The SydeCast

The gang is back this week and we’re here to ask some questions: is GTA 6 ever coming out, and when it does, where will consumers land on the scope of disappointment? Do game developers/designers/producers set themselves up for failure based on their reputation alone? Is the Steam Machine going to end the fake console war that no one has cared about since the 90s? And can we afford it? Will PS5 players begrudgingly become part of the PC community? And finally - why in the world are we sometimes accidentally purchasing AI art? We try to find answers, but when we can’t, you can count on us for this - we will find laughs and nearly pee our pants. Maybe that was just Rachel. Definitely maybe.

The gang is back again this week with conversations about how our hobbies evolve as we do as people, super imposing faces on draft dodgers, and why it's so frustrating when some of our favorite fandoms end up exploited in the name of harming marginalized communities. Have any of you even played Halo? Heard of it? We may be all adjusting our glasses and saying, "Actually...." but we think it really matters in times like this. Also, somehow pasta again. The gang is in the exact same place they have always been and you shouldn't at all be surprised by that. We discuss the state of Lorcana meta and Pokemon TCG, why we always love film adaptations of video games (cough nah), and the importance of keeping video games fresh with new takes and formats, even if it deviates from what we know and love. This week, the gang dives into the new Gundam TCG, the release of the most questionably named Pokemon set, and announces their GOAT of the Week: Stephen Colbert. Conversely, they discuss all the ways Pokemon TCG Live continues to break their hearts but hopefully never their wallets. They explore the reality that the love of certain hobbies ebbs and flows, and the fact that owning shiny cardboard is Ron's entire personality. The gang discusses their feelings on the new Superman flick, the ramifications of losing an icon in the nerd space, and, FINALLY - Ron and Rachel are playing Expedition 33.
