    Nav523 Mobile App Release

    In this episode, we review the newly released Nav523 mobile application now available on the Apple App store. The app clarifies over seventy different work types, ranging from appliance installations to major mechanical renovations. Users can access applicable UCC citations, determine specific licensing requirements, and identify the necessary inspection protocols for various projects. A significant feature of the platform includes interactive permit forms that can be completed, printed, or shared directly from a smartphone to streamline the administrative process. Additionally, the software serves as a communication hub by delivering real-time alerts regarding updated industry news to ensure regional notice through UCC Alerts.

    Electronic Permit Submissions

    In this episode, we highlight some of the many details surrounding electronic permit submissions, which became effective on November 18, 2024. At this point in time, all UCC functions can be performed digitally and electronically. There are exceptions to electronic submittals; Any licensed contractor that has a pressure seal, cannot at this time submit electronically and must continue with paper submissions until their respective board allows. These include licensed master plumbers, licensed electricians, and licensed heating ventilation and air conditioner contractors.
