Why power design is crucial for your application
Today’s episode will plug us right into the heartbeat of every electronic device: its power supply. Often considered merely as an afterthought in product development, the power supply and the architecture it relies on can make or break a product’s performance and reliability. Optimizing power design is essential to maximize efficiency and ensure consistent performance across various load conditions. The power supply does more than just provide the voltage and current needed to drive an application; it plays a crucial role in protecting sensitive electronics from voltage spikes, surges, and other potentially destructive anomalies. With suppliers constantly developing innovative products to meet fast-evolving market requirements, product developers often find themselves hard-pressed to stay up-to-date with the latest solutions. In light of these challenges, we have invited two guests with extensive experience in supporting customers who face these exact challenges in the development of power supplies:Jon Cooper, Technical Manager, Power and Energy Storage at Avnet AbacusRichard Craven, Senior Product Manager: Power and Batteries at Avnet AbacusFor more information on how Avnet Abacus can support you visit: Unleashing the Power of Avnet Abacus

What you should know about Flexible Electronics
Most electronic devices we use today are hard, rigid, and fragile. Look inside them and you’ll see why: The circuits that make them work sit on a solid printed circuit board, or a PCB. It’s a constraint that limits not only how we design our devices, but also how we interact with them. But what if it didn’t have to be that way? Enter flexible electronics – circuits printed onto flexible substrates – enabling a whole new realm of technological designs that save space, simplify assembly, and even unlock new, less invasive and more intuitive, use cases. Despite their potential, flexible electronics are still relatively unknown compared to their rigid counterparts. That’s why we’ve invited three guests to this episode to talk about what it takes to build innovative solutions using these technologies:Wladimir Punt, Europe business manager for flexible and printed electronics at MolexSara Ghaemi, Director of technical development at Avnet AbacusFor more information visit: https://bit.ly/3xFpSuA

EV Charging – The power of three
1.8 trillion euros – that’s the sum the EU wants to invest over the next ten years to go net-zero by 2050 as part of its Green Deal. This, in turn, demands an ambitious rethink in the transport sector, which currently accounts for around 25% of total greenhouse gas emissions in the EU. Electric vehicles will be an important part of this action plan – the market for EVs is booming, with 30 million zero-emission vehicles expected to be on Europe’s roads by 2030. Against this backdrop, it’s clear that we need to make preparations for the electric transport of tomorrow and ensure that our charging infrastructure can meet exponentially growing demand. To explore how that can be done, we are talking to Andrej Orel, Director of the City and Infrastructure Segment at EBV Elektronik, Sara Ghaemi, Director Technical Development at Avnet Abacus and Bevan Braude, Business Development Manager, Avnet Embedded. For more information visit: http://www.ev-chargi.ng
