It's Cinny Prendick's 16th birthday, but all she cares about is Nasha the Jaguar, who's expected to give birth to new cubs today at her father's zoo. Though she's a very sick girl, Cinny volunteers at the zoo as a Wildlife Ambassador, and tries not to let her illness slow her down. But her plans to attend the delivery are interrupted by a bully and his friends, who are tormenting Zack, a Silverback gorilla.
