April 2026 - The Cobargo Community Tree Project
This month we hear about a unique project nearing completion in Cobargo which was so deeply affected by the Black Summer Bushfires. The Cobargo Community Tree Project has been led by two blacksmiths, Ian Hamilton and Philippe Ravenel, who have invited the community to forge leaves for a metal tree sculpture to be placed in the town square. We hear about what participating in the project has meant to community members and how this tree sculpture will symbolise community, recovery, regrowth and moving forward together. Hosted on Acast. It’s Christmas every day at the Bowerbird opshop in Cobargo, volunteers laughing their heads off while having treats and cups of tea, actual op shop prices, and great stuff on the shelves. Over the last 10 years The Bowerbird has given over $250,000 dollars out to community organisations, which is certainly an inspiration to give and buy up big.
