How He's Permanently Changing the Real Estate Industry

It start simple enough: Mike Chambers just wanted to sell his home. What started as frustrations over the listing process turned into an overnight viral campaign, "Realtors Hate Me," that drew the ire of real estate professionals around the country. With this platform, he questioned the real estate status quo, but he didn't stop there.  Mike put his money where his mouth is and launched Ridley, a real estate sales platform that rewrites the way people sell their homes and the way agents get paid. Denver agent Lauryn Dempsey joined me as my co-host, and we sat down with Mike to learn more about his new venture, and to see if real estate agents truly would be negatively impacted by the Ridley approach. As it turns out, Mike actually works with a number of agents, including many on his team. He talks about how, while the initial tone of his early viral content did come across as combative to agents - his true frustration is with the industry, and Lauryn and I found quite a bit of common ground with him about regulations and changes in the industry that aren't serving the seller or the agent. We also agreed that there is room in the industry for multiple approaches to listing.Mike was articulate and gracious guest, and we really enjoyed our conversation. We hope you find it as interesting and engaging as we did, and we'd love your thoughts about his approach, the current status of the way homes are listed, and where you think the industry is heading. You can find mike and learn more about Ridley on Instagram at:https://www.instagram.com/realtorshateme/https://www.instagram.com/getridley/Or on his website: https://getridley.com/
