To Be Frank
by Champagne Athletics
Hey everyone, Frank here. I created Champagne Athletics in 2017 to create a platform to talk about the culture, humor, and the ups and downs of Detroit sports- and that's exactly what we'll use this time for every week. I'll tell some personal stories, complain, mess up and try to laugh with you along the way. We'll veer into Detroit-related stories (think rats at Coney Island), pop-culture and the occasional god knows what. I'm glad you're here and I hope you tell a friend.

Ep. 4 | Pissing & Moaning: Traffic, D-Mo's Gone, Red Wings March Is Upon Us
March is upon us and I don't know if it's my impending fear that the Wings are going to blow it again, that Yzerman won't make a deadline move, or both. But I kick off this episode yelling at clouds regarding traffic and a shitty phone call I got. I'm sad David Montgomery is gone but understand the high return he yielded. I prep for the NHL trade deadline, praise Jason Benetti and brace myself for another Red Wings March. Subscribe and tell your friends. - Frank Pissing and Moaning 0:00 - 5:11Jason Benetti 5:11 - 9:31David Montgomery 9:31 - 23:33Red Wings 23:33 - 35:24Pistons/Tigers 35:24 - 37:39

Wings are back and this is the year they need to make the playoffs, no questions asked. Decker is back. The Pistons rock but stumble vs San Antonio. Ep. 2 | Verlander is Back, Pistons Love Fist Fighting, I Finally Met Chris Osgood
Recorded 2/11/2026Was that the most forgettable Super Bowl in recent memory? Frank breaks down why the biggest game of the year somehow lacked the usual juice, then shifts to a storybook reunion as Justin Verlander returns to Detroit on a one-year deal meant to add veteran leadership to a contending rotation. He also reacts to the chaos in Charlotte after a Pistons-Hornets brawl led to multiple suspensions, including seven games for Isaiah Stewart. And to top it off, a full-circle hockey moment as Frank finally meets Chris Osgood… the same goalie who handed him a stick back in 1999 and signed it decades later.Intro (0:03 - 3:43)Housekeeping/Showcase (3:43 - 6:14)Superbowl Recap (6:14 - 11:33)Verlander is a Detroit Tiger Again (11:33 - 19:42)Pistons Love Fist Fighting (19:42 - 27:39)Osgood Story Time (27:39 - 50:51)
