    #5: Dialectic

Emmet & Youssef demonstrate our famous co-ordinated lateness, bringing you our August episode in September! For not-so-locals, you can likely find a copy either at your local library, or by asking somebody at your local community theatre. (Like I said, it’s a very popular show!) Speaking of community theatre, either David Auburn has intentionally loosened the copyright restrictions or he’s just not very litigious, because there are a bunch of videos of entire amateur productions of this play on YouTube that will come up if you search the title & author, which is fun to look at the range of ways that people have constructed the set & interpreted the characters, soundtrack, etc. You can also listen to the entire play free from LA Theatre Works: https://latw.org/title/proof, or find this recording on your podcast player of choice, including bonus content about the math & psychological science behind the play, as part of the LATW Relativity series.Emmet learned the “dead dog” exercise from the podcast “Hot To Write A Play” with Mike Bartlett: https://shows.acast.com/how-to-write-a-play/episodesWhat is a Woman?
