Reliable medical imaging and diagnostics are often taken for granted. Yet in many parts of the world, consistent access to radiology services remains out of reach. Radiology Across Borders (RAB) is a global charity working to change this reality by strengthening radiology capability through education, training and in‑country support, helping to improve health outcomes in emerging nations. RAB co‑founder A/Prof Suresh de Silva and Director Dr Salman Ansari share the organisation’s origin story, the scope of its work today, and the tangible impact it is making on the ground. Radiation oncologist Dr Gerry Adams reflects on a career that has spanned continents, disciplines and leadership in cancer care. Originally from Northern Ireland and trained in Edinburgh, Dr Adams eventually made his way to regional Queensland, where he has helped build and expand radiation oncology services in Bundaberg.  Dr Adams discusses the rewards and challenges of practising in a regional centre, his clinical interests including research into immunotherapy following surgery and radiation therapy for skin cancer, and the rapid technological advances shaping the future of cancer treatment.
