beats like this take me back to them winter days in the Chi on 89th and racine when i was a shorty in grammar school. pure nostalgia. back when i had sample fever and it was all new. messing around with that magix music maker and holding a usb logitech mic up to any radio station that was playing a fire soul jam to catch a loop. i was making chops with a dualshock that’s still hard to duplicate even in daw today. back when life was simpler. i think through time it got to a point where i slightly lost sight of what i was doing it all for in the first place. it was always for the love of music and the love of true hip hop. having the power and gift to manipulate and transform sound waves. not for the satisfaction of others nor for the praise but a genuine love for the craft. a love and passion that i can see is still everlasting. enjoy 🧱

It is an experimental project composed of majority audio recorded sounds using a Marantz recorder, a condenser mic, a few MIDI sounds here and there. While studying Sound Art and Installation as a Studio Art major, I have crossed multiple mediums. Some of these tracks were composed live in large spaces, products of sound performance installations, used in a Dance research performance, sound recordings of cooking, human chatter, accidental clips/peaks and miscellaneous everyday life activities. The overall quality of sound is not the best purposefully and keeps its natural recorded minimalist essence. Using these sounds to construct rhythms were challenging but rewarding. Get yourself a nice pair of on or over-the-ear headphones and enjoy.
