by Rich Larson and Daniel G. Moir
Hosts Rich Larson and Daniel G. Moir bring you a weekly collection of songs and stories based around something significant or topical to the week. It could be an historical event or an upcoming event, something in the news, somebody’s birthday, really anything that moves them. And then they argue.

The Talking Heads Show 2/26/26
Rich and Danny choose a day of absolutely no significance to celebrate to celebrate one of the weirdest, most wonderfully creative bands of them all, The Talking Heads. There isn't a lot of disagreement on this show because even these two can agree that the Talking Heads didn't really make any bad music. Some songs were stranger than others, but one person's weird is another person's lifetime achievement award? Don't think, "My God, what have I done?" Listen to this show instead.

The Reconstructing Valentines Day Show 2/12/26
Rich and Annie return for the fourth annual Valentines Day special. This one almost didn't happen, however (cue the dramatic music.) Alls well that ends well, though. Happy Valentines Day everyone.

The 2025 Daniel G. Moir Music Awards 1/9/26
An annual tradition, the boys always start the year out with Danny flying (mostly) solo by looking back over the past twelve months and assessing them as only he can. To many this is the favorite show of the year. Wanna take a peak into the mind of Daniel G. Moir? Buckle up, Buttercup. Here you go.

The Last Show of 2025 Show w/Laura Meyers and Kristi Pursell 1/1/26
On the annual gathering of the show's four anointed hosts, Rich, Danny, Kristi and Laura look back at what was a difficult year for each of them, but still find the silver linings, positivity, joy, yadda yadda yadda of 2025. Look, when you can get together with friends and look at the last twelve months and find ways to laugh and enjoy some really great music, then you're still ahead of the game. Happy New Year to one and all, to your families, your loved ones, and everyone else, too. May 2026 bring less of the grrrr and more of the yadda yadda yadda.

The Jackson Browne Show, Vol. 2 12/25/25
Having absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the show is airing on Christmas night, the boys bring you the well promised but long delayed Jackson Browne Show, Vol. 2. These guys really like Jackson Browne, so Merry Christmas to them, and Merry Christmas to you all as well.

The White Album Leftovers Show 12/4/25
A year after Danny and Rich discussed what a single-disc White Album would have looked like with their friend Kollibri terre Sonnenblum, Rich and Danny spend their annual Beatles show talking about the songs from the White Album that did not make the single disc version. Of particular interest to Rich is the question "Where would all of those other songs landed?" A long show this week, but a good one.

The Electric Nebraska Show 11/7/25
In a first for the Weekly List, hosts Rich Larson and Daniel G. Moir present a sequel to one of their shows. Last year, they broke down Bruce Springsteen's album, Nebraska. Shortly after that show aired, it was announced that the book, Deliver Me From Nowhere, that had inspired the Nebraska Show was being turned into a movie starring Jeremy Allen White. A year later, to accompany the movie, Bruce Springsteen released the tapes of the songs from Nebraska he had attempted to record with the E Street Band. So, here then is the sequel to the original Nebraska Show, The Electric Nebraska Show.

The Glass Houses Show 10/30/25
Tonight the boys go back to the Billy Joel Well to talk about an album they both know as well as any album in either of their collections.
-

The Yacht Rock Show, Vol. 2 w/special guest Mike Stiles 10/16/25
Rich and Danny are once again joined by their spiritual big brother, Mike Stiles, to avail themselves of the grace, beauty and easy grooves of Yacht Rock. Don’t miss Mike’s demonstration of how to use an 8-Track tape player!
-
159
The Jackson Browne Show, Vol. 1 10/9/25
Rich and Danny wish Jackson Browne a happy 77th birthday with the first of two Jackson Browne shows (the second will come sooner than later). Not much else to say about the show, but they think you'll really like it.
-
158
The Post Farm Aid Show 10/2/25
Danny takes the week off so Rich can sit with Kristi Pursell and Annie Larson, his beloved wife, to debrief about their experiences at Farm Aid 40, which was in Minneapolis on September 20th, and even share some of the performances from the show. Maybe not surprisingly, it gets pretty emotional right off the bat, because this is a cause that is dear to all three of them.
-
157
The Farm aid Show 9/18/25
It's Farm Aid week in Minnesota, with the 40th edition of the all-star concert being held on September 20th at Huntington Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis. Rich is going to Farm Aid, and if you listen to the beginning of the show, he explains exactly why this is so significant to him. There's a lot of great music from the Farm Aid performers on this show, and Rich also speaks with Kristi Pursell in her role as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives about the farm economy, and why an event like Farm Aid is so important.

Jonathan Reppe’s Jimmy Buffet Show 9/4/25
Tonight’s show is programmed and co-hosted by Jonathan Reppe, who won the chance to work with Rich & Danny at a recent fundraiser. As it is right around Labor Day, Jonathan chose to focus on a man who dedicated his life to extending summertime as long as possible. While Danny is not all that familiar with JB, Rich is right in his element. All three have a great time, because it’s impossible to play Jimmy Buffet and not have a good time.
-
155
The Born to Run Show 8/28/25
Both Rich and Danny are card carrying members of the E Street Nation, so this is something regular listeners should have seen coming pretty clearly. This week marks the 50th anniversary of the release of Born to Run. The boys mark the occasion by breaking the album down. It’s not quite having your face simultaneously on the covers of Time and Newsweek, but this does mark the 3rd time Bruce has had a show devoted to him. Another feather in your cap, Boss.
-
154
The Elvis Costello Show 8/14/25
Neither Rich or Danny claim to be massive fans of Elvis Costello. They both really like his music, but for whatever reason they have only been cursory fans. This show is as much about them discovering some of Elvis Costello’s music as it is presenting the stuff they like. Also there’s a whole thing in there about the pronunciation of Steve Nieve’s name.
-
153
The Ozzy Osbourne Show 7/31/25
A week after his passing, Rich and Danny use their show to pay their respects and express their gratitude and admiration for one of the defining musicians of their time.
-
152
The AC/DC Show 7/24/25
Recorded on the day another hard rock giant passed away, Rich and Danny wax poetic about the hard rock Australian band from Scotland. Despite the fact that there is a little bickering (mild by their standards), they agree on the fact that neither of AC/DC’s singers was better than the other, and both eras of the band have great merit. All in all, it’s a pretty fair and balanced show. Even if Angus and Malcolm Young are both ugly as sin.
-
151
The Blondie Show 7/17/25
Back together in the studio for the first time in weeks, Rich and Danny belatedly celebrate Debbie Harry’s 80th (!) birthday with a show devoted to her groundbreaking band, Blondie. Do you want proof that Daniel G. Moir is all about the music, and nothing else? Rich tries several times to talk about how beautiful Debbie Harry is, and each time Danny shrugs it off with a comment about the use of a Major 7th chord in the bridge of one of their songs, or how Chris Stein got his guitar tone. Danny just has a different outlook on life than most of us. Again, it’s like he’s Canadian.
-
150
The Southern Rock Show 6/19/25
This week, to celebrate his birthday, Rich invites his wife Annie back onto the show as they talk about the music she grew up on and Rich’s surprising, but deep love for Southern Rock. Not a lot more to say than that, but if you’re the guy in the back yelling “FREE BIRD!,” the bartenders have been instructed to cut you off. Thanks y’all.
-
149
The Heart Show w/special guest Mike Stiles 6/12/25
A while back, Rich asked Danny if he would have any interest in doing a Heart show. Danny declined. So, Rich reached out to the guys’ spiritual big brother, Mike Stiles, who readily agreed. So, tonight, Rich and Mike team up to do a song about one of the greatest classic rock bands of them all.
-
148
The British Invasion Throwdown Show with special guest Tim McNiff 6/5/25
Rich and Danny are joined by former Twin Cities newsman, fixture on KYMN in the morning and all round super hero Tim McNiff, for a friendly debate. The music that came from the United Kingdom in the 1960’s, was the best music being made in the world. Right…?That is the position taken by our guy Tim, while Danny and Rich counter with some truly wonderful music that was made right her in the U.S. during that same time. You’re going to want to give this a listen and then weigh in on this.
-
147
The Beach Boys & Brian Wilson Show 5/29/25
With Memorial Day a few days behind us, it is officially summer. So what better way to kick the summer off than with a show about The Beach Boys. One of the hosts is admittedly not as fond of the band as the other, but Rich still finds a lot about the Beach Boys to love, especially talking about how much he really dislikes Mike Love. The music is terrific, they get to explore the true genius of Brian Wilson, and Rich gets to rip a guy he finds to be totally vile. It’s the perfect summer show!
-
146
The Devo Show 5/22/25
This week, Rich and Danny take a deep dive in to the weird, devolved, techno world of Devo. There’s nothing else to say. You can’t translate robotic movements to the written word. It is recommended that you listen to this show while wearing your red energy dome and a sleeveless turtleneck with the collar pulled up to your nose.
-
145
The Huey Lewis & The News Show 5/15/25
Rich and Danny spend more than an hour-and-a-half digging into the brilliant music made by Huey Lewis & The News. They explore the nuances and attention to detail for which the band was famous. They discuss the groups undeniable influence on all pop music over the past thirty years, and even select their favorite bands of the 21st century that they see as the heirs apparent to the Huey Lewis & The News legacy. Okay, none of that is true, but the guys do celebrate Huey Lewis & The News as the everyman band that hit it big.
-
144
The Quincy Jones Show 5/8/25
This week Rich and Danny finally feel ready to pay homage to one of the great musical minds of our time. Quincy Jones passed away in November, and the boys have taken the time to bring together what they feel is a good representation of his career through the music that he wrote, produced and arranged. And folks the music this week is just superb. This show doesn’t get to work with a catalog that is this deep and this diverse very often. Rich and Danny take full advantage of its magnificence.
-
143
The Willie Nelson Show 4/24/25
Rich and Danny take some time (but not enough time) to wish the great Willie Nelson a happy 92nd birthday. Really, this show is them playing a bunch of his songs and just kind of marveling at the depth and breadth of his crazy remarkable career. Listen to them fanboy if you want, but the music on this show is – obviously – amazing.
-
142
The Miami Vice Show 4/17/25
Rich and Danny indulge themselves in 80’s nostalgia as they discuss the biggest television show of their teenage years, and break down the significant influence Miami Vice had on the music industry back in the day.
-
141
The One Hit Wonders Show, Vol. 3 4/10/25
Tonight Rich and Danny thoroughly enjoy themselves going through another batch of One Hit Wonders. They actually get along really well on the show tonight. Yes, that’s weird, but don’t let it throw you off. Just enjoy the music.
-
140
The Paradise Theatre Show 4/3/25
A topic that Rich suggested, simply because he has been afraid Danny would come to him and want to do a Mr. Roboto Show, or something. He needn’t have worried, however, because Paradise Theatre is the point that Danny regards as the creative peak of Styx, one of his favorite bands. The album tells the story of the venerable old theater in Chicago that opened in 1928 and was torn down exactly 30 years later. Rich talks about how much he admires Tommy Shaw, but not so much with Dennis DeYoung. Danny tolerates it.
-
139
The Cher Show 3/13/25
Danny takes the week off, and in come Mrs. Moxie and Rich’s dear friend since early childhood, Kate Pehrson, to celebrate the magnificence, the majesty, and the exquisite glory of Cher. Seriously – Rich, his oldest friend, a Drag Queen and Cher. What else do you need?
-
138
The Eric Clapton Show 3/6/25
Rich and Danny go through their complicated relationship with Eric Clapton, and pretty much just gush about his music. It’s that kind of show tonight.
-
137
The Full Bottle of Ketchup Show 2/27/25
This week, Rich and Danny explore the world of the epic song. The music on this show is the stuff of euphoria for a music producer. These songs all start out as just a melody on a guitar or a piano, but eventually turn into forces of nature packed with instrumentation, grandiose arrangements, and oh-so-much drama. It’s a long show, but it’s a very fun one. And, as a bonus(!), due to some technical difficulties in the KYMN Production Studio, this show was broadcast live of Thursday, February 27th, 2025. Enjoy.
-
136
The Led Zeppelin II Show 2/20/25
Using the new Led Zeppelin documentary, Becoming Led Zeppelin, as a good excuse, Rich and Danny pretty well just geek out over the band’s heralded second album, Led Zeppelin II.
-
135
The Sustaining Valentines Day Show 2/13/25
This week, Annie Larson joins her husband Rich for what is now their annual Valentines Day Show. They try really, really hard to not be sappy and all that, but let’s be honest, they’re adorable. Happy Valentines Day!
-
134
The No Jacket Required Show 2/6/25
Rich is just positively giddy, because Phil Collins’ third solo album, No Jacket Required, was his favorite album in high school, and he still loves the music deeply. The boys talk a lot about something called Gated Reverb, discuss the mystery of the “bonus track,” and break down No Jacket Required as the album approaches the 40th anniversary of its release.
-
133
The Chicago Show 1/30/25
This week, on the night before the legendary Teri Kath’s 79th birthday, Rich and Danny take a look at one of the finest horn bands ever to play rock & roll. No real arguments. No meltdowns. No passive aggressive dissing between the two of them. Just respect for a Hall of Fame band, and especially for their underrated, and tragically fallen, comrade.
-
132
The Yacht Rock Show 1/23/25
Rich and Danny are joined by their friend Mike Stiles to debate and discuss the concept of “Yacht Rock.” While each of them will profess a deep affection for the music on this show, there is some question as to the legitimacy of Yacht Rock as a genre. It was only identified years after the moment had passed, and that identification came from a parody web show that was not always incredibly respectful to the artists who made the music. So, the discussion ensues. Regardless, if you like music from people like Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Christopher Cross and , er, Franke & The Knockouts (East Coast Yacht Rock?), then this is the show you need to hear.
-
131
The Face Value Show 1/16/25
One of the conversations Rich and Danny had with the new year approaching was about Phil Collins and how they needed to give him more attention. This show is the first in a series of Phil Collins related editions of The Weekly List, tonight focusing on his amazing debut solo album, Face Value. You’re gonna love it, even if you think you don’t like Phil Collins, because as it turns out, you really do.
-
130
The 2024 Daniel G. Moir Music Awards 1/9/25
The traditional first show of every new year on The Weekly List is the annual presentation of the Daniel G. Moir Music Awards. Danny’s not quite feeling the humor in the world as much as he has in past years, so he takes a more serious approach. But, it is Danny after all, so things aren’t totally somber. Also Rich runs the board on this show.
-
129
The Last Show of 2024 Show 12/26/2024
Rich and Danny attempt to establish a tradition by inviting the two alternate co-hosts onto the show to discuss the year that was. This time, Rich’s beloved wife Annie sits in for the unavailable Kristi Pursell – perhaps next year there will be five of them in the studio? – and each host presents three songs that represent 2024 to and for them. Happy New Year from the Weekly List Collective.
-
128
The Blood on the Tracks Show with special guest Paul Metsa 12/19/24
This show is a small dream come true for Rich. Fifty years ago next week, Bob Dylan called a small group of Twin Cities musicians together to record a few tracks for his forthcoming album, Blood on the Tracks. The product of those sessions was one half of Rich’s favorite album, and also his favorite song, Tangled Up in Blue. This week, not only does Rich get to geek out about his favorite album, but Danny steps aside so world-famous Twin Cities minstrel, troubadour and all-around legend Paul Metsa, can co-hot with Rich. He gives his insight into the music, the musicians and the recording sessions, while also talking about his recently published book, Blood in the Tracks: The Minnesota Musicians Behind Dylan’s Masterpiece. If you have half as much fun listening to this show as Rich did recording it, you’ll be in heaven.
-
127
The Be Kind Show with guest host Laura Meyers 12/12/24
Laura Meyers does her own solo show takeover – although Rich gets far more involved than anyone had planned – to bring us the 2024 installment of her annual mental-health check-in shows.
-
126
The Apple Cart Show 12-5-24
Every year during the first week of December, Rich and Danny do a Beatles themed show in honor of John Lennon. This year, they invite their old friend Kollibri terre Sonnenblume to join them and talk about his reimagined version of the White Album as a one disc collection called Apple Cart. Three old friends playing great music by the Beatles and then talking about each song as they go. Really, it’s one of those great little moments that you remember forever.
-
125
The Sammy Hagar Show 11/28/24
Because who doesn’t equate Thanksgiving with The Red Rocker? Okay, Rich and Danny know the timing of this show is a little weird, but the Sammy Hagar show has been bumped at least twice since October when the boys had originally intended to do this show to celebrate Sammy’s birthday. Oh well, you’ll still get Rich and Danny’s takes on the guy they call the Rock & Roll Everyman. Happy Thanksgiving. Now let’s rock.
-
124
The Pachyderm Show 11-14-24
Thanks to a generous invitation from the members of Northfield Band Fred the Bear, Rich, Danny and their merry band of knuckleheads find themselves recording at the legendary Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, just like Nirvana did. Except this show probably isn’t as good as In Utero. Regardless, they celebrate the location by playing music that was recorded at the studio. Listen. You’ll be able to tell that a good time was had by all.
-
123
The Live Post-Election Show 11/7/24
Rich and Danny are joined by a full cast characters to discuss and digest the second election of Donald J. Trump to the American Presidency. The music is appropriate for the times.
-
122
The Witches & Bitches Show 10/31/24
It’s Halloween, so a coven of witches (or as we like to call them, Annie Larson, Laura Meyers and Kristi Pursell) stopped in for the first in a series of Weekly List Takeover shows to talk about taking a bite out of the patriarchy with a list of songs by some great witches and bitches.
-
121
The Bat Out of Hell Show 10/24/24
This week, Danny and Rich are joined by their pal Mike Stiles to break down Meat Loaf’s magnum opus, Bat Out of Hell. It turns out this is the best selling album of all time in Australia, so if you think that you don’t like the album, maybe give it another shot. Rich, Mike and Danny certainly do their best to make it enjoyable for you. And, honestly, 32 million Australians cannot be wrong.
-
120
The American Idiot Show 10/17/24
Somehow it’s been 20 years since Green Day resurrected their floundering career and catapulted themselves to more success – and much more respect – than they had ever experienced before. Not only is American Idiot the best album they have recorded to date, but many (Rich and Danny included) consider it to be the best album of the 21st century’s first decade. For this reason only, and certainly not because there is an election coming up or anything like that, the boys break down American Idiot song-by-song, piece-by-piece.
-
119
The Crossroads Show with special guests The Moxies 10/10/24
This week the boys are joined by Mrs. Moxie and Rich’s “Rich & Ryan in the Morning” Show partner, Ryan Foley (aka Mr. Moxie), as they continue the weeklong one year anniversary celebration of Out in the Open with Mrs. Moxie.
