The TRIBE Podcast

Biblical masculinity is under attack. Marriages and families are falling apart. Courage, honor, and strength seem like virtues in short supply. TRIBE is a call for men to band together, stand strong and stand up against the lies that the modern world wants us to believe about ourselves. Our goal is to facilitate growth through the discussion and application of Biblical instruction, principles and wisdom. By looking to the source of all things good, men can begin to grow themselves and in turn, help others grow into the men God calls us to be. Welcome to TRIBE.

#8 - Memento Mori - Are You Ready to Die

In this episode we discuss how we can view death not as a circumstance for anxiety or despair, but as an affirmation of the hope Christians find in the Resurrection of Christ. And do not forget to compile your own epitaph!

TRIBE Shorts - #2 - More on the Christ Centered Life and How a Fire Can Attract Men to God

In this episode we provide brief comments and recapitulation from recent episodes and add content and resources for you to explore. In addition, we discuss the so-called “Buffered Self” as explained by Bishop Barron, and how local Churches can be the fires whose warmth can attract men to God.

    # 7 - Personal Testimonies and How to Live a Christ Centered Life

In this episode we go over personal testimonies and how we approach the life-altering experience of encountering God. We then discuss what it means and how to live a Christ-centered life. How to make Christ the center of our lives instead of ourselves and move away from the rim of the “wheel of fortune”, a word play of the rose windows one finds in European Cathedrals; an image you will find often referenced in the lectures, teachings, and broader work of Bishop Barron, a Catholic Christian theologian, especially his lectures titled “Untold Blessing: Three Paths to Holiness” that you can find on the Word on Fire Institute, from where some thoughts are drawn.

    # 4 - Meaning, Ancient Greek Tragedy, and Evangelism

In this Episode we go on a deep intellectual dive into how our secular world came to be and what are the implications for how we seek to Evangelize the secular man. We discuss literature, how we can infuse Christian redemptive meaning to ancient stories, and discover why sometimes the only response a man can give is to bark. The Oedipus Rex story play referenced as well as the broader search for infusing meaning to ancient stories is nicely analyzed in depth by Dr. Holly Ordway in three recent lectures that you can find at the Word on Fire Institute under the title “Evangelizing in an Indifferent Culture”. (It is behind a paywall and it is well worth listening to in its entirety.)
