Under Pressure Graffiti festival 18th Edition - Montreal 2013 Under Pressure is the largest and longest running event of its kind all across North America. Under Pressure is a graffiti festival which focuses on community development, artist empowerment as well as positive youth development through ownership and responsibility of a shared space. Currently heading into its nineteenth year this festival is the longest running graffiti and hip hop festival in existence. The main reason it has been able to be sustained for so long is because it is an event done by the community for the community, everyone who works on keeping it alive does so on a volunteer basis. The festival takes place over two days, during the first full-week weekend in August. Throughout the two days stages are given over to performers from across the country to keep the crowd lively and the bboy and bgirl battle which always goes down on Sunday afternoon. There is a kid’s area for the little ones to get creative and a skate ramp set up over the course of the two days for open jams and a competition as well. It is the efforts of everyone who believes in this festival and this movement that allows us to do the things we do. Thank you for your continued support and we will see you in August! Art Attack #02 For its second participation in Montréal’s Nuit blanche, the Fresh Paint gallery will present a performance that is both artistic and musical, closing out its latest exhibition. Whether born in Montréal or adopted by the city, HoarKor and Miss Me are both heavily influenced by pop culture but have distinct artistic worlds, making their collaboration all the more explosive. In addition to the visual artists' performance, we will also welcome the HighonBeat collective—a group of DJs and beatmakers established around the world and involved in various styles of emerging electronic music. For this event, founder Construct will be present along with several of his guests. Finally, the exhibition we launched in January will be open to the public one last time, offering a rich and diverse range of creative worlds. Like street art, it aims to take over the environment by intervening directly on the floor, walls, and ceiling, providing a unique experience for the audience. Several emerging artists are featured: Emmanuel Laflamme, MonstR, Jules Desmarais, Andrew Da Silva, Alysha Farling, Beeforeo, Marc André Giguère, MC Baldassari, Franklepirate, Gawd.
