Dr. Leonidas Chouliaras is a consultant of old age psychiatry in the EPUT NHS foundation and an assistant professor and researcher at the University of Cambridge. He is an active researcher, helping us understand the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases. His research is focused on epigenetic mechanisms, blood biomarkers and neuroimaging in dementia, including Alzheimer's.Dr. Chouliaras' research is very relevant to our project since he has worked with epigenetic profiling in brain tissue and in blood and has identified biomarkers that can help make the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases earlier.Listen to our conversation with him in this episode to find out more about his work, current research and his reflection upon his career path and advice for aspiring researchers.
