In this episode of the Ukrainian Art Dispatch, we bring you to Kharkiv, Eastern Ukraine. Here, the Yermilov Center is hosting a major exhibition that presents a profound conversation between two visionary artists of our time. Emerging from vastly different sociopolitical backgrounds and cultural environments, Boris Mikhailov and Wolfgang Tillmans share a deep kinship: a commitment to photography as a means to explore the intersection of the personal and the political, and to capture the essence of a place and a moment in time. "Pairs Skating: Wolfgang Tillmans and Boris Mikhailov" is curated by Tatiana Kochubinska (art historian and independent curator) & Maria Isserlis (senior museum curator, art historian, and cultural manager).
