Episode 14: Quick & Dirty: TRT - The good, the bad, and the hairy
In this episode, we take on testosterone, the hormone that became a controlled substance in the 1990s after decades of misuse, and that remains one of the most misunderstood pieces of the hormonal picture for both women and men.We cover what testosterone actually is, where it is produced, and why women have higher absolute levels of testosterone across their lifetime than estrogen or any other hormone. We unpack the role testosterone plays in libido and sexual function, mood and cognition, muscle protein synthesis, bone density, fat distribution, insulin sensitivity, and metabolic health and we talk honestly about what happens when levels are too low, too high, or out of balance. We also dig into what testosterone is and is not FDA approved for, why hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in postmenopausal women remains the only female indication, and why so many of the broader benefits women experience on testosterone therapy fall outside conventional prescribing guidelines. Throughout, we explore the difference between physiological replacement and supraphysiologic dosing, the nuance between free and total testosterone, and what to look for in a provider who works with hormones thoughtfully. If you have wondered whether your fatigue, low drive, mood changes, or loss of strength might be hormonal, this episode is for you.Follow usInstagramTikTokYoutubeLinkedinWebsiteSee full show notesBecome a Patient: HEREMedical Providers: Join my Clinician Education Platform and use code PATREON10 for 10% off first monthSubscribe to our Newsletter: HEREHume Health - Get $20 offGramms Protein - Get $20 off Ethlete 15% off code: REVER15 Book a complimentary call with Nexus Point: HEREChapters00:00 Intro00:16 What is Testosterone?00:44 Testosterone in Men and Women01:26 Production and Feedback Loop01:46 Role of Testosterone02:23 Impact on Body and Health04:12 FDA Approval and Clinical Use05:41 Balancing Testosterone Levels06:31 Final Takeaways06:59 Outro

Episode 13: Authenticity in Aesthetics: Building a Brand & Handling the Haters with Erika Barry
In this episode, I sit down with my mentor Erika Barry, nurse practitioner, national trainer, and also known as Injector Bunny. Erika shares the work ethic that took her from Johns Hopkins and UCSF to building a cult-following brand in aesthetic medicine, and the philosophy of transparency, consistency, and collaboration that has guided her throughout her career. This episode is a thoughtful look at what it takes to build longevity in aesthetics, not through trends or shortcuts, but through authenticity, craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to patients. We spend a meaningful portion of the conversation on work ethic. Erika is honest about what it actually takes, from showing up thirty minutes earlier than everyone else to the two-year window required to build anything real. We also get into the evolution of her clinical technique, including her experience on the Daxie early experience team and why she now injects corrugators low rather than high. She keeps her older Patreon content online on purpose, so her community can see the evolution rather than a curated highlight reel.Erika is also refreshingly open about the personal side of building a career like hers. We talk about navigating social media criticism, a stalker situation that required FBI involvement, and the reality that no matter how authentic you try to be, social media is still a curated world. Whether you are an injector early in your career, an experienced provider refining your brand, or simply curious about the people shaping modern aesthetic medicine, this conversation offers both practical guidance and genuine perspective.Follow usInstagramTikTokYoutubeLinkedinWebsiteSee full show notesBecome a Patient: HEREMedical Providers: Join my Clinician Education Platform and use code PATREON10 for 10% off first monthSubscribe to our Newsletter: HEREHume Health - Get $20 offGramms Protein - Get $20 off Ethlete 15% off code: REVER15 Book a complimentary call with Nexus Point: HEREErika BarryInstagramWebsiteChapters00:00 Intro00:33 Guest Introduction: Erika Barry01:09 Building a Personal Brand01:39 Authenticity in Aesthetics02:46 Work Ethic and Consistency04:20 Team Mentality in Medicine05:11 Creating a Collaborative Culture06:50 Breaking Hierarchies08:46 Defining the Injector Bunny Brand10:14 Embracing Innovation and AI11:11 Learning and Sharing Content12:47 Challenges and Lessons Learned18:32 Balancing Personal and Professional Life19:25 Daily Routines and Rituals21:08 Who Supports Injector Bunny?24:14 Partnerships and Relationships in Business27:14 Book Recommendations27:49 The Importance of Mentorship32:44 Further Businesses34:12 How Has Erika Built Her Team38:01 Navigating Social Media and Its Challenges47:34 Final Thoughts and Takeaways50:45 Outro

Episode 12: Vibration Plates: Do They Actually Work? What the Science Really Says
We need to talk about vibration plates. In this episode, I’m breaking down everything you need to know about whole body vibration plates because they are all over my Instagram feed and I was so close to buying one. So before I dropped the money, I did what I always do, I went down the research rabbit hole so you don't have to.I walk you through what whole body vibration plates actually are and I break down every major claim you've seen on social media: strength building, balance, bone density, metabolism, and lymphatic drainage.I also talked to a physical therapist friend of mine, and we are on the same page: the data just isn't there yet to recommend these devices broadly. What I found interesting in my research is that vibration therapy actually has legitimate clinical roots. The problem is that the professional-grade equipment used in those clinical settings is very different from what's being sold to you on Amazon. Most consumer devices don't even list their Hz frequency, which is a major red flag, because the frequencies that showed any benefit in research tend to be on the higher end.Spoiler: I’m not buying one.But I’ll tell you exactly what studies say, who might actually benefit, and what to look for if you still want one. And as always, if I ever change my mind, you’ll be the first to know.Follow usInstagramTikTokYoutubeLinkedinWebsiteSee full show notesBecome a Patient: HEREMedical Providers: Join my Clinician Education Platform and use code PATREON10 for 10% off first monthSubscribe to our Newsletter: HEREHume Health - Get $20 offGramms Protein - Get $20 off Ethlete 15% off code: REVER15 Book a complimentary call with Nexus Point: HERELinks to purchase equipment on Amazon or affiliate links: 1. Episode 11: Strong Bones, Strong Body: Rethinking Osteoporosis & Osteopenia with Hannah Sadowsky
What if the thing standing between you and stronger bones, better mobility, and a longer, more capable life is simply learning how to load your body the right way? In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Hannah Sadowsky, physical therapist and my personal strength coach, to talk about what it actually means to build strength at any age, and why so many of us have been thinking about fitness all wrong.Strength training isn't just about aesthetics, it's one of the most powerful tools we have for long-term health. We break down why loading the body through resistance training directly stimulates bone remodeling, making it one of the most effective strategies for osteoporosis prevention and management. We also dig into one of the most persistent myths in the fitness world: that flexibility requires stretching, why load-bearing movements like deadlifts are actually more effective for improving range of motion than passive stretching, and why that matters for the way you move through daily life. The message throughout is simple but powerful: start where you are. Small, consistent steps compound into real, lasting change, and consistency will always outperform intensity for beginners.Whether you've never touched a barbell or you're recovering from an injury and trying to find your footing again, this conversation meets you exactly where you are.Follow usInstagramTikTokYoutubeLinkedinWebsiteSee full show notesBecome a Patient: HEREMedical Providers: Join my Clinician Education Platform and use code PATREON10 for 10% off first monthSubscribe to our Newsletter: HEREHume Health - Get $20 offGramms Protein - Get $20 off Ethlete 15% off code: REVER15 Book a complimentary call with Nexus Point: HEREHannah SadowskyInstagramOld Bull AthleticsWebsiteChapters00:00 Intro00:14 Guest Introduction00:32 Hannah's Background and Journey00:55 Personal Experience and Strength Training Benefits02:37 Path to Physical Therapy and Old Bull Athletics04:34 Empowerment Through Strength Training05:52 Family Influence and Fitness Philosophy06:54 Importance of Strength Training for Health07:50 Overcoming Gym Intimidation09:17 Building Strength at Home10:43 Physical Therapy for Bone Health11:59 Understanding Bone Density and Strength Training14:29 Flexibility and Mobility Tips19:07 Reactivity and Home Exercises21:07 Debunking Fitness Myths22:34 Expectations from Physical Therapy24:08 Starting Strength Training at Home26:52 Patient Success Stories30:48 The Role of Physical Therapy in Longevity32:26 Final Thoughts37:46 Playing Love it or Leave It39:28 Key Takeaways40:59 Outro

Episode 10: Live Panel Discussion: Perimenopause, Bone Health, Sleep & Nutrition
In this live panel episode of The Rever Rundown, I am joined by women’s health experts: Dr. Luly Diez-Arguelles of Freya Wellness, Lauren Steiner of Osoa Nutrition, and health psychologist Teresa Chamorro to break down perimenopause symptoms, postpartum recovery, hormone changes, and mental health. We discuss why issues like weight gain, anxiety, fatigue, and sleep disruption are often dismissed but are actually key signs of hormonal imbalance. The conversation covers how long perimenopause lasts, how hormones impact metabolism and mood, and why lab tests don’t always reflect what’s really happening in your body. You’ll also learn practical strategies for nutrition, pelvic health, and strength training, plus how to advocate for yourself when it comes to hormone therapy and care. If you’ve ever been told “this is just part of aging,” this episode will change how you think about women’s health.Follow usInstagramTikTokYoutubeLinkedinWebsiteSee full show notesBecome a Patient: HEREMedical Providers: Join my Clinician Education Platform and use code PATREON10 for 10% off first monthSubscribe to our Newsletter: HEREHume Health - Get $20 offGramms Protein - Get $20 off Ethlete 15% off code: REVER15 Book a complimentary call with Mimi: HEREDr. Luly Diez-ArguellesWebsiteInstagramLauren SteinerWebsiteInstagramChapters00:00 Intro00:10 Guests Introduction03:19 Common Misdiagnoses in Women's Health04:09 Perimenopause and Nutrition Misunderstandings06:00 Mental Health During Perimenopause07:43 Audience Question: Perimenopause Duration08:39 Iron Levels and Gut Health11:00 Postpartum vs. Perimenopause12:17 Hormonal Changes and Mental Health24:14 Nutrition Tips for Hormonal Balance28:31 Exercise and Bone Density42:43 Final Takeaways46:11 Outro

Episode 9: Quick & Dirty: What is Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis affects one in three women and one in five men over 50 and most people don’t know they have until a bone breaks. In this episode, we’re getting into one of the most underdiagnosed and underestimated conditions affecting adults over 50: osteoporosis. And I want to be honest with you, this is a condition that doesn’t get nearly enough attention until something breaks, and by then, a lot has already been lost. We’re talking about what osteoporosis actually is, how it develops silently over decades, and why the window for prevention starts much earlier than people think. We go through everything you need to understand about diagnosis including why I believe screening should start earlier than the standard recommendation of age 65 and walk through the full landscape of treatment options. We’re also looking at the benefits and the risks because you deserve to make informed decisions about your care.More than anything, this episode is a reminder that a diagnosis is not a sentence. There is so much that can be done and the earlier you start, the more options you have. Don’t let a number on a DEXA scan define your health journey.Follow usInstagramTikTokYoutubeLinkedinWebsiteSee full show notesBecome a Patient: HEREMedical Providers: Join my Clinician Education Platform and use code PATREON10 for 10% off first monthSubscribe to our Newsletter: HEREHume Health - Get $20 offGramms Protein - Get $20 off Ethlete 15% off code: REVER15 Book a complimentary call with Mimi: HEREChapters00:00 Intro00:10 Importance of Bone Health at Any Age00:52 Understanding Osteoporosis01:54 Diagnosis and T-Scores03:09 Treatment and Medication for Osteoporosis08:52 Lifestyle and Prevention09:41 Backed Study on Osteoporosis11:05 Supplements and Its Side Effects11:42 Can Osteoporosis Be Reversed?12:16 Screening Guidelines14:06 Who Else Could Experience Osteoporosis?15:03 Exercise: Building Stronger Bones19:22 Non-Approved Treatments21:27 Conclusion and Key Takeaways22:22 Outro

Episode 8: Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy: The Missing Link in Women’s Health with Freya Wellness
In this episode, I’m sitting down with two of my favorite people–who also happen to be my family, Dr. Luly Diez-Arguelles and Dr. Amanda Cereijo are both Doctors of Physical Therapy and co-founders of Freya Wellness Co. and we are going there. All of it.We’re talking about pelvic floor dysfunction, what it actually is, why symptoms like leaking, prolapse, and painful sex are so common but so rarely talked about, and why the kegels you’ve been doing your whole life are probably wrong. They also walk us through a live diaphragmatic breathing exercise, we break down what a first PT visit looks like (yes, including the internal exam), and we get into how your pelvic floor is connected to everything from back pain and bone density to orgasm. We also talk about the shame that keeps so many women silent for years and why common is not the same as normal. Whether you’re postpartum, perimenopausal, or just quietly modifying your life around a symptom you think you have to accept, this episode is for you. It is never too late to get help. And because we’re family, we go a little off-script too, into what it took to leave their jobs and build Freya from scratch, and what a business partnership actually looks like when it works. Episode 7: Quick & Dirty: What is Pelvic Floor
In this episode, I am sitting down to talk about something that affects millions of people but rarely gets the honest, open conversation it deserves–pelvic floor dysfunction. We cover what the pelvic floor actually is, why it matters so much for everyday quality of life, and what happens when things aren’t working the way they should. From incontinence to pelvic organ prolapse, I break down the most common symptoms, why they show up and most importantly, why you don’t have to just live with them.We also talk about the treatment landscape, what’s available, what actually works, and why so many people wait far too long before seeking help. Pelvic floor physical therapy, lifestyle modifications, and functional approaches can make a real difference, but getting there starts with understanding what is going on in your body. You deserve to feel well in your body and that includes the parts of your health that are hardest to bring up. If you have been quietly dealing with pelvic floor symptoms or you’re caring for someone who is, this episode is worth a listen.Follow usInstagramTikTokYoutubeLinkedinWebsiteSee full show notesBecome a Patient: HEREMedical Providers: Join my Clinician Education PlatformSubscribe to our Newsletter: HEREHume Health - Get $20 offGramms Protein - Get $20 off Ethlete 15% off code: REVER15 Book a call with Mimi: HEREPatreonUse code PATREON10 10% off first monthChapters00:00 Intro00:06 Introduction to Pelvic Floor Dysfunction01:21 Understanding Pelvic Floor Dysfunction02:00 Impact on Physical Health03:34 Psychological Impacts04:06 Quality of Life and Longevity05:31 Treatment Options07:02 Pharmacotherapy and Additional Interventions08:33 Advocacy and Seeking Treatment09:21 Conclusion and Takeaways09:58 Outro

Episode 6: Grounded in Wellness: Mushrooms, Adaptogens, and Building YVB with Carly Alarcon
In this episode, I sit down with Carly Alarcón, the founder of YVB, for one of those conversations I've been wanting to have for a long time. Carly's path into medicinal mushrooms started the same way a lot of great things do, she went looking for a product she could actually trust, couldn't find one, and decided to build it herself. We talk about what supplement integrity really means beyond the buzzword. Carly breaks down exactly what to look for on a label, why the sourcing and extraction method matters more than most people realize, and the red flags that should make you put something back on the shelf. We also get into adaptogens: what they are, how they work, and why consistency is everything when it comes to seeing real results. Plus, Carly shares the sustainable practices baked into YVB from day one and why she believes the cleanest products are almost always the most effective ones.Whether you're just getting curious about functional mushrooms or you're already deep in your wellness routine, this conversation will sharpen how you think about what you're actually putting in your body.*Disclaimer:Turkey tail mushroom (Trametes versicolor) is widely studied in integrative oncology for its immune-modulating properties. Compounds in the mushroom–especially polysaccharide-K (PSK) and polysaccharopeptide (PSP)–do not directly kill cancer cells in humans, but they can enhance the body’s immune response to tumors. These compounds act as biological response modifiers that stimulate immune cells such as natural killer (NK) cells, CD8+ T cells, and dendritic cells, and increase cytokine signaling involved in antitumor immunity. Experimental studies also show that turkey tail extracts can inhibit cancer cell growth and induce apoptosis in laboratory models, although these effects occur at concentrations that may not reflect clinical dosing.Clinically, PSK has been used in Japan as an adjunct to chemotherapy, and randomized trials and meta-analyses suggest modest improvements in survival outcomes for some cancers, including colorectal and gastric cancer, when combined with conventional therapy. However, the certainty of evidence remains low to moderate due to small study sizes and older chemotherapy protocols, so turkey tail is considered a complementary–not curative, approach in cancer care.Follow usInstagramTikTokYoutubeLinkedinWebsiteSee full show notesBecome a Patient: HEREMedical Providers: Join my Clinician Education PlatformSubscribe to our Newsletter: HEREHume Health - Get $20 offGramms Protein - Get $20 off Ethlete 15% off code: REVER15 Book a call with Mimi: HEREPatreonUse code PATREON10 10% off first monthCarly AlarconWebsiteInstagramChapters00:00 Intro00:18 Guest Introduction: Carly Alarcon01:22 Carly's Personal Health Journey03:33 Founding of YVB05:45 The Role of Mushrooms and Adaptogens06:52 Meditation and Stress Management09:22 Business Evolution and Product Offerings14:53 Environmental and Ethical Practices19:49 Family Business Dynamics22:38 Maintaining Wellness as an Entrepreneur27:11 Product Showcase and Recommendations36:36 Supplement Industry Insights42:44 Future Plans for YVB44:13 Conclusion44:34 Outro

Episode 5: Quick & Dirty: All About Mushrooms
Mushrooms are showing up everywhere right now–in your coffee, your creamer, your sleep stack, and honestly, most of us are adding them to our routines without fully understanding why. I am getting into the bioactive compounds that make mushrooms worth paying attention to and breaking down the specific mushrooms you are seeing in supplements right now. This episode is for anyone who has been adding mushroom supplements to their routine on faith, for the person who keeps seeing them on store shelves and wondering if there’s anything real behind the buzz, and for anyone who just wants to make more informed decisions about what they’re putting in their bodies.Because at the end of the day, the goal is simple: if something brings real results for your health and well-being, you need to understand why. Episode 4: Perimenopause: The Plot Twist Your 30s & 40s Didn’t Warn You About
In this episode, I’m diving into the phase of life that no one really prepares us for, perimenopause. The mood shifts, the anxiety, the sleep changes, the weight that suddenly feels harder to manage, the brain fog that makes you question yourself and the frustrating reality of being told “your labs are normal.”I'm breaking down what's actually happening hormonally during your 30s and 40s, why perimenopause symptoms can start a full decade (or more) before menopause officially begins, and how the wild fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone impact virtually every system in your body, from your metabolism and body composition to your mental health, energy levels, and emotional resilience. This episode is for every woman who's felt dismissed, gaslit, or confused about what's happening in her own body.
