, at these seasons all supernatural beings were held in peculiar dread."- From the book 'British Fairy Origins', by Lewis SpenceSend us a message!

  2. 60

    The Wood of the Dead

With season three being nature themed, we'd be remiss not to narrate a story by Algernon Blackwood. This story was originally published in 1906 in the collection 'The Empty House and Other Ghost Stories.'Send us a message!

  3. 59

    An Unwelcome Audience

A recorder left in the woods. A deer that isn't quite right. And a narrator who's curiousity just surpasses his sense of danger. Todays episode is written by Steven Schrembeck or as you might know him from Reddit, Kasai_Ryane. It's been one of my favorite Nosleep stories for a long time, so we're very excited to share it with our listeners. Send us a message!

The Devil is Real and I Met Him in New Straitsville Ohio

"It's just like it goes to sleep. When it gets some air, it awakens again. People might forget about it for a while. But you know, it's always burning down there somewhere."- Connie Dunkle, New Straitsville Historian. Send us a message!

  17. 45

The Slinking Thing From Sinking Spring

"Others emerged from the light, shadow, and sound of a lonely wood. Others are straight-out lies, cousins to the tall tale, spun by frontiersmen, woodsmen, cowboys, and carnival sharps to prank the tenderfoot and pass the time. All are part of an unnatural natural history that reaches back to our earliest mythology." - Alvin Schwartz on his book 'Kickle Snifters and Other Fearsome Critters'Send us a message!

Hell is Real and the Entrance is in Ohio

  19. 43

    The Planet of the Dead

This episode was written by Weird Tales Legend Clark Ashton Smith. For those unfamiliar with his work, the quote that I think best sums up his general vibe was one said by fellow author and critic L. Sprague de Camp. de Camp said of Smith that "Nobody since Poe has so loved a well rotted corpse." Enjoy. Send us a message!

  28. 34

    Doomscrolling in the Dark

"Growing up with violence, with inescapable expertly choreographed brutality in every home builds not only a kind of desensitization for it, but it also creates a market for violent entertainment by people for whom even what they see on television is not enough, is not graphic enough, is not explicit enough, and some movie productions, some big productions really cash in on that market. What is peculiar about this is that as time goes on, a greater dosage is necessary to satisfy this need."- George GerbnerSend us a message!

  29. 33

    Because You Are My Baby

There are a lot of authors who come and go on Nosleep, but u/Dopabeane has been posting on and off for nearly a decade. She's currently working on the Fuck HIPAA series, and if she's an author you haven't checked out yet, go give that a read! She was kind enough to let us use one of her biggest stories of all time for this episode, and we couldn't be more excited for you to hear it. Send us a message!

Make sure to watch this one on Youtube because we're going to be on location, filming and recording this episode at the literal scene of the crime! 36. 26

    A Letter From Next Halloween

I wrote this story in 2016 and it's been heavily re-edited for this episode, as I now know how to use commas in a slightly less annoying way. But it is still very much a time capsule of my writing back then. It's also a bit of a time capsule of what I would call the only sort of paranormal experience I've ever had as it's (very loosely) inspired by real events. We wanted to air this story for our Halloween special because I'll be telling the real story that inspired it on a friend's podcast soon. Send us a message!

  37. 25

    The Cave in the Lake

Anyone who browsed Nosleep back around 2017 or so knows the username u/iia. Anytime he posted you knew you were in for a weird and probably gross time. He's since moved to his own website; Unsettlingstories.com where you can find his work archived. We are very excited to present our rendition of his story The Cave in the Lake, which follows a man who decided to reignite his passion for scuba diving, and the wonders he finds beneath the waves. Send us a message!

    One Last Walk With Frog

The dog doesn't die in this one, but it is already dead. Send us a message!

  39. 23

An Adventure in the Fourth Dimension

This story was featured in what is widely regarded as the single worst issue of Weird Tales Magazine ever published. When I sent it to Kevin to narrate he said "Why have you done this to me?" I don't know if I would describe it as a "good" story but I love it, so now you all have to listen to it (If you know what I mean).Send us a message!

    The Monster of Partridge Creek

The brave and handsome Georges Dupuy takes listeners on a journey to the past in his 1908 account of a strange beast in the Yukon. Scientists and skeptics alike have tried to cast doubt on his tale over the years, but do scientists really know what they're talking about? Dupuy says not. And really who would you rather listen to? Big science, or the guy who says dinosaurs are still around? Send us a message!

    The Eye in the Gap

Have you been listening to our show and thinking; these stories are great, but I just wish there were more run-on sentences and really drawn-out exposition? In the oldest story we've aired yet by Annie you get to hear all of that!Really though, I wrote this one in 2017 for Nosleep under an old pen name. It was probably the story I was most proud of back then, and I'm excited to share this little glimpse into the past with you guys. Send us a message!

    Fire Watchers

"Pepe looked suspiciously back every minute or so, and his eyes sought the tops of the ridges ahead. Once, on a white barren spur, he saw a black figure for a moment; but he looked quickly away, for it was one of the dark watchers. No one knew who the watchers were, nor where they lived, but it was better to ignore them and never to show interest in them. They did not bother one who stayed on the trail and minded his own business."- 'Flight' by John SteinbeckSend us a message!
