    Ria Mae

Ria Mae is an East Coast Music Award winning and Juno Award nominated artist.  I first discovered Ria Mae hearing her 2016 song “Clothes Off” in high rotation on the radio.  The single sounded fresh and decidedly "not Canadian" by my reckoning.  When it was revealed that Ria was an independent artist from the Halifax I was sold, and I'm excited to be able to talk with her today.  Please welcome Ria Mae.More Ria MaeInstagram / Facebook / Spotify / YouTubeWatch the episode on YouTube Support the showThe Stumble Forward is a conversation-style podcast hosted by Hawksley Workman. Andrew King is a Manotick Ontario based visual artist, animator, writer, thinker and bon vivant. Andrew's twitter account is one of my favourites, with poignant Gen-X musings and a whisky Wednesday event (among other things) where he deep dives into the esoteric.  I love his art for its humour, emotion, heavy design leanings and echoes of mid-century modern and (to me at least) some Tamara de Lempicka thrown in.  He's got a fascinating mind and I'm pleased to welcome him today.More Andrew KingTwitter / InstagramSupport the showThe Stumble Forward is a conversation-style podcast hosted by Hawksley Workman. Jane Siberry is a singer, songwriter and poet whose work is captured on 16 studio albums over 4 decades.  Jane won the Victor Martyn Lynch Staunton award in 2005, although I think awards are just an abstraction for her.  Her 1989 album, Bound By the Beauty was one of the most important albums to come through my life in my teen years, and seemed to point in a direction of pure artistic freedom.  I listened in disbelief that an artist would be allowed to make music that sounded so creative, and I'm lucky to get to chat with Jane today.More Jane SiberryWeb / Instagram / Facebook / SpotifySupport the showThe Stumble Forward is a conversation-style podcast hosted by Hawksley Workman.
